  • special cars only for people who pre-order
  • unadjustable FOV, stiff 3rd person camera
  • no livery editor
  • no day- night / weather transitions
  • not beeing able to save during endurance races
  • if standard / pro physics make it in
  • no realastic tire wear
  • if collision mode cannot be turned off
  • lag
  • if sport cars sound like vacuum cleaners
  • no realistic fuel consumption
  • steril never changing track surfaces
  • no real rally stages

Hey, you asked and yes I`m prepared for dissapointment. :dunce:

Got to have superb engine/exhaust/mechanical wines/induction/turbo/s'charger/wastegate sounds. Also flame spitting could be improved 10 fold, but too late now i think. Also great tyre sound and lighting from headlights.

I would be disappointed if the whole thing just feels like GT4 with updated graphics and physics. Improvements? The AI of opponent cars should react realistically to the players position on the track and not bump into you. Last but not least I want wreckless driving to be reduced drastically by race rules and notable repair bills. In GT4 we could drive as bad as we wanted if just our cars were tuned enough to go faster than the AI. And engine sounds on each car should be as authentic as possible. Generally, I want the game to go deeper in pretty much every aspect and have a bunch of small details that remind you of when you watch a race on TV.

I would be disappointed if the weather and damage can't be turned off especially if it is real time when playing online because i think most people will favour sunny dry tracks plus it always rains in england !!!also if the engine sounds are really poor, there is probably more but im expecting to be disappointed anyway to be honest.

I have to admit I will be quite disappointed without cockpit view in more than 170 cars. I can live with every other thing that may or may not be in the game and not be truly disappointed. With everything this amazing game/simulator offers, my biggest problem with Gran Turismo is driving outside the car. I have done it since GT1, and was really looking forward to cockpit after hearing all cars would have them. Driving from the cockpit gives a sense of immersion like nothing else.

Sorry Racer. The figure for no cockpit is actually closer to 800 not 170.
There are about 200 cockpits I believe.

The only thing that I am looking for in GT5 that hasn't already been confirmed/denied is SOUND. Exhaust, tire scrub/squeal, gravel in the rally stages. I may cry if GT5 sounds anything remotely like GT4. A few of the vids seem to have better tire squeals, but I still haven't heard anything to sell me on the sound.

Anybody who went to Gamescom care to share your audible experience from the demo?

Right now, according to the information we have on GT5, I'd say my biggest dissapointment would be if PD didn't bother to even slightly update the exterior detail of the Standard Cars :nervous:, as it looks like their doing. The "no cockpits" issue on the Standards isn't even bothering me much because I prefer bumper cam :).

Second on my list of dissapointments would be the fact that both the night and weather features won't be available on all tracks. But this is a minor thing for me. I've been used to having most of my racing games with constant weather and daylight on their tracks so...

The thing thats going to disappoint me is unless its the wording it looks like a spec and b spec will be 2 different game modes unlike gt4 where you pick what races you wanted to do and what bob would do and what parts of races wanted to do.

The progression of races and careers are mostly the same in both A-Spec and B-Spec, and both feature the same ending. Choose one way to play, or master and complete both modes to experience life as a driver from both behind the wheel and as a team director.

Judging from this last paragraph on the official site, it looks like they are two different modes, but here's hoping I'm wrong. I would be disappointed if this were the case too. Really hoping you don't have to play through both modes to complete the game 100%. :(

My biggest dissapointment is the lack of a livery editor, for me it adds so much to a game and all GT competitors have one.

The other thing that is dissapointing is GT5 doesnt do many things 'fully' or 'properly', everything is limited to one thing or another, be it damage, graphical detail, cockpit view, track editing, weather, day night cycle.

You should be able to do everything in all of the game! PD shouldnt have aimed so high and then delivered bits of functionality here and there. Hopefully over time with updates it might become a more compete game.

Robin.

The Honda CR-Z isn't premium, or the car modification doesn't show up in in-game appearance. e.g Race exhaust muffler, but the standard one is still on the car...

I'll be dissappointed if, given the newest version of the Peugeot 908 is included, the 2010 version of the Audi R15 isn't included.
It can't be becasue it came too late, if they have the latest version of the 908,
And considering the R15 actually won the 24Hrs Du Mans this year it would be even more of a dissappointment.
It is kind of a bummer that the actual winning 908's from previous years aren't included but thats somewhat understandable as they were XBOX/Forza sponsored,
I just don't like it when a race car is only included becasue it was Playstation/Sony/GT sponsored instead of becasue it was a genuienley great car, hence why I want the R15.

This of course is under the pretence that we have had no confirmation that it is in the game(I know it works the other way round)
But given that the 908 was debuted at the GT booth at Le Mans(had the luck to experience it) and there was no Audi it didn't bode too well.

You mean more affordable than a $60 million budget with who knows how much profit reaped from GT5P along the way?

stupid way to keep this thread alive, like this reply for example, Mr."I don't know about production cost and management costs"

Agree. This is starting to look like a great, but unfinished symphony. BUT - I know some people groan at this, buuuuutttt - GT6. This is the first full GT on this console, and traditionally the second time around they deliver what feels like a much more complete game. I remember GT1 and GT3 just as fondly as their sequels though, so I'll relax and enjoy this game knowing we will get a lot of stuff in GT6.

Livery editor is pretty much top of my list too and contrary to popular belief Kaz seems more and more eager to respond to demands of the fanbase these days. In GTP's interview with him he seemed aware how wanted it was and his response was encouraging I think. (Well, encouraging for a "no" anyway )

I really hope the R15 from 2010 will make in it in the final premium list. There's still time. There's no way the old 2006 R10 which is included can keep up with the new 908.

Frankly, after all the goodies we're getting in GT5, I won't be disappointed at all. However, I will be disappointed in people if they don't appreciate what we're getting. This game will make every other racing game seem inadequate in so many ways.

I appreciate what I'm getting.
It will also make other games feel superior in certain areas too.

I really hope some ALMS or at least EU LMS cars make it in.

C6R, DBR9, Saleen S7R, BMW M3 GT2, Ferrari F430GT, Murcielago RGT, etc. Mostly just the first two.

I'm also hoping there will be the inclusion of the Audi R15+ to go with the 908.

Also kinda disappointed that a lot of race cars from various companies haven't been included EG Panoz LMP, Acura LMP's, Aston Martin racing DB9, Cadillac LMP ETC

Here's hoping there will be an even amount of car types added to the game.

I guess my last nit-picky thing that I would be disappointed in not having is better settings for FFB on wheels. I would very much like the ability to turn "Environmental Effects" off as I find the chattering of FFB rather annoying when I go over "bumps" on the track.
