What's the one thing you hate most about your home country?

Where I currently live or where I came from?

My home country is not the country I'm living in.

I think it's gotta be the bonkers traffic jam for me:

Yes, I know, some countries have it worse.

Anyway, I'm not in my home country right now. :D

I hate how a lot of people love to complain about how terrible things are politically and socially, yet don't bother trying to change anything.

I hate that everyone thinks I ride my Kangaroo to school!

You don't?

I'm going to have to completely change how I view Australia now.

He's not old enough for a licence that's why.

For me it's probably political correctness going a bit too far. In general I'm pretty happy with my lot and don't let anything bother me that I can't control, life's too short.

The inferiority complex. Ask a group of Canadians what Canada is all about and they'll spout off things that we do differently than America and circle jerk about guns and health care.
Also this. Not French Canada itself, but the attitudes towards French Canadians on display here.

One thing hey? Should I say taxes, the stupid perks of being a politician, our judicial system, the poor decision-making abilty regarding economy from banks and politicians, the lack of jobs, stupid college subjects that are wortheless, low salaries for a high-priced form of living, our laziness and lack of will to work, but then there are no jobs and companies are failing and I could go on and on. But worse was when our president said that his pension isn't enough for him (13,500€) whereas a random family with a disabled man (woman) and a working member earning minimum salary (450€) and two children have to live and tighten their belt with little support from the gorverment. This is an example of what's wrong with this 🤬 up country.

The thing I hate most about my country ( France ) is french people this is why i'm now living in the UK and nothing can make me come back.
France is the worst country to live in except if you don't have any ambition or if you want to work for the government but it is the best country for Holidays.

Isn't that the essence of this thread though? ;)

@Danny Wow, I'm surprised someone finally made a thread like this before I did. (I had "What do you not like about your country?" in my mind for a couple of weeks.)

Such ungrateful citizens!!! :P

There is an infinite list of things I hate about my country but the one thing I hate the most is how backward thinking and narrow minded most of the people living here are. Yeah, I'm on my high horse.

This was a close answer for me, but since I'm in Toronto, my answer is so much simpler:

:P

In all seriousness, tying into what Noob's said: I hate how self-congratulatory the average Canadian is. So often, you'll hear people fall back on the "we Canadians are so polite" stereotype, and frankly, it's just not true. Canadians go out of their way to not get involved in others' business, but not in a good way; this city in particular is a very cold, very closed-off one, where simply making accidental eye contact with someone on the subway could lead to them being offended. Everybody stays in their own world, and after spending time in NYC last year, I was blown away by how genuinely friendly and helpful people were there.

You should come to the Maritimes. That's truly the biggest difference I've noticed after growing up in Ontario and then studying here. People are just so much more friendly and casual conversation with cashiers, waiters/waitresses, and strangers is so much more fulfilling. People are genuinely interested in other people's lives and incredibly friendly. You jaywalk in front of a car and they slam on the brakes and apologize.

The other difference is I've found people out here are much less concerned with material wealth and status. Granted that's probably because there's no money out here anyway :P

I hate the arrogance and ignorance of some people here in the United States and the United States Government and their belief that they have to be "big brother" to not just the US, but the world as well. Thirdly, the fact that most Americans only like American sports and not international sports like Football/soccer, cricket, rugby, and F1.

Pretty much the only racing most Americans acknowledge in NASCAR :irked:
About 20 years ago, Indycar/CART was the most popular form of Motorsport in the US with NASCAR in 2nd and F1 in 3rd. You can thank the sleaze ball Tony George for destroying Indycars popularity and the 2005 US GP for denting F1s popularity.

Corruption. Thieves in the government. President talking about "stability", and "fighting corruption" but without any visible results. And now, lying us about the situation in Ukraine.

Thieving and lying regime.
