What's the one thing you hate most about your home country?

Yes its a shame. Nearly everything is made in China these days. Although it would never happen I'd like to see stuff made in our home countries again like the old days. For example, Fans, TVs, Radios, Audio visual, Fridges & so on.

Me too, man, me too. Just about everything these days is made somewhere in the Eastern part of Asia - either Japan (who pulled the rug right out from under us in the area of appliances & consumer goods) or communist China/a developing nation where they can pay two cents an hour. Even big-ticket items like cars no longer have an easily-traceable national heritage - American cars are often built in Canada or Mexico to avoid the (admittedly obnoxious, GM may never have gone bankrupt if it weren't for them) unions, while BMW, Toyota, Honda, and possibly others have factories in the southern half of the U.S., which doesn't have as much union influence AFAIK. Meanwhile, Chrysler is Italian, Volvo is Chinese, and so on (see Azure's post above).

I always roll my eyes at people that complain about "everything" being made in China as they are mostly giant hypocrites. If you really have that big a problem with it speak with your wallet and only buy things made in the U.S(or your own home country).

It's a bit ignorant to assume that Chinese factory workers earn a few cents an hour. In the textiles industry perhaps that is true but I know people, many poeple, who work in electrical factories where phones, ovens, fridges and other white goods are made and those people are getting at least $300 a month at minimum. Now my mathmatical abilities aren't great but I fail to see how that equates to a few cents an hour.

And if you're talking about cars then I can tell you 100% truthfully that Chinese friends I have who are high level technicians at Ford's up the road from my house make around $1000 each month, so they aren't really undercutting anyone by much.

And if you think that because the cars are made here they'll be less costly for the domestic market, think again. The price of an average Ford or Chevrolet here is probably the same, if not more, than in the states. They're more than they cost in the UK, I know that for a fact.

Thats very hard to do not much made locally. All electronics for computers are not made locally. I try to buy stuff made here & its hard to. If more items were made here, USA & UK I'd be buying those over whats currently available.

There are certain things like electronics that aren't going to be possible as most of the companies are based in Asia, but there are options for things like clothing, furniture, cars, toys, etc. that you can/could buy locally. Sure they may cost more and the options may be slimmer, but the more domestic stuff people buy the more companies will see the appeal of manufacturing things there.

It's hard to pick just one, so this is kind of a conglomerate...

We (the U.S.A) act like we're the moral standard & police of the world. Many people here have this moronic attitude toward immigrants about how they should be deported, made to speak English etc, all the while forgetting that we are all here because we murdered the indigenous people and took the land from them. Unless someone is a Native American, we are all ILLEGAL immigrants. America has zero right to be the moral anything of the world.

Home country (Germany): people still feeling guilty about what happened 70-80 years ago PLUS, especially, other countries' politians trying to talk guilt into our politians and trying to blackmail the German government into paying them / giving them things for free / discounted. I'm looking at you, Israel...have fun with your submarines. Just an example but well, there's more.

Country I'm living in (France): Front National and the people who voted for them. I really cannot understand how people can vote for an openly racistic political party that, in essence, aims to deport all foreigners (no matter the skin color etc.) and what they're doing for and in the country. Hollande might not do a perfectly fine job but I prefer his ******** to Marine Le Pen and her squad of idiots any day.

Also, just in case and in before "MR. S, YOU'RE SUCH A NAZI!!!111": Mrs. S is Jewish.

Chrysler = Italian

Jaguar = Indian

Land Rover = Indian

Vauxhall = American

Holden = American

Opel = American

Volvo = Chinese

Mini = German (I still think they're British!)

That doesn't look right to me.

You obviously missed the point of this part. For example, Jaguar and Land Rover are owned by Tata Motors as subsidiaries, but that doesn't change the fact that the 2 companies are still British. The rest of in that list are the same way.

I love this country but it's very upsetting to me that even in 2014 we still have racism issues in the United States.

The Federal Government. Really, the government in general. It could be much worse, though.
