why are people using 4wd

i feel really bad after reading this thread, one day i was drifting with a stranger in the drift lobby, i bumped him by accident when we were both drifting and he spun out, jeez i felt really bad after that incident :(

Dont feel about that, most people can tell a difference between a bump and a slam. Accidents happen but when it happens 4 or 5 times it gets old

Isnt that called touge or somethin?

Touge has its specific rules, and is a stage, not in a circle. People thinking that beiing fast while drifting is pathetic. there are 3 norms on which youre judged:
-Angle (throughout the whole corner)
-Entry speed (Not the average, so entry speed is most likely nearly the same AWD as RWD)
-Style/Control. (I would love to see a 4wd car hit the apex of a corner for once.)

Let me put it like this, If i see 4wd drifters, i let them pass on the straight to laugh at them while passing in the next corner where they ditched in the sand. Ive met a coupel of good 4WD drifters, but guess what? Theyre even better in RWD Cars.

You can't ban them, that would be impossible to monitor every day and again, cause the server 'leader' would like to drift sometimes as well, instead of kicking people all the time.

if u mean ban like hit them, well it actually happens in some events in D1.

What you guys don't realize is that there are a lot of 4WD cars that drift very well, drifting isn't just for rear wheel cars. There are many real-life professional drifters who only use 4WD cars, like the STI or the older skylines.

haha yeah, after that accidental bump, i switched from my r32 to my less-powered ft-86 concept and i made some space so i dont bump him again

serum is just being dumb, he never even seen a drift race on Touges
hes some moron
he probably might need to watch some more Initial D....

I think you can find a better way to argue your point than calling someone "dumb" and "some moron."

An anime with highly exaggerated maneuvers and convenient race outcomes is hardly a reliable source for...well, pretty much anything. It's entertainment.

Most professional driftcars that are AWD from the factory are converted to RWD, actually. And I'm not sure how far back you meant by "older skylines," but there wasn't an AWD Skyline until the R32, so anything older than that is RWD for sure.

I'm glad someone dropped a knowledge bomb.

He doesn't have to edit his posts, I just "shook my head" and kept scrolling. Initial D is fake, there is no such thing as drift racing (on an organization level: D1, FD<usa based>), and the only person who has ever drifted awd in an actual drift event is Rhys Millen. He did it once, in California, in an evo...and never again.

Ive been doing alot of drift races online.
And i notice how alot of people use 4wd cars.
From lamborgini's to bugatti veyrons :yuck:
Some people dont even drift at all.
And while im going sideways doing a perfect drift,
They just creep up from behind overtake me, smash into me and ruin it :nervous:
Whats the point of this????

I think we should have an option to restrict the cars to RWD only.

im only ok with skyline's who drift as 4wd cars and HATE middle engine car systems
