why are seasonal events 3 and 4 easier???

I wonder if it was because not many people were doing the 1st and 2nd ones because of difficulty? I am sure there are people out there that could beat them but they were very difficult. Once something stops being fun and frustrating, people stop playing. The game is the Ultimate Driving Simulator but it is important to keep people playing. I think the new sessional events are great. You can tune your ride exactly how you want it on the difficulty scale so everyone wins and has fun.

You have to think big picture. Realize that the bottom 50% of GT5 players still represent half of the income. And a lot of them are GT noobs. Probably a lot of little kids, also. If the parents just shelled out a bunch of money at Christmas for a PS3 and this driving game that their kid was hell-bent on getting, those parents are going to be really unhappy when junior is all unhappy because he keeps finishing in the basement. PD/Sony want to get junior hooked on GT - with an eye toward the future. If he quits now, they have - in all likelihood - lost him forever.

They have to give more people incentive to want to play more and to do the online thing more. If half of the players just throw up their hands and quit or just don't become 'GT people', that's not good for GT or PD or the PS3 or Sony.

If the top 5-10% of players are not all too happy about the fact that the Seasonal Bonus Races are not difficult enough,
1. they can make them more difficult if they want
2. there are still the time trials
3. how many of them are going to walk on the game just because of that ?
4. they can still race online.

There are still far more options for better players than there are for the bottom 50-60% of players. I don't suck, btw. I am not a top 1%er, but I am pretty good - most likely top 10%. But PD/Sony have a very wide range of people that they have to keep at least somewhat happy. Or at least they have to make sure that they are not too unhappy.

I think the same. I was able to do the new Super-GT challenge with a Calsonic GTR on the same Racing Hards used by the AI, and I felt great. But sometimes I can't do it so I need tunning, like te NASCAR at Nordschleife race where I had to use Racing softs. Both were equally fun and challenging, but now I have the choice of difficulty ehich is great.

I agree with you. Otherwise GT5 becomes like the last game in this image:

yeah thats all very true, but i must admit playing the 1st and 2nd seasonal events was a lot fun playing around with the best settings and actually having to drive very well, now for 3 and 4 all you got a do is maybe put some tires on and away you go,

but i can see the point making it to hard, people get bored much quicker and play something else.

hopefully the next seasonal event might have some reqirements so you have to think a little. who knows....

I'm going to actually answer the question, since thats what this guy intended to ask right?

There's this one where you can choose any RX-7 for a 10 lap race around Tsubuka Circuit. I used the latest type (from the Premium Car dealership) and all of the other classic cars (there was a classic Supra) are too fast for me. In fact, I ended the 10 lap race 10th -_-

totally agree 👍

You drive 5 laps around grand valley speedway with the Volvo.
You beat the other Volvos with 2 laps. No way in hell that is normal.

caninehostile. i agree mate, its taken the fun out of the events, you could do the events on a bike now, such a shame as 1 and 2 nearly cost me a controller!!!

Yeah hurst.. :)
Alternately they could have seasonal entry Easy and Hard.
And you should get stuck at the one you choosed :D

Eggzactly; now you have more choices 👍

While 3 and 4 have been easier than the first 2 seasonal races, I've enjoyed the opportunity to gain easy credit and exp. With the lure of all the Super GT cars now in the online UCD, the less coin I have to spend on a car to complete these events the better. Fortunately I only had to purchase the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and the Volvo c30 since I already had the other cars in my garage. Completed all the events in little over an hour and bought up every GT and LM car I could with the credits I earned. That being said, I do look forward to the next seasonal event being geared towards a more difficult design as the last two events have allowed the majority of players the chance to gain needed credits and experience to improve their garage and levels.

We really need a class system like forza, or even a PP system like GT4. The lower the class/pp the car used, the higher and more amazing the reward....Smash the D class competition in an X class car, well you will only get 10 quid....why did pd abandon any way to catagorise competative vehicles???

edit~ An extra thought. The more I look at design ideas like throwing out ways to rate/compare and guage cars competing againt each other, the more I wonder if a frontal labotomy is a compulsary part of the medical one is required to take before starting work with PD. Given that throughout the entire design process not one of them put their hand up and said "wait a minute....why dont we have a class system for vehicles" infact they went the opposite and said "screw that PP system we used that worked quite well....the performance level of your car is of absolutely no relevence to anything".....I really wonder if ANYBODY there is in any way sane.

I love how people will bitch about things being too easy yet they have the power to make them more challenging and don't(hypocrites!). Who says you have to use an upgraded car? If you want to "challenge" yourself then strip the mods and run crapola tires then when you win you can be like zomg I dids it yey! and then run down the street frolicking... Yes I know that would require people to step outside which probably isn't on their list of priorities.

I'll take my 1.5mil now please. I've got cars to buy and real people to pwn...

I've found the difficulty level in the newest batch to be just about right using fresh from the dealer cars, except for in the Volvo and Challenger race, the Focus and Viper seem to be a bit magical.

I'm perfectly content with silver in those 2 though, I'll run to my internet bomb shelter and say that you shouldn't be able to win these events unless you have the skills to do so. That's the point of a game. PD have sold their soul to the casuals, if little Johnny keeps coming last he can either practice or go yell profanities online in Black Ops, etc...

I hope the next events will get more difficult. 3 & 4 are just too easy:grumpy:

It took me 2.5hrs to complete the focus challenge, but damn it felt rewarding:crazy: Now it's just buying some racing tires and you win them without a struggle...

Why is that seasonal events 1 and 2 where so much harder that 3 and 4, its like is gone to 1 extream to another.

Because PD looked at what percentage of people actually managed to win them, and realised that for 90% of people they were unwinable.

Don't forget these are online events, I'd bet that they know exactly what percentage of people won, and how they'd tuned thier cars.

I found with very mild upgrades (chip+sports exhaust then stage 1 weight or fixed suspension) and 1 above stock tyre it was a challenge for me I usually passed the leader on the last lap, had to restart a couple of races even. Usually found myself taking the weight reduction over the suspension. The one with racecars I did all upgrades because I don't care for jgtc tbh.

No im sure you much prefer ****box taxis. Let me guess...you think commondores are a good car & v8 supercars bear some resemblance to your taxi ss crapbox...lol. Get a grip on reality, redneck.

The "old" events required you familiarize yourself with suspension tuning. While I'm a huge stock car fan, a bit of tuning knowledge doesn't hurt. Plus, the tuning in GT5 is rather tame, so a bit of trial an error should have yielded good results.

And of course if one put in only little effort, he couldn't expect to come 1st. I came 2nd after a couple of reruns in the GT-R event and was rather pleased with myself.

But maybe it's the same reason they don't sell "small" sized condoms?

Anyway, running the latest challenges in stock cars or just putting on some slightly better tyres than stock still makes for a good challenge for those who want one.
