I'm surprised that so little people use the roof view. I always use that view for serious racing, it makes driving faster so much easier.
But interior view is the best overall. :)

I use bumper cam for most of my cars, except the Ferrari F1 cars (Roof cam) and the decent premium cars. (Ones where you can actually SEE the mirrors) Corvette is set up perfect for the mirrors.

DRIFT = hood or bumper cam
All A-Spec + Licenses + seasonals + Special = Cockpit cam
Online race = bumper cam
Vettel challenge = hood cam
Eager Nordwand Special on Alfa = bump cam
All practices on track = Cockpit cam
Only drive Premium cars

Cockpit view is for wannabe race drivers get it right lol.

Bumper is for people who care about fine control, and not pretending their heads fixed to a post in the drivers seat.

last month, I was all about the bumper cam, cause you can see the most that way. However, since xmas (aka getting a wheel) I find myself using interior view as much as bumper cam. Except that Citroen GT, as awesome as that car is, you just can't see very much from the drivers seat...

+1. I think you can see the topography of the track and better plan for and judge turns this way.

I don't understand this. Topography is the same every time you approach the same corner. It doesn't change.

He means the perspective, not the topography outright changing.

Like TPS to FPS shooters, different perspective for the same image.

I didn't say it changed, I'm saying you can see it and prepare for it better. Down low on the ground I always turn in too early and/or too much.

Oh I didn't know you couldn't do it.
Just thought it an odd thing to say.

I see what you mean.

Hi guys.
Since I saw my favorite F1 driver - Robert Kubica - is using bumper cam, I gave this view a chance and after a couple of days I improve all my lap times.

I usually use the far view, and always had, but now I'm going into the interior view. Kinda hard sometimes but I'm still teaching myself. :)

Cockpit all the time, I would be curious to know the split between the drivers using the wheel ( I do ) to the same question.
I have to admit being surprised by so many are racing/driving with the bumper cam view!!
For drifting I use the view from behind the car with the controler, but that would be not even 1% of my time with GT5

Always cockpit. Although I think if you can get a feel for car control in chase cam, it's a great advantage in online racing. From GT1 to GT4, I always used chase cam, until cockpit view was born. I just like seeing the interior attention to detail.

"Bobalob", may I remind you it's a game, and you're a just as much a "wannabe racer" as the rest of us, despite using bumper cam. Also, fyi, the proper racing sims all use cockpit as their standard view.
