What's the ugliest car of all time?

Why? So you could be exposed to more crap?

Wait a minute, the nineties have past. So wouldn't you mean RE-exposed?

And the so-called "crap" being the:
Acura NSX
Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R (no, not the one with the big spoiler)
Lamborghini Diablo SV
Toyota Supra MKIV
Ferrari 550 Maranello
Ferrari F50
Dodge Viper GTS
and many other cars I can't think of at this moment.

Thanks Joey for smacking my upside the head, I didn't know what I was thinking! [/sarcasm]

Oh c'mon. It's not that bad if you throw it in black & color match the grille.

Besides, at least the SH-AWD model is still somewhat fun to drive. :P

I don't care if it was V8 and RWD its still the most ugly thing I've ever seen. And like Toronado said, the previous was so beautiful...why screw it up?

The car manufacturer's are making their new cars look... blahh. They look like cars that are going to be flying cars. Like I say, "Too futuristic, too early."

Rubbish. Remember this?

In 1998 everyone ran around screaming that it was too futuristic, but it's paid off - it arguably still looks fresh.

Unlike this:

Futuristic isn't a problem, ugly is a problem. Without that giant chrome beak, I suspect I could get used to that TL. I couldn't, however, get used to a BMW X6.

Sports cars and supercars are still designed well now, the average car was still just a ugly though back in the 90's....which is what you see most of the time.

I mean woah man, this might have to much styling!

okay, I don't get it. now literally EVERYTHING is officially called "ugly". what the bleep do you people think is universally appealing? NOTHING? yeesh.

the car companies (all of them) need to put together an esthetic research report.

So that's what you meant. I partially agree with you, but I still think the newer cars are getting uglier and uglier.

For example the Lamborghini Gallardo (although I wasn't too excited about it beforehand) looked better when it came out as opposed to what it looks like today.
This looks loads better...

*grand am*

The SE may be ugly as sin but the GTP looks pretty bitchin.

Because it's Honda? :P

That's quite an opinion, because the Gallardo's face lift was exactly what it needed. Hell, thanks to that, it's now regarded to as one of the most beautiful designs around.

It already was an intensely beautiful design. The Gallardo deserves a piece of fame in this thread's polar equivalent that is the 'mean and sexy cars thread'.

Agreed, I think it looks much more sharp and fierce.

After browsing the whole thread. The general consensus is that the Fiat Multipla, AND the Pontiac Aztec, are the ugliest cars ever made.

And that would include all Mitsuokas and most Ssangyongs, which everyone tearfully acquiesces as lost causes in the realm of automotive design.

Note: But, would you believe it, Ssangyong's new conceptual designs to go into future production are fairly sexy:

Well it look pretty much the same as the Mitsubishi up there... Anyway, for me the car looks more to the concept of Acura and Honda... They're nearly look the same...

The design is part of 20-model revamp of the lineup, each (mostly) designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Ripoff or not (almost every car brand is going to copy strong features from the cars of the competition), the new models are welcome in my book.

It should also be noted that Giugiaro himself is somewhat of an enigma on the subject of car design. He sketched masterpieces like the Alfa Brera and Maserati Quattroporte and yet is responsible for the hideous concoctions of metal that are the Hyundai Coupe ('00), Fiat Multipla, Citroen Ami and Marcos Mantis. Not to mention the Chrysler Crossfire and Dodge Nitro as well.

Creative genius is fleeting it would seem.

It's a brilliant car... but it's bloody ugly.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks this 👍

It's a good, original shape. But it's let down by overly fussy detailing. I see it as a shinny trinket first, serious supercar second.

👍 This.

Plus, the frankly "In The Night Garden" Dual spoiler. I'm sure it's functional, but Lord-A-Mercy it looks like child's drawing.

It's the interior i hate the most, it's like sitting inside a Chanel handbag designed by Jules Verne. :yuck:

It can always be worse.

I feel a bit sickened to put a Spyker creation (bar the awful SUV attempt) into this thread at all, but that's a tart's boudoir if ever I saw one.

Well bear in mind that the manufacturers probably had a fair degree of input when it came to the design process. At the end of the day it still has to fit into some kind of corporate identity, so you can't really blame Giugiaro for the Nitro when these are its siblings:
