Whats Your Mileage??

Well, it's been awhile since I've told what my latest car was, Last year I had a little 1990 Civic DX, a connecting rod blew on it at 180,000 miles. Now I have a nice gem I found, a 1992 Mazda B2600i 4x4, which only had 83,000 miles on it when I bought it. It has 92,000 miles or so now.

My aunt went to get my MR2 an oil change. Even though it had one about 2000 miles ago. I heard that some oils last for 15000 miles. I'm about to give my MR2 a wash later on this week, and pictures comming up later this week. IF I can get someones camera or cell phone. Everyone seems to have nice cars here on GTPlanet. 👍
You should change your own oil dude. It's one bolt and it gets you started in the process of learning how cars work.

Full synthetic oils can last for 15,000 miles, but I still change it around the same miles as regular.

178,00 miles and still runs great (though I am trying to sell it), my gfs car has only 145k on it and its almost 10 years older than mine

1986 Toyota MR2 S/C, like in GT4. :D I would get pictures as soon as I get a camera. It is in red, slight bumper modifications, 5-spoke rims, and some other stuff I did not put into the engine and muffler changes. I love it's noisy and quick little engine. I might get a camera this weekend so pictures might be comming. 👍 Too bad for it's low rigidity, which I might try to fix as I save up for fixing that.

Hmm, I'd think you'd mean 87, since GT4 is wrong on the year that hte supercharged MR2 was introduced. Actually, the NA 86 MR2 they in there features the 87-89 side vent, versus the 85-86 side vent...

On to my cars...

1998 Corolla - 88,271 miles
1987 MR2 - 203,944 (Speedometer cable broke June, 05, so put another 7k or so miles on there) Its on its third engine... and I need to do some tac welding on the chassis in hopes of stiffening it up.

Recently sold my other 87 MR2 - 148,000 miles

On the matter of changing oil... I'd say wait 5000 miles with a synthetic, unless you race or such. Lets the oils properly break down and lubricate, as new oil actually needs to break down some before it fully works.

Well the person selling it said it was 1986, and so did PD. But I see that they are wrong... :indiff: Well now I know I have a 20 year old car. :D Thanks for catching that. +Rep!

And yeah, I should start changing my oil... :indiff: Lazyness + Car = :yuck:

It's like $20 and 10 minutes of your life to go to one of those oil change places, well worth it in my opinion especially if you drive a lower vehicle. I do it every 4000 and I run normal oil, never had an issue but I do a lot of highway driving.

Yeah, but its quite a bit more if you use a synthetic. Its about $15 and 20 minutes to do it yourself with synthetic, vs $40 or so at a shop.

And thanks TunerVision, I am kind of an MR2 fanatic.

Then why did you sell it? I would've saved up for it, since they are kind of hard to find now. The Toyota MR2 is such a fun car to drive, and for some reason, likes being pushed. I was looking at another MR2, (MR2's always seem to be in red...) it looked somewhat like the 1997 model, but older, different spoiler, and more rectangular tail lights, same shape as 1997, but different year. It has dual exhaust too, and I might buy it off that guy I saw in manhattan. Toyota should make more MR2's they are cool and fun. I'm a MR2 fanatic too, but currently learning about them. 👍

EDIT: Here it is, except the one I might save up for is stock.

Is that your car or one you hope to have?

Either way, you need to get rid of the lambo doors or the cars gods will kill you.

The car I'm looking for, except the car is stock, that picture is from the internet. The car looks just like that, except no lambo doors or other ricey crap. :) That means I can start working on this car after I acquire it. :D Life is great. It's fun working on a car that started out stock, even though my MR2 I own already wasn't completely stock. Anyone else loves MR2's?

My girlfriends dad has one, it's a blueish green colour, I would assume it's stock aside from different rims and tires. He's let me drive it a couple of times and I like it alright. It's a second generation like that red one and has a taraga (maybe t) tops. Doesn't seem all that fast but it has a ton of miles on it since he drives about 100miles a day to and from work.

I drive a 1991 Buick Regal. Love that car, its such a tank, it never quits! as for the mileage its said 83 000 Km for about 2 years now

The 2nd NA models are not fast at all. They have a Camry engine and are nothing compared to the turbos. That and I think they are a bit over weight. I would rather have an MR-S than a 2nd gen.

I sold that Mr2 to a friend that can fix it up proper. The one I have has quite a bit done on it, and I won't be selling it for some time. Just look at my sig...

Cool!

There isn't a turbo version of the second generation MR2's? :dopey: Says so on google, but google isn't always right... :grumpy:

Now at 133,022 miles. :D I wish I was there to hit the first 100,000 miles. :(

The Saab I'm driving now had 58,000 miles on it when It replaced my SC300 one year ago, now it has 79,000 miles.

Okay, I have a 1988 Chevrolet Nova Sedan with 227,400 miles on it. I've put on 12,000 of those in the last six months of running the car. But it's great; it looks a bit rough, but she's reliable. The 5 Speed manual still shifts well, if not with a pleasing *snick-snick* through the gates. It goes well over 100 without any problems (not that very often I try for those accomplishments) and it kicks gas getting 37 mpg. 👍

Purchased for $150 and fixed for only $6.37. (Needed three new carb gaskets and ran perfectly again.)

Some other things:

1986 Chevrolet Nova Sedan with 165,700 miles before the timing chain went. Now serves as my parts car.

1993 Buick Regal Sedan 151,000 miles. Grandpa's daily work car without problems.
1987 Oldmobile Delta 88 with 93,000. Perfect condition until a Jeep Liberty pulled out right in front of it (Not my doing). :banghead:
1990 Ford Ranger with 70,000.
1992 Ford Festiva with 174,000 miles. Uncle's daily work car without issues. Better gas mileage than me. :grumpy:

Cheers,
Jetboy

191,688 KM on mine. I started commuting to work about three months ago, I now do about 450 KM per week as opposed to my 50 or so before I moved.

(I kinda want to get rid of it before it crosses the magic 200,000 and drops a bunch of resale value).

Hmmm, biggest mileage and slowest first:
1982 Land Rover 88" Station Wagon, c.100,000
1992 Honda Prelude VTEC, c.55,000m
2002 Suzuki GSF600S Bandit, c. 26,000m
2002 Suzuki GSX-R 750, c. 12,000m

Haven't been on here in a while.
1982 VW Caddy 1.6 Diesel 158k miles.
Odometer broke, the plate that holds the gears snapped. I tried super glue and bolting it together but it's just to weak, off to the junkyard.

*Update*

I hit 239,500 today. Getting close to that magical 240k mark! I think I might take a picture of where I hit the 240k as well as the speedo. Its only a matter of months before this drivetrain gets swapped out. I am really tempted to see if I can squeeze 300k out of this car's original engine. I better not push my luck. lol

You know, someone should go through this thread and count up everyone's mileages and add them together so we can see how many miles GTPlanet.net has driven (not including in-game mileage, mind you).
