So what's everyone using for headsets/headphones with a mic? I want to pick up a decent set to do some online racing with you guys but dont want to end up paying $80 if they are POS's.

Forgot to add a pic on my original post.

I have a Rocker chair but it doesn't work since the coffee table forces me to mount the wheel high. It kinda feels like driving a truck.

Oh, and FYI, I've been too lazy to pack up the Christmas tree.

Great minds think alike? I had all the tell-tale hangover gear on; flannel PJ pants a hood from middle school and the hand stamp from the bar I visited the previous night.

Hahaha... I was rocking my flannel PJs all day last Sunday as I ran Cape.

And yeah, my seat is pretty comfortable. I do a lot of karting so I am used to the positioning. My only gripe is that I don't have enough clearance to heel-toe with the way the pedals are mounted; I am left foot braking and shifting with the paddles. I may throw a cheep seat on for some more neck support, but I can sit for hours in it.

Pjs remind me of my old kart suit :).... I think I got the best time in my pjs and a hoodie. Anyone from the top post some of their best times in their pjs, this could be fun knowledge.

oh hell yeah, PJ's and slippers is what I was wearing wearing when I set my fastest laps on the last day of round 1!

Heres a small video of my set up. I been sim racing with the same G25 since its release years ago. I finished round one around 78th in the west.

Built this beast over the weekend, just in time for Round 2.

The seat is out of my '72 Opel GT, lol.

Materials:

two sheets of plywood, three 1x2s, and liquid nails = $60.
bolts, washers, and nuts = $5
and I 'found' a 2x6 nearby that I cut into three 27" pieces that I used for structural supports under the deck there = $0
nails and screws = already had them, $0

total = $65

Well I don't have a pic right now but I'll try to upload one later. I'm using a 2yr old G25 attached to a Playseat Evolution and racing on a Sony XBR6 46". I've done a couple of mods with more in the design and construction phase. The top half of my wheel broke and was only hanging on by the leather wrap so I bought a Sparco 310 F1 style racing wheel and attached it using a 3.5" dia piece of aluminum that I milled down to a half inch thick...wheel to disk, disk to original G25 mounting holes. The potentiometer in both my accelerator and brake pedals came lose and in the process of researching a fix, I came across the Perdect Pedal brake mod, wow what a difference! I also have a nice aluminum shift knob that I have yet to put on and I'm working on building my own metal framed rig which will let me drive heel & toe (can't do with Playseat Evo). PSN...F1_DRAGON_USA

I'll be trying to move up the leaderboard on Sunday with my DIY sim. The seat is from a 300M Chrysler (power adjustment & heated seat still function) :) although the heated function isn't used very often.

Nice CART rear wing!

I use a Bob Earl VRC. It sits a bit low and I had to make a wooden angle-fixer for the pedal base to get it comfortable but it seems to work well enough. The wheel is very stable.

The book is there to keep the pedals from sliding down since they're not hard-mounted.

Really old pic of the rest of the cockpit from GT4 days:

[I use a DFGT now after the DFP pedals stopped working altogether]

Am using DFGT atm. But i have order Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 Wheel and Clubsport pedals made of aluminium. It says it will come in 2 days now!:) I belive this is the best wheel for me out there. But come to think of am going to miss my handbrake on the DFGT wheel. So guess i have to find a nice solution for that
