Whisker's Ride

How are the two of you managing to post using the exact same device despite being on different continents?

Word to the wise, we know that posts claiming to be made from Europe were made from the US. You get one chance to come clean with us on this whole thing, fail to do so and your membership here is at risk.

We do not find being lied to is conducive to membership.

Oh and allowing another to use you account is also a rather big issue, your 'brother' wants to post, then get him to set up an account.

It's Whiskers and the car is in America. I am telling the truth, Scaff.

Just for the record, I still don't think that it is your car, but this form of proof can only go so far.

[rant] It is! My father got me it as a gift! Have you seen the Top Gear Albania episode? It's a tradition for an Albanian to have a Merc or at least a German car. [/rant]

So if he proves himself do all those harassing him get infractions for doing so?

Just curious how that works.

Hope you can put this to rest. However it is getting interesting with the mods previous post.

Edit
Also who's to say his brother is posting on his account. Maybe those pics are text sent and he is posting them. ;)

I said he is. And I don't want anyone to get in trouble, I just want to prove them wrong. OK so this is what he told me: "I took a pic of the car, got the charger cable put it in the laptop, got into your account with the info you told me, and uploaded it the way you told me to." Exactly his words in a MSN phone call.

You have a funny idea of harassment.

The way that it works is that the moderator team step in if things go too far. If MisterWhiskers has a problem, he can report it and have a member of staff look it over for him and take appropriate action.

Calling someone out on what certainly appears to be a lie isn't harassment, provide the line isn't crossed.

Unless they are sitting right next to each other, at which point what's the point, he has made all posts himself.

Do you people want even more proof?! Do you want me to send you all a sample of my blood?! If that's the case, screw off. You people are still fighting after what you asked for. If you people can read, I shared my account with brother. I can't use this site for now. People post pictures that they show absolutely NO proof at all for. Is it just because I'm from a country that has a poor economy?

There is no need to get defensive over such a simple request (the piece of paper inside the car, as I asked). I really couldn't care less where you're from, so let's not start throwing around false accusations.

Then please explain how you are posting from Europe, yet the IP address shows the same machine is being used by your brother to post and traces back to the US?

Can being on a VPN have anything to do with the IP?

Also what about when you post from a phone while connected to something like a 4G network or whatever?

No harassment has occurred and as such its not an AUP issue, so why would we punish members for not breaking the AUP?

Its quite simple, members are expected to back up claims they make, particularly with regard to ownership of cars, we have had a wide range of 'fantasy' drivers over the years and quite frankly the value of the car matters little, the disregard for the AUP does.

Its not difficult to get a picture from inside a car you own, yet the number of people oddly unable to do so is quite strange.

The picture helps, but it certainly doesn't put it to rest, as anyone can walk up to any car (and that picture is not even that close to the car) and do the above.

What would be better would be a picture from inside the car.

Taken within the last 10 minutes, outside and inside my car.

Now if he is in Europe then he does get some slack (for a while), however his IP history shows only two devices used to post at GT Planet (mine as I log-in from work sites and access points around the world has hundreds) both from IP's located in one town in the US. Now the car may well be his (I've not said it wasn't simple asked him to prove it - as per site standards), but enough doesn't add up to raise questions.

He did, and as both his posts and his 'brothers' come from the exact same IP in the US it raises a significant number of questions.

Ohh this is gonna be good

OMG shut the f:censored: up already . I'll have the paper inside the car, but I cannot do this since I'm in EU. I honestly have no fricken idea why the IP address goes back to my house in CT. I'll be back in CT in about a month for my B-day, so you don't have to worry of me "lying". The pic will be up my brothers time when he is done with homework in the afternoon if he has any.

Scaff I am loving the look of the car.

If your going to use the 🤬 smilie then do so correctly, don't include letters from the censored word, that defeats the idea of censoring it and breaks the AUP. Given that this is a subject the staff have already had to raise with you I would have expected you to be a little more careful.

Now on the subject of the IP address, I have a number of ideas as to why its is happening and I have to be honest that very few of them involve it being able to be used on two continents at the same time.

What means are you currently using to connect to the internet from Europe?

Scaff I am loving the look of the car.

Many thanks - my little Alfa is indeed rather good fun

When I posted my ride, not that it is anything special, I posted it with the name thing in several locations and spiked over the shifter. As well the OwensRacing decal on back window. Why, to avoid any hassles. LoL it took all of five minutes of my day to avoid any BS.

Some of us just don't like our honesty to be questioned and will go out of the way to avoid it being questioned. ;)

Honesty and integrity are valuable virtues to ones character.

I just use my old Dell that I bought over from CT.

May I ask exactly how you are using a US ISP to connect to the internet in Europe?

You are connecting to 'someone's' wireless access point in Europe and it sure as hell isn't going to be one provided by Cox,

That 'someone's' ISP will be the one assigning your IP address and quite frankly its a bit odd that it would be the exact same IP as the one you get from you access point at home (the chances are astronomically small).

You use Cox in Kosovo or Connecticut? I thought they only provided services in the U.S. but I could be wrong on that.

EDIT: too slow

Why don't you just hold a piece of paper up to the window of where ever you're currently staying with your username on it so we can see outside. Connecticut and Kosovo are going to look different.
