From now on, I will only buy white phone if the material is of glossy. If it's matte or rubberized-finish, I will definitely avoid them as they're very easy to get dirt and everything on them. My matte white Lumia 620 has already got some stains :indiff:

My black one is still a matte/rubberized finish but its not nearly as bad.

Matte black should be owkey, but if you look at my matte white finish and HTC's Windows Phone 8X with a rubberized blue finish for example, they all turns black in matter of days. I recommend to avoid them though, or just get a cover.

I have seen them all smudged up at the art store I couldn't imagine day to day use.
I keep an otter box on mine anyway, I don't want any a accidents.

Got a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000.

Still going strong.

Slapped on a Cyanogen Mod version 10.1 (experimental) on it. Probably will need to downgrade it to a version 9 or similar due to slight lag due to the phone not actually being that quick anymore. Its ok for the time being.

Had to change it as the stock Samsung texting program kept crashing too many times. Now, the texting on this one is more reliable and more consistent. Although I don't really get on that well with the current stock Android keyboard (slightly too small and thin). Could do with being ever so slightly larger I think or slightly more useable. Guessing its down to muscle memory, more than anything else.

Anyone got any suggestions for useful or efficient ROMs for Samsung Galaxy S?

My htc one x plus is matte black rubberised and after having it for a month has no smudges on atall.

But saying that I do keep it in a protective sleeve most of the time. ;)

I've read of many cases on the apple forum of iPhone 5's having nicks straight out of the box...on black phones it is really noticeable, my iPhone 4 after 2 years remains flawless.

For all the iPhone 5 users! So far how are your phones holding up? Any scratches, scuffs?

My iPhone 5 is holding up well I try to take good care of it, a few small scratches on the screen protector, no scuffs as I have a gel case for mine.

A few of my mates had their phones scuffed. Also the reason why I went for the white model which luckily for me was flawless out of the box. Using a Belkin CandySheer Case though :) Seems pretty good so far:)

Just Got a Lumia 920, on a contract with H3G (dba as Three Italy), and I am finding it absolutely fantastic!
My other phone is an E72 (yes, i like Nokias), with a top-up Vodafone SIM-card.

An iPhone 5 (64GB and Factory Unlocked) since October and have been using it without a case since day one. Except for a few minor scuffs from daily use- mostly near the headphone jack at the bottom, the anodised finish is holding up surprisingly well but I've always been good to my gadgets. Everyone in my family has an Apple product. I have an iPhone 3GS and a 1st gen iPod touch (I don't use it anymore). My mother and brother have an iPhone 4, and my father has an iPhone 5.

My iPhone 5 is faring well. I'm like allot of people here and take care of my gadgets.

My white iPhone 5 is still in great shape, had a few falls on the floor but the case prevents any scratches or bump...

My white 1.5 year old iPhone 4 which w/o a case (but with protective cover on both sides) is still going strong except a bump on the body near the power button where it fall on a concrete floor (from stepping down a car)

Loving the colors on the screen as they are pretty neutral, and the more industrial feeling shape sets it apart in a way.

Nice shout out to WIND. Get the S3. It will cost like 300 if you get a higher plan but it might be a little more if you get a cheaper plan. They do the whole tab thing so tough to say. I did the math already and it's always cheaper to pay more for the phone upfront and get a cheaper plan. I suggest waiting for the S4 and getting that since it comes out like next month but if it's too expensive get the S3. Trust me the S3 will blow your mind. If you don't like the looks since it's such a popular phone there are tons of cases on ebay for it. Removable back plate which you can change too. Up to 64gb removable micro sd card. My phone is 80gb now. If you get a OTG cable for like $2 you can hook up a ps3 controller and play games. You can broadcast it wirlessly to your ps3 and browse all the photos, videos etc on the ps3 also or any dlna device. Battery is a monster which I get an average of 21hr use out of. The S4 is same thing just better everywhere which is why I say get that. However again once that comes out if it'd too expensive the S3 price will drop anyway and you can get that.

I'm planning on doing a pay-as-you-go with them, with a unlimited text plan for a total of $5 a month. So, I can't really do a tab or a contract.

Hmm so basically you are gonna buy a phone full price and use it there. $300 is kinda low and your options are gonna be a entry level phone or a older model phone. I don't know how heavy into the whole tech game you are but I suggest getting a nexus device from Google. I'm not sure how much the new nexus 4 is but if it's too much get the galaxy nexus which was the year before model. They get updates directly from Google for the newest android. Definitely what you will want to give more longevity to your device. It has to be from Google and not the carrier however so it's unlocked. The ones from carriers are a slightly different model and it takes at least 6 months to get a new update. Wind has a special right now which gives you 50% off pay as you go plans. Got until the end of this month to get it. Don't know if that's what you are doing already but if not look into it. Can get a whole year of service for like $50.

I wish WIND had service in Halifax.
Who knows what will happen in the future. They put the company up for sale this week so know ones knows who will buy them. Hopefully it's someone with lots of money who expands more.

I would have bought a Nexus 4 if they had an expandable SD slot...

They're great for the price, but the SD slot is a deal breaker for me, as I have over 100GB music.

Lol well a 64gb S3 seems to be your best bet. Add the 64g sd card for 128gb total. That's all you music and room ft of movies and apps. Gonna be expensive tho. Cheaper phones with sd card support usually have low internal memory. HTC one X or something like that is supposed to be good and cheap. I am not sure if that's the model name but it's the cheapest one.

Sony Xperia S in white

I haven't played around or tested this much in the few hours I've had it, but since my previous phone (Samsung S5620) was pretty poor overall, it's not hard to understand that this a far better device. Even if Sony isn't my ideal choice of brand. At least they've offered it with updated Android after being on the market for over 12 months now.
