Why do people shower in the morning?

Oh my, the water pressure is too low and I wanted to take a bath now. This is annoying me quite a bit... I hope that at least by 9PM it's back on it's normal level. :indiff:

I don't shower in the morning, but I don't see what difference it makes. Showering once a day is clean enough. So is showering every other day. Whatever time doesn't matter to me.

That air conditioner would be an improvement over mine.

Long shower (no not that one) or bath in the evening when coming home from work, or after house-work, car-work if I work after coming home from work.

And one quick one in the morning (1-2mins top).

And just Fyi, everybody sweats during the night, loose skin, geases hair, whether italian or scandinavian. So saying in the morning you are as clean as when going to bed is not true(especially after bed gymnastics), but you're not dirty either.

I always shower in the morning. Only shower at night if I have to, if I do shower at night I still shower the next morning.

I sweat a bit while sleeping, especially in the summer. I wake up some days smelling like a goat herders sock. Even if I don't sweat, I still like to shower after 8 hours of rolling around in a pile of loose hairs and dead skin cells.

Ah yes a bath, when you love to soak in whatever you're trying to wash off.

They are still relaxing. :D

It's for relaxation purposes mainly. At least for me.

Got that right! Haha I'll be patient but if not I'll go to my best friends house. She lives like 3 minutes away on car. I'll take the bike though and then stay there if I'm bored by the end of the night of playing GT5. Maybe make a lobby while I wait for the water to come back.

I did used to take showers in the morning during most of the days I had college, or later in the evening alternatively, but now it's anywhere between 3 in the afternoon or 10PM.

Personally I prefer to take a shower earlier in the day, mainly because I'm a complete mess as soon as I get up. Especially my hair.

OK, final answer: My daily BM is always in the morning, and I take my shower after so I don't end up walking all squishy later in the day.:ill:

I wish I had a bathtub. I miss taking baths.

I wish I still fit in my bathtub. Nothing sucks more than being too tall for a bath. Probably wouldn't want to bathe in there anyway.

Yeah, unless you're Japanese or something. Ever see Mr. Baseball? "First you wash, then you bathe."

I don't, you're right, it makes complete sense to have a shower before bead, more than in the morning... wake up, have a shower, get dirty throughout the day & get into bed sweaty and dirty... ??? Doesn't make sense to have one in the morning to me.

This.

When I wake up in the morning I look like I've just poured olive oil on myself. My face and hair look extremely oily, despite showering the previous night and getting into a clean bed, with clean sheets and a pillow case. Just washing my hair and face in the sink just results in water getting everywhere and me having to clean it up. Taking a short shower would be more time efficient.

I feel gross when I wake up so I always take a shower, the only time I don't is if I'm going to do yard work or be under the hood of a car during the day. I feel like if you don't take a shower in the morning you don't look presentable, people often look greasy or just funky if they didn't shower before starting the day. An added benefit to showering in the morning is that it allows me to get a good shave in too.

Since I work in a hospital I also take a shower when I get home because that would be gross if I laid around at night while covered in a layer of bio-hazard goodness. God only knows what I pick up throughout the day.

I really like to be clean and I don't mind showering 2 or 3 times a day, more if it's really hot outside and I've gotten sweaty.

I shower at night because in the morning I don't usually have time unless I wake up really early. The only problem is that my long hair get messed up when I sleep and it is not pliable without water.

My skin is very dry usually so showering more than once a day washes off lots of the natural skin oils that I really need, much to my wife's hate. She always makes me shower before bed even if I only woke up in the afternoon and showered then.

Now that the summer is here it's difficult not to shower twice a day what with CQ being so humid (83% today).

In the winter I hate having to shower daily and would rather take one every other day.

1) Main reason, by a long shot: I have eczema, which for some reason always does its worst damage at night. I wake up shedding like a tree in fall – have to take a shower.

2) When I’m not too lazy to exercise, I do so in the morning.

3) I have medium-length hair, which means I always wake up with cowlick, and trying to get it out by running your head under the sink is inconvenient and doesn’t work too well.

People tend to poo in the morning. Also shave, and fix bed-hair. (I would suggest shaving, pooing, then showering and fixing hair in that order for optimal results.)

There is also the comedogenic argument at hand here, where sleeping on the side of your face for ~8 hrs can contribute to clogging pores and thereby produce acne, whether you've showered or not before going to bed (consider that most people already wash their face before sleeping and some may still suffer from it). There are many matters of convenience that can be taken into account with showering in the AM such, for example, as placing your contact lenses in for the day while you're "still" clean. A lot can be wrapped up in the single process of showering/self-maintenance that would otherwise require multiple, discontinuous, AM-PM devotions of energy; I find it economical.

And let's not forget that sleep is not the only thing that happens in bed—while many couples do like to shower after intimacy, sometimes you're so tired and relaxed that it'd just be disruptive to do so. I think it's more the whole nexus of minor rationalizations for doing it than any singular, determinant, logically-sustained purpose.

I get patches of eczema during the colder months and find the showering makes it more irritable.

I shave in the evenings, poo in the afternoon and my hair is next-to unmanageable. :)

The only reason I refrain from showering/bathing in the morning is because I feel uncomfortable in my clothes after a morning shower. Oddly, I feel fine wearing any clothing immediately after a night shower.

Then again, I wear sleepwear most of the week anyways.

I shower in the morning, because:

1) I'm feeling like a zombie whenever I don't do it. I just need it to really wake up.

2) Appearence is taken quite seriously where I work at, so I really don't want to look like I haven't been taking care of that.

3) While I don't have long hair, it tends to get so friggin' messy at night that I'd need to spend more time on making it even resemble a proper haircut than it would take me to just take a shower.

4) I generally feel smelly if I haven't showered in the morning. I'm a bit paranoid about body odor and such, so showering in the morning helps me feel more secure throughout the day, especially given that I work with a lot of people every day.

5) If I'm not going on a date or something similar, there's just nobody that could be bothered by me being sweaty and smelly throughout the night, so what would I be showering for in the evening? If I've got plans for the evening, though, I'll just take another shower...

Whats shower?

Foxes lick them selfs clean.

Look at it this way.

You shower at night only to sweat in the bed and wake up with dried sweat on you.
You shower in the morning cause you go to sleep kinda dirty in bed(so you bed is kinda dirty) and you shower to clean it off.

I often always shower/Bath before I go to sleep.

For me, nothing worse than sleeping with all the days dirt/sweat accumulated. I go to bed clean and wake up clean. Rather than go to bed dirty and wake up dirty! lol

PS

I do not sweat when I sleep as I often sleep with no cover

I shower in the evening, makes me feel good in bed. I don't shower every day during the winter, but it is a must in summer. Still, sometimes I just don't do it because the water we have here leaves every centimeter of my body itching, and I don't sweat a lot, either.

Sometimes my students stick pencils in my hair when I'm at me desk without me knowing and I end up going to lunch, still not knowing, and then wonder what all the looks are for!

I shower to wake myself up, and to feel clean before the day. I also shower at night, cause it's nice.
