What's your target?

Last year I made the national finals for Switzerland. Now I'm living back in England I don't think I'm good enough to reach the finals but I'll be aiming for top 50.

Do we know if Sony are offereing prizes similar to the US GTA?

I just got the highest position I will ever have :-D 4th. I know it's just started and I'll get knocked down but still... :D

Hm, second round would be great - just signed up, now let's get this show on the road. Never actually drove around in the GT-R in a race. :P

ahh.. hoping for top lot when i get my wheel back. i was pretty solid when i had it. i have a month off work due to an injury but wont stop my abilities so its gun ho from here once my wheel is fixed!

currently set a 1.26 on my first run which is not bad lol WITH A DS3 haha

Depends how hard i try, i honestly doubt i can get in winning range, whether it lack of patience, skill or clever thinking, or lack of all of those things, i just don't think i can make it.

In Ferrari Virtual Academy, i was placing in the top 100, and had a few near misses that would have gotten me into the top 10, but then the times reset (it was only a practice round), come the real round people were going faster and i couldnt understand how, until i watched a vid of them corner cutting like crazy and basicly cheating, i lost interest then and quickly fell out of the top ranks as other people jumped on the corner cutting bandwagon.

Depends how things go with GT5, problem with these events is that the top guys are usually the ones who work out something freak with the car, brake settings or a sneaky corner cut, aswell as them generally being really fast drivers. Where as i would rather just go in with a stock car and drive the track properly, i think that's where i will lose out most of all.

there is an advantage.. you can watch others replays! the fastest will be watched closely and scrutinised if found cutting corners!

Erm you can;t modify the car..

First time for me this year so to be fair, I'm just hoping not to be last... Realistically, if I finish in the top 25% I'd be happy enough - I don't own a wheel and play for fun, so not expecting great things

My target is to be in the top 20 in UK/IRE.

I was 3rd in Ireland last GT Academy, which would have been about 40th in UK.
So its gonna take alot more time and practice if Im gonna have a chance of making it. :embarrassed:

Yes you can, you can change.

Brake Bias
Traction control
Active stability control
ABS

An example is i saw one really high time using ABS 10, quite a strange one. The competition is tough anyway, i'm 24th as of posting, but thats still 4 seconds behind Vibrolux who is in first, which is no surprise. All the usual names up top, as expected.

On the 1st academy I got 1st on the first day but then I slowly fell down the board. Think I finished in the top 50. I dint have a driving licence back then as I was 17. Now I have a licence I am ready to try my hardest to win. Just going to silverstone would be great. This will be the only game I play for about 4 weeks :)

Maintaining 5th/6th position best splits would put me on 18.4 currently on 19.3 so just have to see where i go from there :)

(Once ethernet cable arrives ill redo livestream been buggy recently)

The list always evolves, its amazing how much time people can get out. I was 24th earlier, i've set numerous faster times but still only 23rd, no doubt even as of this posting someone is close to or has already knocked me down.

Il be happy if i can clock lower than 2:19, personally i don't intend to try to win, i know i'm not good enough. meh.

Yeah I know. After a few weeks about 2 secs is taken off the fastest time which you thought was a perfect lap. I only played the 1st one for a few days just to see how good I was against the best. Then gave up as I wasn't eligible for the prize. This time I will be on it every night

I can't change brake bias. You guys can?

you can not touch car settings(brake bias)

Appears you are right.

Crazy how fast times improve, i went away for a few hours and come back to find my position has dropped massively.

I think to truly have a chance of competing in this event, one must spend a an almost unrealistic ammount of time practicing.

Fastest lap so far with DS3 for me is 2:21.327

although that is withoutthe perfect lap so i think i can go seriously quick :D

damn comfort tyres to hell !
Out of curiosity what setting do you guys prefer for steering ? i've been using 2.
Oh and i'm aiming for top 100 :)

It really depends whether we can cut any corners like the Americans :-b

Realistically I'm aiming to beat everyone in my friends list and take it from there.

Currently winning by less than 0.5s, but way of the leaders pace (but only did it for 20 mins).

Hi Guys

My target for this years GT Academy is to improve my driving skills and hopefully rank inside the top 20 for UK/Ireland :) As I'm only 16, i can't go further but i enjoy gaining the experience

Luke
