What Phone Do You Have?

Hey guys, I have a question:

Will a phone which has a bad IMEI on T-Mobile work on Canada's pre-paid Wind Mobile network?

Got an IPhone 4 in white. Does a brilliant job and I'm not even thinking about upgrading it to the IPhone 5.

5 is identical to what you own already just taller. Wait to see what the 5s brings.

GT-R , I don't know if you tried saving photos off the internet with it to set as wallpapers, but I have no idea how to set pictures as lock screen wallpapers without having to go into a third-party app then coping the photos into a folder used in the gallery (such as DCIM). A little irritating as you can set it as a home screen wallpaper direct from the image displayed in the web browser, but not as a lock screen one. Appears to be a little overlooked.

Other than that, as mentioned in the latest purchases thread, very nice. Screen is the best LCD display I've seen, probably better than any OLED display I've seen (until the S4's comes along I suspect). The UI is much nicer and simpler than other HTC devices I've used or owned in the past. Very slick looking too. Very fast.

Another thing I miss from my HTC One X is the option to set the back button to long press to an app's settings menu. In early demo videos of this phone you could, but you can't anymore. The soft button doesn't irritate me as much as it used to, since more apps support it as a dedicated button now and it doesn't appear to take up as much space, but it's still a feature I'd like to see so I can see apps at the full width of its 1080p glory.

I currently have an LG Spectrum, it's a pretty good phone. Before that I had an LG EnV Touch 2, and before that an LG EnV Touch, and before that an LG EnV 2. Can you tell what brand I like for phones? My favorite was definitely the EnV Touch. Great battery life, indestructible, easy to use, decent (for an ancient phone) camera. For my next phone I'll probably go LG.

(sorry if this post sounds unintelligent, I'm not big on technology which is why I don't venture into these forums much...)

I currently have an iPhone 4S. I love it very much and have had it for about a year and a half. However, the battery life is horrible (as anyone would expect to occur over time) and I find myself having to recharge it every time I come home from school. This is getting quite annoying and I have put some thought into getting one of those rechargeable cases. However, I figured that would be useless due to the fact that my upgrade is in a few months. I know the Galaxy S4 has been released and it looks quite tempting. I'm not so sure about making the transition from IOS to Android. Many of my friends have iPhone's and I very much enjoy iMessage. Does anyone have the S4 and could compare it to an iPhone? (Doesn't need to be a 4S)

Got my new GS4 today!!! Its amazing!!! Also got the flip case, cos I loved it on my GS3. Now wondering what to do with my old gs3.

Isn't it amazing!! What color is yours? Mine is the black mist one.

Also ranman, my girlfriend has an s3, and when we compared them they do look kind of similar but you can tell the differences.

Most phones look the same now. Only phones that are different looking each model is HTC phones period. But GS series is pretty cool, iphones are kinda out of date to me.

Had a iphone and now have the S3. For me the s3 is amazing. Iphone is kinda plain. It does everything great and that's it. After the first couple days you learn everything there is to do. The s3 I can change anything I want whenever. I didn't like the keyboard so I just downloaded another better one. The text app sucked so I got a great one. You can really customize it exactly to your personal likings. Some people don't care about that and just want the phone to work and that's it so iphone is a perfect for that. Imessage I don't get why people even like. It uses the exact same text app so you could text or imesssage someone and can't even tell the difference except for a color change. I use whatsapp for free texting because it's the same as Imessage only works on all platforms and always works unlike Imessage which is sometimes down.

Best part about the s3 is the removable back. People hate the plastic feel and use it as a negative however just go on ebay and buy a metal back for like a dollar. You can even buy larger batteries for it and a sd card. Mine has a total of 80gb now which is awesome because I can store all my music videos whatever. You can even plug a ps3 controller into the phone and use it to play games. A cheap attachment allows you to use a HDMI to display the display out. I love mine and die when i use my iphone now a days. Only bad things is no easy backups to the degree of an iPhone and except no updates. Iphone gets updates each year and all older phones get the newest as well at same time. Android phones you will wait at least 6 months after its related to get it and if you don't have a popular phone maybe not at all.

Thanks for the feedback! The Samsung Galaxy phones do sound quite amazing compared to the iPhone. One of the main reasons I prefer iMessage (which I probably should have stated earlier) is the fact that you can create group chats. Group chats are quite fun and pretty useful. Another thing with iMessage is I don't think it counts towards your text limit with your phone carrier (I'm not quite sure about this, someone please correct me if I'm wrong). I do like the fact that Android has more customization. It's almost as if the Android has more life to it. Another quick question, how is the battery life on your S3. Could anyone relate the battery life of the S3 or the S4 to an iPhone 4/4S for me?

Most high end Android phones do exactly what he described. The advantage to going Android is you get to choose a phone which fits your needs/wants. You can pick screen sizes up to 5", camera quality, water/dust resistant etc. You can have plastic or premium feeling phones. It's not a one size fits all case like the iPhone. Don't limit yourself to the Galaxy series either, have a look at whats out there and pick a phone based on what you want from it.

Battery life on phones are relative to what you are doing with them. I charge mine every night (it's not dead, probably about 20~30% charge). If I have a couple of low use days, the battery can run for 3 days before I need to charge it.

I agree. However, I have heard that many people like the Galaxy phones and the S4 does look very sleek and stylish. :)
