bugman=chilicoke?

Again, too much credit :)

I used his design ques to build mine. I liked it, but, I needed it a bit more suited to me; Hence the angled arm rest, flat platform for stuff to sit but angled wheel mount, built-in (removeable) tv mount, rubber isolated buttkicker mount under the seat, etc

Fully adjustable, with a Porsche 914 seat!

Home-made wheel stand / craigslist ($20) 240sx seat with sliders/recline.

Mounted wheels on the nose so it can be rolled from storage to TV wheelbarrow style.

Measurements made from my evo and translated as close as possible to the device. Custom reverse/hung pedals and modded brake pedal spring for stiffer resistance.

Did the hanging pedal mod and 240sx seat just prior to game release. Stiffer brake spring just before gt academy started. 80th place west region 250th overall. Noticeable room for improvement and have spent about 3 hours total time so-far.

Considering the chilicoke.com wheel adapter to run a larger diameter wheel.... All of these mods were made specifically for a more realistic gaming experience, not just for gt academy.

That's awesome.

I just upgraded (...er downgraded?) my g25 to a new DFGT (Sony price matched the Best Buy $99.99 sale). Not to get cocky, but if I have a chance to make Orlando I want to get used to the infamous squishy pedals (and boy are they soft). I tried my trusty old Driving Force PRO!!1! but that didn't cut it - the 200 degrees was not enough to for me to modulate the steering and control these slippery cars.

I just drove for about an hour or so, a little at each track - and I actually got faster at Tsukuba, dropping my first .1 (1:05.143).

I'm going to try to hold out and give this a try for the rest of round 1 and NOT use the bungee pedal mod that Hunk so graciously shared with us all so I can get used to the air-soft pedal feel.

I use the Driving Force Pro, it has 900 degrees of rotation by default.

Great time on Tsukuba. Anything under 1:05.4 is pretty damn quick I think.

I can take pics of my embarrassing "cockpit" now. Charging battery. I think it is the first time I go use my 20D and the battery is dead in 5 years lol

Play on a 32 inch LG tv. My dad had some leftover 1 inch square iron tubing. I came up with the design and demensions while he fabricated it. Spray painted black and added weight in the bottom. Works great and will fit in the closet. Has adjustable height and length.

I am top 25 in south with less than 2 hours put into it.

My bad, I think it was the GT Force - it was the old logitech wheel that's like 7" in diameter and has the neon blue rubber grip. For reference, I got it in like '02.

"Great time on Tsukuba" says the guy with a faster time at Tsukuba:tup:👍...like you said in another post, I think there's a 1:04.x out there. I doubt I'll be the first to string it together...

@Peluski - post a video of your Tsukuba lap and the experts in this forum can help critique it for you.

re: seat - I just use a camping folding chair that I got at the supermarket. However, check your local junkyard for an actual seat of a trashed car. Some of the best setups use real seats.

I made this for free and it works pretty well.

A old table I got from my grandma, which is around a 1970 end table. I turned it upside down and removed the doors. It has some good weight to it so it doesnt move at all.
The seat is from my 93 Mustang after I redid the interior in all black.
The piece where the shifter is attached was the top of the end table that was removable.

Here it is in action back in early December. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rrt5UGBqa7o
I know the date is wrong.

Don't have a great recording device but I can try using my cell phone to capture it.

Seriously Scooty?! You had the wheel on your lap the whole time you were playing Forza?

Haha, yeah I remember him telling us that in NYC. Whats up fellas, made an account on here just for this contest. 👍

TV Tray Son! Haha, it sucks but I have been able to post some decently fast times. Gonna work on getting something better for round 2.

I like how we all have our trophies on display. I'm still working on turning mine into an epic beer mug.

Haha, I like my little trophy, it fits my shelf perfectly. We all can't have ginormous ones like AJ :sly:

U kidding me man?

Ok, first of all your wheel is mounted to a folding table that undoubtedly wobbles from the force feedback. Matter of fact your monitor probably wobbles as well, not that you can see your monitor anyway because the wheel is probably blocking half the screen. And then you are sitting in an office chair that not only looks uncomfortable but it also swivels for God's sake. Also you probably arent even resting your back on the chair because you cant scoot it in far enough because of the armrests. You might as well be sitting on a barstool.

But yet you have all the top times in round 1 (well almost).

You are gonna love that playseat!

You've inspired me to post up my ghetto setup later on that is similar to yours. Please excuse the crappy quality pic. Surprisingly, the chair doesn't really move around too much, its just really uncomfortable.

Damnit. This broke: camping chair

Now I'm using a beach chair...bad timing since I'm just starting to get used to the DFGT, and have yet to beat my G25 times at Rome and Cape.

Ahhh I see the problem here. See you got the camping chair with only ONE cup holder, See it doesn't have the extra reinforcements that my DOUBLE cup (beer) holder chair has.

Seriously, with a set-up like he has now, could you imagine if he were comfortable. Hello 5 min overall time.

If you only knew the quality of chair that just fell apart. I posted the link to the same style chair at target, but I actually picked up 4 of them from a local supermarket for like $6/piece...

Wow, its freaky how similar our tables are. Did you build yours, too? We even have the same rollers on the bottom!

Btw, whats with the olympic plates?
