Just had FedEx overnight me a N93i since my N93 crapped out during a flash of the firmware. :indiff: No other phone on the market can beat the camera on the N93, so much so that I gave up my digital camera for the N93. The main differences between the N93 and N93i are the design and improved camera with a continuous auto-focus.

Nokia N93i

2.4-inch QVGA high resolution display
3.2-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, auto-focus and 30-FPS VGA video recording
Music player with MP3 and WMA support
MP3 ringtones
50 MB of onboard memory
miniSD memory card expansion, 128 MB card bundled
TV out with S-Video support
Wi-Fi 802.11g connectivity with UPnP support
Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity with dial-up networking, headset, keyboard and printing support
USB 2.0 connectivity with PictBridge support
Speaker Independent Voice Dialing
Tri-band GSM with EDGE
3G with video calling
118 x 56 x 28 mm, 180 g
3.5 hours of talk time, 7 days of standby

Sweet looking phone. But I heard while it is lighter than the N93 there's still a fair weight to it.

And it's certainly not cheap

No, it's slightly smaller and lighter. But the N93 was a fairly big phone (compared to others on the market...) if I remember right.

There is about a 1/4 inch difference between the N93 and N93i while laying flat. There is also a noticeable difference in weight, but make no mistake about it, these phones are thick.

The funny thing is that I took these pictures with my N90, which has a cracked secondary screen. :indiff:

I have used the k800 before, however I still prefer the N93. The shock value and coolness factors are a plus as well.

Ive got the K750i like most people have, I love it! You can customize nearing everything in the OS plus it has the build quality of Sony and a great camera..... I was tempted by the K800 but I think im going to skip afew generations (because cameras, features change) before buying another but I think I will def stick with Sony.

This is the upcoming replacement to the K800..... K810 and boy is it beautiful... I love those milled alu buttons sitting on what looks like galss :dopey:

I wish SE would make all their phones quad band. I'd get a K810 in a heartbeat!

Dear god those are some healthy specs! Still wouldn't buy one instead of my K800i, though. It's just a tad too big on dimensions and price sadly. Not that I'd say no if someone gave me one :sly:

Anyone have a Palm Treo 700? I'm looking into it - it talks to Macs, has a decent camera, QWERTY keyboard and PDA-like functions.

Just out of interest, what is quad band and what benefits does it bring because I thought with Tri Band you could already talk all over the world??

GSM Cellular companies in the US (and I guess Canada too)*cough*Cingular and TMobile*cough* use 850mhz band as well as 900, 1800, and 1900 in certain areas. Tri-band phones not made specifically for the US market do not support this 850mhz band and therefore do not receive a signal if there are no other frequencies to use. I had this issue with my k750 every once in a while. For the most part, it worked flawlessly 90% of the places I went, but the other 10% (namely, the street my sister lives on in Alabama), it did not receive a signal at all and I got the "Emergency Calls Only" heading instead of where it says the service provider on the screen. Also, quad bands phones are sometimes known as "world phones" as the support ever frequency used around the world and can be used anywhere in the world because of this.

I had my sisters ghetto LG as my first phone and then I fell into a pond while screwing around with my friends, and the ending - new phone.

Then I had a Samsung VI660. Good phone, LOTS of abuse, insane.

I then canceled the Sprint account we had and bought a LG Chocolate, and it was horrible, it would call people in my pocket because it was so touch sensitive. So I sold it to my sister.

I bought a Razr V3M now. Good phone, I'm not asking for more. Plus it's only for a year, so it's not bad.

The reason I am leaning towards the 8525 or F700 over the iPhone is the lack of a real QWERTY keyboard from Apple. 👎

Also, the additional codecs and 5mp camera are nice bonuses. :)

Well looks like I wont be waiting for either anymore.

I needed to renew my cell service with Cingular so after doing some research on deals, I was given a recommendation to look at www.letstalk.com who broker cellular contracts for all the major carriers. I was really amazed on just how good a deal they were willing to give me. After some negotiating over the phone, for signing a 2-year agreement with Cingular/ATT through LetsTalk for no more than anywhere else, they gave me all of the following for free:
UPDATED: They upgraded at no cost the Motorola H500 to a much better headset, Plantronics Discovery 655

Definitely consider checking out their promotions next time you are renewing or changing cell service. It also pays to negotiate over the phone wih them, as that's how we got the best deal. Although for a little less hassle, their internet deals are quite impressive on their own.

I got:

The old Nokia 5190; now my dad's. This thing is damn huge.

We needed a new phone so we got:

The Samsung X150; dead; simply dead. Went through the wash. great phone. You only get the phone. no games no nothing.

Got replaced by:

The Samsung X150 Quiksilver; Same thing except Quiksilver :dopey: .

Now i use the:

Sony Ericsson w300i Walkman; Awesome phone, $200, has everything about a $400 phone has. :)

All the phones (except for dead samsung) are working perfectly. :)

Well, i recently renewed my contract with Orange and i got a Sony Ericsson W950i as a free upgrade!

So far im impressed with the phone. I was a little skeptical at the battery life as it was quoted at a shocking 2 days and only 4 hours talk time but i have had the phone since monday and it still hasnt needed a charge and i have given it a fair amount of use, It will however be needing a recharge by this evening.

