After driving a stock Jaguar S-Type R, I can't think of any other car that sounds so off. It's more like an oil burner than a petrol powered V8 unless you upgrade to a sports exhaust.

Any other truly poor-sounding candidates?

I bought my Bentley speed 8 from the UCD, when I first started it up I thought it was going to blow the engine lol

The Corvette C6 with RM, it has the generic sound from GT3, nothing like a heavy V8:yuck:

And the i-Miev, it reminds me of a hot-dog in a microwave:crazy:

Ferrari Scuderia when you choose it in the garage and it starts, it sounds like a bag of spanners being thrown. sounds ok when racing but not quite so on turn over.

Audi A4 Touring Car. Sounds like a slot car...

Ssssssssssssssssssssssssss *shifts up* Sssssssssssssssssssssssssss...

Horrible.

This thread has the potential for 100+ pages :sly:

These cars are "supposed" to have a big heavy v8 sound

Camaro Race Car - 5.7 liter v8
Corvette C5R - 7.0 liter v8
Corvette ZR1 RM - 6.2 liter v8
Corvette Z06 RM - 7.0 liter v8

They fail miserably. The Corvette C5R has been wrong since GT3...Is Kaz doing this on purpose?

The Ferrari start up sound is amazing.

The C6 zo6 sounds terrible. Not even terrible for a V8, just terrible period. But I dont like corvettes so it doesnt really matter to me.

The dodge ram truck sounds like a honda with the racing exhaust installed lol.

I agree. i was in the all truck race and i heard an annoying ass noise in the back of me. I was expecting to see a nasty little civic with a fart can behind me but then i let the truck pass me and it all became clear.

C-WEST RAZO SILVIA '01

Sounds exactly like our lawnmower..

I saw a clip of that in another thread and it sounded awesome...weird

For me it has to be the '63 stock Vette, sounds like the engine is misfiring when you accellerate

Anything with Titanium Exhaust...or "fully" customizable tranny.

The problem with the tranny is that they got the audio balance wrong. Sure in some cars it will sound like that BMW whiny video, but in others, the engine and exhaust will eventually drown out the whine. Like most things in life, the tranny whine is not black and white.

I have never understood these engine sound complaints. All the cars sound different to me. btw, my entertainment center makes a strange vibrating noise somewhere in it. It only occurs when I drive a car in GT5.

I don't hear anything wrong with the S-Type. My stock one has a good throaty growl. I'm not sure what you mean!

Same here man, GT5 has some really weird harmonics in it. Weird stuff starts vibrating.

i-MiEV. If I wanted to listen to a kettle, I'd go downstairs and make a cup of tea whilst I'm at it. :grumpy:

The stock 2011 STi sounds... not like the 2011 STi...

Especially noticeable when my ringtone is... the 2011 STi in real life...

It just sound like a dull droning sound to me, but I guess people have their own opinions. I think it sounds much better with the sport exhaust.

Actually, I'll take back my word that the Jag S-Type has the worst engine/motor sound because I completely forgot about the i-MiEV.
