I don't get it. You shower right before the portion of the day that you're about to get dirty again, so you minimize the amount of time that you're clean. Also you schedule bed time (the time where you literally press the dirt and oil right up against your skin for 8 hrs) to be the time when furthest from your shower and are most dirty.

So, why do you shower in the morning? I'll accept two answers:

1) I'm a chick and my hair looks better when I do it right out of the shower
2) I shower twice a day. Once at night (which makes sense) and once in the morning (for no apparent reason).

If you select choice number one I'd suggest washing your hair in the morning and the rest of yourself in the evening.

Discuss.

Shower wakes me up in the morning and makes me feel nice and clean for the coming day...

Thats the answer I think, well at least the one that makes enough sense to me. why shower before going to sleep, when as you have stated you press the oils on your skin against you?

In addition people often sweat/excrete oils a lot in their sleep so being fresh at the start of the day is preferred as its when you go out to see people for the first time at work or socially so its a human nature thing to be neat and clean upon first impressions when you meet people.

I'm choice number two, I shower when I get home in the evening, then again after working out in the morning before heading out. On the days I don't work out I still shower in the morning because I feel awful if I don't.

My girlfriend will sometimes shower up to four or five times in a single day and each shower will last over half an hour. Do all women do this? I think mine might be broken.

I take them the night before. People around here think you're a scumbag if you miss a day though.

1) Relatively speaking, people shower in the morning for activities occuring during the a.m. which require cleanliness and professionalism. i.e.--a job interview or they are in a position of leadership which demands they be presentable based on available resources. Given the proper resources, it's nearly impossible to present a professional appearance without showering in the morning(as compared to your peers if they shower, yada yada). Many people choose to shower in the morning to make a good first impression because they're in a sales/marketing career field(any job which involves close contact with people and a need to present a professional appearance).

2)Generally, people shower at night because they, once again intend to make a good impression. i.e.--they intend to be close to a significant other. This is largely based on many factors such as: age, gender, schedule, culture, climate, etc. I can't begin to speak for everyone but in my own personal life experience, I found on the hottest of nights my pores would breathe better with a shower before bed--thereby making it easier to fall asleep comfortably.

I always do it, and having a shower in the morning always feels good to wake you up. It also feels great before bed.

I shower in the morning because I exercise in the morning, if not then no but it sure is good for waking you up. If I weren't so lazy, would do it every day

I go against all trends listed so far. I tend to shower in the middle of the afternoon. Then again, I do work at night.

I shower in the morning because of two reasons.

1) my hair is very thin, so it looks greasy very quickly. If I sleep on it, it looks like I poured Crisco in it.

2) I want to avoid the judging gazes of my fellow people, so I keep clean.

Plus I don't actually care about how dirty I actually am, just how I feel, look, and smell.

I shower before I have to interact with people. That's usually before I go out from my mancave (house). And I always shower after doing something sweaty and labor intensive.

I'm sure I will be also showering at night if/when I gotta sleep with a missus.

It helps me fully wake up, because I hate mornings and I like feeling fresh before I go do something.

Plus utilities are included at my place so I like to just stand in the hot water for like 20 minutes at a time because I can :D

I shower in the evening. Mainly because I don't have enough time in the morning.

However, I don't for one second believe that my evening shower means I'm "dirty" in the morning :odd:

(I do shower 2-3 times per day during the three days per year in this country where it's very hot/humid).

Nope, none of this is even remotely convincing.

In the evening (when you're filthy from the day), you can shower yourself clean, get into your clean sheets (because you're always clean when you get in them), put your head on a clean pillow case (because you're always clean when you lay on it), and stay clean all night. When you wake up in the morning you're almost as clean as when you went to bed... and you've been clean all night.

Showering in the evening before bed will not leave you smelling bad when you wake up.

Good joke

Personally, I shower in the morning because it's less of a hassle.

People tend to get sweaty when sleeping, especially under cover of thick blanket and a "hot" night. Morning shower gives that certain freshness and wakes us up, of course cold water works best. Evening shower is the best in my opinion, it feels great after a day's work with all that grime and sweat. Sometimes I have a shower like 3 times a day when its hot, 1 in the morning, 1 in the evening and 1 more before I went to sleep.

I refute that claim. When I get a shower just before bed, I always wake up feeling dirty and uncomfortable.
Yes I change my bedclothes regularly!

When I get a shower first thing, I spend the rest of the day feeling clean and refreshed.

But showering at night leaves your hair in a muss! :sly:

I'm a morning shower guy. I shower before bed if I've been active enough to work up a sweat during the afternoon or evening and can't stand the though of griming up the bed. But showering in the morning leaves you the most presentable on arrival at work/school/playground/whatever.

You can shower at night and be clean in the morning in the sense that you haven't been yard-work sweaty, but there's still the night's worth of skin oils, hair gunk, etc., that it feels best to get rid of before appearing in public.

That said, adults seem to shower in the morning and bathe their kids at night. The switch from night to morning is a rite of passage that you apparently haven't enjoyed....

It doesn't work for sweaty italians like me. If I don't take a shower, I smell like garlic rolls left to soak in a bucket of water all night.

It's subjective. Given the appropriate conditions(hot climate for instance), showering in the evening but not in the morning will leave a body smelly, un-presentable. The body sheds skin. Sure, in perfect conditions(clean sheets < two weeks use) you could possibly stay presentable. But with less than perfect conditions(hot climate), what is the intent for your morning? It boils down to what that specific person [and in which region of the world he/she resides] plans for the next day.

Ok, so this method (showering at night) works for you. What is point of the discussion if you discount all other subjective answers but your own?

1.) I shower in the morning because it feels good (as said before) and whatnot.

2.) Sometimes, "things" happen during the night that makes me want to shower in the mornings.

3.) Sometimes, i'll come home from work (because I close up at 11PM or 12, depending on the day) and am too tired to shower at night, therefore a morning shower :indiff:

The weird thing is I only felt the freshness of a shower for about an hour or so, then it just feel like dirty again :yuck: my face gets oily, my hand get sweaty or sticky because of the car AC ... and the smell of my body gets more and more  every hour, I wished we could have a perfect shower that will leave our body fresh for 12 straight hours  maybe some kind of magic soap:sly:
