Which car to use in ''Like the Wind'' lvl 21 A-SPEC Mode?

I did like the wind in a Peugeot 908 (the easy way) but I guess other people didn't have so much restraint with splashing the cash :D

I dont have that car yet. Did Pd fix the gear shift problem? If they didn't, i may not even pick it up...

I followed you're advice on the daytona speedway,(like the wind) with the supped veyron. Followed you're advide to a tee and worked like a charm, Thanks buddy! Its a tough race guys just really SLOW down on the corners and hold you're position! Just playing a bit of b-spec with my useless nob driver:) building up to get to level 8 to enter that madza race! THANK YOU so much man. Like a lot of others I assume, I am stuck at level 21 and the game was starting to feel a bit stagnent and frustrating But with a minolta in my hands that wont be for much longer heh heh!

Great threrad:tup:

I managed to beat the Gran Turismo All Stars (expert) with a level 20 Nissan (looks like the Motul, don't remember the name now) but in the Like the Wind races, it's just not fast enough because of the straights. Any tips?

Mazda 787B will lap one of the AI cars in five laps of Indianapolis. This is my grinding event...

The 787B cost 5 millions, is it really necessary to spend that much? Will take me a whole day then to get that money.

Corvette ZR-1 - RM + Tuned.
Tuning -> Body -> Aero: Maximize Downforce and and you should easily be able to do 310 - 330 km/h out of the corners on Indy.
Tuning -> Transmission: Increase the Max Speed to at least 400 km/h.

And this have been answered multiple times before.

Any guide on beating it in b-spec? The b-spec drivers do not get along with the Veyron...

I sent my level 1 guy out in the Veyron and he did quite well on Tsukuba was running 1:03's I think was his fastest in a Veyron with extra HP no suspension or tyres yet

Use the Search function.

The gentleman is correct. The end.

Furai for 1st one, just kill them in the infield, get a head and try pull away to make up deficit on the oval, need to drive well with all aids off, alot of fun.

Zonda R for 2nd race, mod it, get the ratios right and add some wing, easy.

Thanks for the guide.. didn't try the Veyron at Daytona...

@Indy I tried the ZR1 modded/tuned and couldn't do better then 2nd, also tried the Furai like you mentioned.. and I kept getting raped on the straights, couldn't block 3 of 'em at once.... Soo I resorted to the Stealth McClaren F1 I got.. which I never knew could corner so well.. :D

Finally i Won the MINOLTA With my new DFGT Steering Wheel.
Did both with the Mazda Furai fully tuned.
Settings are: lowered height from the ground, downforce 20 front 50 rear, transmission to 440km/h and Soft Slick Tires.
In Daytona I Won easily, pass the first guys in 5 corners, then it's easy. Win bya 4.421 seconds.
In Indianapolis you maybe will pass everyone in 1-2 laps, then you have to block.

Sorry for bad english :D
Just used this to beat the Indy race.

Only I set downforce to full. Your main advantage is through the first two corners. I think I was in fifth gear for most of the race.

I won by 0.007 seconds, third was 0.012 behind. :scared:

I found a racing Supra in the used car lot for 700k, slapped on a turbo and some racing softs, and had a really close race with the AI. Won by .035 seconds.

The Vette will have an advantage due it Racing Modification, as it can increase front downforce significantly, which is of great help... but if you have the ability, I don't see why an Italia couldn't win.

I broke down and got the vette with RM and some added HP. (wasnt cheap thats for sure) Wow that thing moves. Won both races in like the wind with it. The second race It took me twice. The 1st time they spun me at the last second and I took 2nd place crossing the finish line backwards. Did it a again and they were never even close. The 1st race took me a few try's to get used to the power and handling of the vette but once I was out in front it wasn't close and I think I even spun out in the grass once. Got the minolta and went and did that other series (I forgot what it was called something of the stars I think) and they didn't even have a chance against that thing. I spun out a few times and it still wasnt close. That car is crazy fast. I'm actually dizzy now from that minolta flying back and forth.

By far this was the hardest race for me to win, used the steering wheel with the concept car to win at Indy. As for Daytona 2 Hrs 38 Min's before I was able to pull it off. Used the wheel didn't work I ended up having to race with the roof of the car view and using the DSC to win it in the end. There is no room for error. After my ordeal and restarting so many times I can give you some advice. If you are not in at least second by the time you get back on the speedway, just go ahead and hit restart. Also do not under any circumstances look up to see how many laps are left in the race. I wiped out on the last exit to the speedway, on the last lap three times.

The Furai definitely destroys the indy race, I use that to make money right now. The trick is to never take your foot on the gas, and to always cut to the inside, if you upped the downforce like I mentioned that car does NOT break traction. The only time you have to keep in front of the AI drivers and block them is on the last stretch of the 5th lap, otherwise just let them pass you and draft them. It'll give you some sick lap times!

Glad to hear some people have been able to make good use of my advice! :D

P.S. Once you reach level 22, the 3 races that get unlocked are INSANELY easy compared to this race and all stars. I felt like I was in amateur league again!

I totally forgot to change the downforce on the Mazda and was having a load of trouble with it. Re read this thread, fixed the downforce and it's so much easier.

👍

awesome write up. This is exactly where I am sitting. Trying to figure out what to use to beat All-Stars. I can hang on around 4th and 5th with my F430 Scuderia. Off to B-Spec mode tonight. I think I am lvl 2 right now. Should be a fun night.

cwm33, thanks for this information. However would it be possible to win this in b-spec mode with the following cars that you mentioned in your write up?

I found the ZR1 RM a lot easier to win with in both. Got 15 seconds ahead in Daytona. And I had to brake for the corners in the second race but was still quicker than the other cars on the straights and corners.

But I had the downforce all the way up to the top. Furai is a nice car though :)

I have made a thread specifically for B-Spec mode on which car to use in order to beat these events. There are numerous threads floating everywhere and information is all over the place. So hopefully this will help a majority of users who are interested in beating these 3 events in B-spec mode specifically. I'll start off with whatever information I know. Feel free to add or correct me.

These are the cars that will beat the following event

GT All Stars - Minolta (you win this by beating Like the Wind Event with Gold)
GT World Championship - Mazda Furai Concept/Mazda 787B/Peuogot 909
Like The Wind - ???

Like the wind can be done with Mazda Furai, Toyoto Minolta and Zonda R as far is I know, you should have at least 2 of these cars when youre at that B-spec level.
Anyhow, this has all been mentioned before in other threads so I don't really see the point of a new one.
Maybe it's an idea that some mod makes a special section for B-spec?
