A lowdown shot of a motorcycle race, combined with the perfect music, creates a surreal atmosphere for the watcher during a lull of music.
The rider is on the limit of grip and machine, while you watch in fascination about what they really are doing.
What are they doing? They don't do it for the fame, or the money, they simply do it for the reason that they made it to that level.
The plain fact that they love motorcycling and racing. The feeling of being in total control of a machine, testing your skills and instincts against a few dozen other riders, whom all share the desire to win.
During that small moment of viewing, you are seeing their lives, the reason that they push themselves so far, their love for riding.
I always find this very scary to think about, because that is my life, condensed into one small shot of a race. Anything done before, during, and after a race is all done for the pursuit of racing. Once you zip up the leathers, nothing else in the world matters.