Some of you may notice or know that the phone lacks a camera which doesnt really bother me as ive had plenty of cam phones and to be honest i never used it and i have a digital camera for taking photos anyway. The phone also has a 4gb hard drive which is swallowing up songs like nobodys business and thankfully you can just drag and drop files rather than having to use some poncy bit of software sony have a tendancy to use with their mp3 players. The sound quality it produces is amazingly good, every bit as good as my old ipod and the headphones that come with the phone are great, not only do they block out noise from around you they also stop everybody else having to listen to my music.

The operating system is pretty easy to use but took me about an hour to become acustomed too due to the fact that my last 4 phones have been windows mobile based but i am liking the simplicity and the added feature of a touchscreen helps navigating a effortless task. The touchscreen also allows the infamous Sony Ericsson joystick to be deleted from this model and was a releif as i personally know that they are bothersome things and break very easily with relatively little use.

The screen (262,144 color touchscreen - 240x320 pixel) is wonderfully clear and the touchscreen itself is very precise, i havnt tried any videos on the phone yet but the animations played whilst using the mp3 player are of very good quality and i hope that videos will played back with the same quality.

Emails and text can be entered into the phone via 3 ways, using your thumbs on the keypad, using the stylus and the hand writing recognition tool or the on display keypad. All three methods of entering text are straight forward and the hand writing recognition is great with the exception of when i write an "i". I can never quite dot the I before it accepts the character but my main method of entering text is via the button less keypad anyway.

My only gripe is possibly the size (106 x 54 x 15 mm) but i already knew how big the phone was and it saves me having to carry around a phone and an mp3 player, I decided this was a fair trade off.

Overall im very impressed with the phone and along with the reduction of my talk plan now down to £20 a month including gold insurance (covers any loss, accidental damage etc) from £25 for the same talk plan but with more anytime minutes (300 now instead of 200),more texts (250 now instead of 200) and 4mbs of free data downloads for use on the interweb etc thrown in for free have made me a very happy chap. It took a while to haggle Orange onto the said talkplan (it doesnt exist as a regular tarif) but i have been with orange for over 5 years now so they seemed to be happy to play ball.

I dont think this phone is for everybody but it seems to be the perfect phone for me as all i wanted it to do is call people, text people, send/receive emails and play music.

So far the phone gets a solid 10/10 from me but i havnt had it long enough to find out all possible annoyances.

Nice phone, thanks for sharing your first impressions of it. 👍

By the way, I also love my W800's earphones for the exact same reasons you described. Also, its bass is really good.

going into my 3rd year with a SonyEricsson P910i
I am really satisfied with this phone, so no reason for me to get a new one
keyboard is detachable, so I took that off

I'm actually very jealous. Admittedly I wouldn't be able to live without the camera, but that looks rather awesome :D. You got out of the SPVs right before they became unpopular:

No kidding ;)

I have a Motorola i850 and I use Nextel service for it. It's nothing special but it makes and receives phone calls, has the internet, and can take crappy pictures.

Wow, I forgot about this thread when I changed my phone...

I recently ditched NEXTEL for Sprint (free to change), and unfortunately caved and bought into the whole RAZR (RED) deal.

Thus far, I can't be too disapointed. Call quality is good, signal reception is the best I've had in a long time, and overall the phone does well with the various tasks I give it. I often use it as an MP3 player, but right now the MicroSD card that came with the phone can't hold too much, so I'm limited to about a CD's worth of music. I can also watch television on it, part of a $15 plan, which also included unlimited data service, so the Internet stuff is kinda neat. The 1.3 Megapixel camera works well enough, and is handy for a few quick pics when you see something special.

...For $30 I can't complain. They didn't have the "not cool" Samsung A900m that I wanted, but thats alright I guess.

Just bought a bronze 3.2MP SE K800i to replace my defunct 750i, broken MP3 player and waterlogged 'waterproof' camera...

Right now I own a T-Mobile Sidekick 2.

Which I like...Bought it off a coworker used for $80. But I have decided to downgrade soon. It's just too much phone for me, I guess.

So I'm going to this...

Simple. Cheap. Loving it.

Plus, I heard they're durable as anything.

I got a white version of this model for my girlfriend on Christmas. It could have a bigger memory and bluetooth support, but you never go wrong with a Nokia! 👍

You'll love it 👍

I didn't know they did it in bronze. I saw a silver one today and I felt so mundane owning a black one...

My phone is awesome.

Got it for free from a friend of mine who, in turn, had got it for free from his sister. Then he spray painted the purple cover black, which is slowly coming off. It does everything I need it to do - i.e. phone, text and remind me about stuff. It's even got a colour screen; it's green. But it survives everything I've thrown at it, and thrown it at; if I've got an armful of stuff, I can guarantee the phone will fall first. This happens often. People keep telling me to get a new one, but I don't really see the point; I know how to use it (sort of) and it works, which is all I ask.

No idea what it is though.

It's a Nokia 3310 or a 3330 (a 3330 if it has WAP support).

My Dad and Auntie still have one. They're like the Defender 90s of the phone world.
