Who would like to see Touge like Battle Track's in GT6

I can consistently run times of at least 7:30 and under around Nurb by drifting. My fastest time around the track gripping so far is 7:13. This is also running 453 bhp and below.

What car does 7:13 at 453 HP? Something sounds a little fishy.

Depends on the tyres. A Nissan GTR with 480bhp can do like 7:20 ish on sports hard, right? Meanwhile a 323BHP Lexus GT300 can do about 7:10 on racing hard. Then a 300BHP road-going FF car can do in the 7:00 reigon on racing soft tyres. That's why I'm curious as to whar tyres he's using.

The 7:13 time - what car, what tyres, how much BHP? I'm curious is all.

On topic, I'd love to see some mountain passes to cruise along in Gran Turismo - it would make for some fantastic photography.

EDIT: The reason I'm curious is not to try and call you out - simply to see if I can do the same - I've been looking or stuff to do on GT5 lately.

Spirit R FD, 453 bhp, Sports Soft tires. Did nothing to the outside of the car as far as aero goes.

@Jared: I said I would, but my PS3 is having trouble reading discs currently. I need to get it fixed.

Try Sports Hard on your cars. Sports Soft are usually S-Tires/Semi Slicks in which many use for time attack on circuit. Some good example is Advan A048, Potenza 55S, Toyo T888, etc. No wonder why I was wonder how you were getting in the 7 min mark within 10-30 second mark. I assume you drift with Sports Soft while others you race (who Touge) were either on Sports Hard.

As soon as my PS3 is fixed I'll try that. But until then, I can't really back up my claims with any proof. Any physical proof anyway. I'd post the replay, but I'm having trouble converting the replay to a video file.

Actually no. Everyone I run with runs on Sports Soft. I've seen some people run on Sports Mediums. While touge is usually done on SH, more people are going for SM and SS because the provide slightly more grip.

Thanks for the info - though what does your FD weigh?

I tend to use racing soft for time trial - I use racing hard for everything else, and I use sports hard for more sideways fun. Sports soft is an odd in between for me. I use my Suzuki GSX on those tyres though.

Since most touge racing I've seen involves less grippy tyres I'd go for sports hard.

EDIT: Assuming your FD was fully lightened, I took mine for a quick run. 453BHP, 1,051kg, SS Tyres. I achieved 7:00.979 on the first lap. 6:58.574 on the second. It was mostly a grippy lap. The only time I did what you'd remotely consider 'drifting' was when the rear end lost traction under braking because of my setup.

...Once again you're wrong, if you set the room to a specific tire you avoid this issue. Do you even play GT?

Who are these LoTS guys and which game do they do touge battles on?

I have afew Touge tracks on rfactor 1, I wish PD could make tracks like these

It's a Touge Racing League going on in GTPlanet (Check out Clubs and Leagues). Been in it for about year or two, back when GT5 was new but decided to quit, and retired from series as I didn't feel the same. Nowadays I'm just wondering what I'm doing in life. I just tune offline (hybrids, make non-hybrid tunes for my tuning "garage" because physics haven't change I heard), and I'm like a lone-wolf who doesn't like to be online. I do play rFactor and either Touge (I run a page on FB called TougeFactor) or Drift. Mainly I just tune rather being competitive basically.

I would love some good Mountain tracks to touge or do whatever the hell we want to on them. That plus a premium Eight-Six and I'm sold.

I think you missed where I said everyone I run with. But, I will not try to be a smartass so please forgive me if I come off that way. Yes, I do play GT. Matter of fact its nearly the only game I play on my PS3. I was taught by people to do touge on sports soft. I was also taught to run sports hard. Most of the people I tend to run with go with sports soft, and that's usually what I restrict my rooms to anyway. Then again, I rarely go into open lobbies anymore. I mostly practice in my lounge or one of the lounges my friends have. Also ib, my FD only had Stage 1 or 2 weight reduction

Ah that sounds cool that there is a league in this division but it's a pity there is no real touge tracks in GT5.

I've just started learning how to drift and I've been practicing on GT5, my friend says that GTR 2 is a better game to drift on, I have both GTR 2 and rFactor. My rFactor folder is heavily modded with tons of cars and tracks but hardly any mods for GTR 2.

I don't know why you quit, maybe there was tension or unfair people that you were competing with but I think in any driving experience you may encounter it's always important that your having fun, even at a high competitive level, if your not and can get frustrated for any particular reason it will affect your concentration and in turn will affect the way you drive. It can become a vicious loop where your lack of concentration will effect your driving and your mistakes will make you even more frustrated and the loop can continue.

I only ever play online, I hardly touch single player because I have more fun that way. Even when I just want to tune a car I jump into an online lobby and drive.

Ooo.... All this talk about Touge and the old faces from LotS makes my blood boil! haha... I tried getting on but my GT5 data corruptted and I just can't get it to update correctly. Well, I'm sure LotS will make it's debut to GT6.

For LotS, it was sort of that but I thought of this quote every time I ever lost.
& after my PS3 got screwed up (which got fixed); I didn't feel the same at all.

"My job is to win. Be on top of the podium. I do feel pressure, but when I lose a race, I just feel frustrated. The frustration is only aimed at myself and I can't really blame anyone for it. I don't feel frustrated against others on the team. The frustration I feel at myself is in a way, proof that I'm still in love with the sport. I shouldn't feel that way if my heart wasn't with racing." - Manabu Orido.

Hi Timber! ^_^

If you have a wheel plugged in when trying to update GT5 then unplug it first then try again.

I use drift in regular races but only as a last resort. If I go into a turn too fast I don't panic and just drift through but not the showy drift like in drift comp but just to stay on track and regain control over my car.

Me too! ^_^ But I try not to fool around too much (like Drifting so much that the guy behind me will catch up).

You'd think PD, being a Japanese developer, would implement more of their cultural motorsports into the GT series.

Official togue tracks, or a real togue option in the course generator would please me to no end.

I've always been disappointed with the lack of Japanese car culture in GT. I want some awesome touge tracks. Akina downhill... I know it like the back of my hand.

yeah i want the touge tracks, been wanting to drive my 700 hp R32 GTR on the touge. Until now, the only fun track that could serve as a touge is the Nurburgring, we need moarrr...

that makes two of us, playing the initial d arcade stage and changing the map with the cup of water really helps memorizing the track lol

I hear ya, that's why I praying the GPS course creator ends up being decent and we can share tracks. Then maybe, just maybe we might actually get some of the real Initial D roads.
