Depends on brand and model, if it is this one: Link then probably worth buying if memory cards are expensive in Egypt. Personally I think it is better to have extra space and speed and maybe the 64GB price might come down further as it seems it is much more expensive for that one compared to the 32GB one in comparison to UK prices.

Noted, will hold on for a better class 10 deal (not in a hurry anyway) again thanks alot Saidur

Today was the last day in my phones life. I was putting it in my pocket, it caught on my pants and fell to the ground, cracking the screen (Not a problem) but causing the whole LCD to malfunction big time. (A problem) It was getting slower and slower, worse and worse (As I've found all Apple Products seem to do, right around a new phone release. Weird) and has lead me to get frustrated from time to time. Still though, this phone has been with me for quite a while, and I did quite like it.

That being said it is the last iPhone I will use for a while. Tomorrow I'll be heading down to get a new phone. I've been eying the LG G3 for a while, considering it must've been the choice for best phone two years in a row for a reason. To those that have this phone, how do you like it on a day-to-day basis?

Also those who have switched from Apple to Android, how easy was the switch? I don't have games on my phone, and I really wasn't invested in Apple's ecosystem much. I used my phone for calling and texting, music, social media, and of course GTPlanet, Reddit, and Miata.net. I'm mostly worried about music and contacts. Any photos will be saved to the computer, and any apps I can just download over again.

Well, anyone who switched from iOS to 4.4.2 may have had a harder time, but Lollipop looks like an easier transition for Android newcomers. Find a phone running Lollipop. From what I've read, you shouldn't mind it one bit.

So today I picked up a new phone. I originally was going to pick up the LG G3. I got to the store and played around with the iPhone 6, Galaxy S5, HTC One M8, and the LG G3.

The iPhone felt nice as all iPhones do, but I know the experience will fade by the time the 7 comes along. Still, high quality materials and decently fast with a familiar, attractive OS.

The Galaxy S5 was nice as well, felt like a direct competitor to the iPhone. However the materials just weren't quite there, and both the LG G3 and HTC One do the things I really want a little better.

The LG G3 was very nice. Large screen, 2K display, and little bezels. The buttons on the back didn't bother me much, however I prefer my volume buttons to be on the side, it's just easier that way. Documented tests show the M8 to perform a little faster, with a little bit sharper camera. The phone was on sale for $1.00. However there is one thing I really can't get over. That was the plastic feeling, which was the main gripe towards the Galaxy S5. If I want a flagship smartphone, I want it to feel like it.

So I think you can tell which phone I chose. I went with the M8, it was more expensive, but worth it. Better speakers, better camera, slightly faster, and the screen shouldn't drain the battery as much. Sure the Bezels are bigger, and the screen isn't 2k, but you can't notice it in daily usage. I also like the minimalist OS design they went with. Plus that metal casing. Ooh ja.

I'm very happy with my phone. The whole iOS to Android switch took all of 30 minutes. Maybe one day I'll switch back to iOS. However so far, Android is very good. From what I feel, there is no real winner in the Android vs. iOS camp. They both do the same things, you can just customize one over the other.

I'm hoping that next year LG and Samsung switch to metal backings. It's just nicer. I feel personally like HTC and LG will soon be larger competitors in the market, especially if they keep up what they've done with both the M8 and G3. Overall I'm extremely happy with the phone, and can't wait to see how it daily's for the next two years until I'm eligible for another upgrade!

Hey guys

I was going to upgrade from my HTC 8X to a LG G3 come December 25th, but my mom figured she would take advantage of Cyber Monday and get one for free with Verizon. Being the kind of person I am, I don't like having the same phone as other people. So I was looking into the Blackberry Z10 since it was also free on Verizon's website, and I was wondering if it was any good or if I should look elsewhere. Not a big fan of Samsung or anything Apple, but I am willing to open my mind to other things. Any suggestions?

Out of interest, why do you think the experience will fade by then?

Depends on what other phones are free too. I personally switched from an Android phone to a BlackBerry Q10 and like the OS better and it seems it will get even better soon.

I guess that sponsoring with Mercedes AMG F1 team for nearly two years now hasn't worked that well for them.

Haha, yes. A lot of people think Blackberry has been bust for a while now. :) I'm not too sure about the Xperia. The soft keys; I don't like the icons. Is there a way to change them without rooting it?

For the icons and keys with android L releasing, they'll be getting a makeover no doubt.

Got a HTC O1NE M8... not 'arf.

Sorry, but it's a ridiculous phone... it's not even a phone... it's a plank. I remember when people called mobiles 'bricks', bricks at least are more ergonomic and easier to hold than planks....

And when you say the name... you become Smashy.. or Nicey...

I'm tempted to put the sim back in my old HTC Desire S, that at least fits in my pocket, and does all the same stuff I need it to... and it's survived this long, I don't see the One Mate lasting more than 2 months without the screen getting cracked.

.. and no I didn't choose it, it's from work, my boss thought it would be funny since all I did was complain about my iPhone 5 thing.

You would definitely like the Note 4. :sly:

I have a nexus 5, and am waiting patiently for the Nexus 6 to be released in the UK.

Having said that, the screen on the Note 4 is lovely!

I'm using my LG G3 for a good 3 or so months now. I've rooted it, unlocked it, and flashed an Android L ROM. It seems like the G3 benefits from the ART runtime - no hitches, nothing. Everything's smooth and consistent. The battery does drain a little more than I'd hoped but it gets me through the day. Obviously the ROM I flashed is still being developed so I run into bugs here and there. LG's stock ROM is still pretty good, but it's far from a flashed experience.

When the Nexus 6 came out I was thinking of switching to it but I feel the G3 will be a good phone for a while. I saw the N6 at a store one time and I have to say, it does look pretty stunning. I wish I could try it out for a week and see how it compares to my flashed G3.

Had the same issues when I got my xperia z2, had no idea it was that big and even today I can't sit down with my phone in my tight jeans, but now I love the size, actually feels weird when I use my friend's iphones they feel tiny.

I'm on a 2013 Nexus 7. Cannot play video through the photos app, YouTube, anywhere. According to the link below, the issue effects everyone.

http://www.gottabemobile.com/2014/11/19/nexus-android-lollipop-problems/

Apologies for the late reply. I don't watch a lot of video on my phone but on the handful of occasions that I've accessed Youtube via the app or a forum link, the videos have played fine.

The only issue I've experienced is a warning message to say there was a problem with Google search but in fact it has also worked perfectly fine each time I've used it.

I have a white S4 that's somewhat cracked. Vibration motor and front camera are getting replaced soon. Hoping for the front screen (not the actual LCD screen) to get fixed too.

You can buy a OnePlus One for a limited time right now, without an invite.

Its been exactly one month with my OnePlus One and I have to say, its perfect. Everything's been running smoothly and I've yet to have any problems. The only thing I dislike is the size. It's just a tiny bit larger than what I'm use to.

I have a Samsung SII running Jellybean 4.3.3 which has overheated and has been sent in for a credit if i am lucky and a Google Nexus 5 running 5.0.1 lollipop and it is rooted.

I finally replaced my laggy, crappy and freezes for no reason whatsoever 2-year old Sony Xperia U for a Asus Zenfone 5. First impressions: "look at this screen! Look at this ZenUI! Look at this fastness! Look at this camera!" I'm pretty happy with it.

Because of Christmas, a Motorola Moto G. For the price range, I'm thoroughly impressed so far.
