Why go back to GT3?

I still have to finish gt3, since i never finished the time trial races. Still got several more F1 cars to win and to buy the rest of the cars. When i finish gt4, maybe i'll pick up gt3 again to finish those.

When you find yourself whipping through your menus and using the L2/R2 buttons to view things in your garage, you'll be like "Whoa! I totally miss how easy this is!" ;)

And I've just got the Final F1 series race and the time trial stuff to go myself...

Hey everyone, I'm new here, kinda. I've been posting in GT1 & 2 forums for just over a year now. Anyways, I just got GT3 so it's all new to me. I'm already an addict and my first car is the Chrysler PT Cruiser. I killed the Sunday Cup and had to get a few parts (sports suspension & muffler / af, computer, etc.) just to win the Clubman. All I can say is I LOVE GT3! It's definitely harder than GT2, and the lack of money makes me really try to win these early races.

So I guess I'm kinda off topic, since I'm not really going back to GT3 like the rest of y'all, but I find that going back to GT2 from 3 is still refreshing--mainly it's the sensation of speed that I miss from GT2 I guess.

The main reason why I bought my PS2 was for GT. Iv'e only got GT3 at the moment, but i'm planning on buying GT1 and 2 to go back and play.

I just raced on Route 11 last nite...had to get used to it, man. I haven't even driven around this track in over a year but after an hour I got my groove on again.

GT3A 100% Complete / 100% Win Ratio , have'nt been able to swing that way in 4 , ALSO , Right Thumb Controller Back for Accelerate Forward for Brake , Only Allowed the Freakin' reverse of that in :banghead: 4 , which is counterintuitive to me just as sadism is intuitive to the japanese

I will play any of the GT-games Just for some varity. The Graphics are secondary.
For damaged discs get the disc doctor at a vidio store. I have fixed many a scratched up
disc with that product. A cant read disc problem on the PS-2 can be fixed without to much
trouble also. Go to Play Station 2 site and some one will tell you how in detail.

not GT4 stupidly complex and non saving order system....

Well, I think I have it figured out. The first order is the cars you have driven. The second order is the cars you have acquired from most recent and then back. However, I don't particularly like GT4's orders since they can't be saved and it gets quite hard to find the exact car you need.

I was amazed when I started playing GT3 the other night. It had been a while. When I went from playing GT3 constantly to constantly playing GT4, it didn't seem to be such a huge difference. But when I went back, it was totally different.

I was totally dissapointed with GT4's garage sorting method - I liked GT3's where you just hit start, picked what you wanted, and THEN could flip through the other options with the L2/R2 buttons...

I've been forced to sort cars in GT4 by actually picking the country, manufacturer, etc. - then sorting on acquire date, color, whatever I need - but narrowing it down to the country/make does make finding what you're after a bit easier.

Reluctantly jumped on the GT4 bandwagon because of all the damn hype. If it wasn't for the great spot on sound of the Viper SRT-10, I'd be playing GT3 for sure.

Should i buy GT2 and complete it before i buy GT4????

Is GT2 worth it just for the selection of cars?

Does it have Grand Valley East????

 Journey, Dont stop believin'

 REO Speedwagon, Take it on the run

The only thing I don't like about GT3 was the random prize car chooser....that thing was frustrating as hell for me.

Yes, GV East is in GT1 and GT2. In GT2, you can race it forwards but to do it reverse you'll have to go on the Arcade disc, or wait till it shows up in the Event Generator

Personally, I love the car selection of GT2...it's the best thing about this game. GT1 has a better, more professional feel to it that is missing in GT2, but has too many Japanese cars for my taste. I've been a GT2 addict for almost a year and a half now purely because of the 600 cars, and even after all this time I've probly only driven maybe half these cars. Honestly, it can be overwhelming at first.

GT2 has tons of flaws, but also a lot of positives. I'm liking GT3 a lot but there's so many cars that I miss from the 2nd game that I find myself still going back quite a bit.

I miss GT3 quite badly.

I am currently playing GT4, and yes it has quite a few improvements, a lot of nice tracks, a lot of nice cars, and several other good ideas.

But it is also a royally disorganized mess. It is harder to figure out what races to run, the "crash penalty" isn't quite done right, and the prizes you get for winning races seem out of sync with the difficulty of the race. Yet, it is still a good game.

It seems to me that GT3 had a much more natural feel. Every victory felt like an accomplishment. Every prize was useful and desirable. Maybe that is why I played it 3 times while I can't see myself playing GT4 more than once. The "feel" is just not the same.

These are just my opinions, and I know others feel differently... so,if you like GT4 better, there is no need to flame.

Right now I'm playing GT3 while GT4 collects dust on the shelf. The main reason I go back and play the GT3, GT2 and GT is because they are still good games. My only complaint about any of the games from GT2 to the presence is the lack of ant damage and the duplication of car models, i.e. R33/34 GTRs.

Two more reasons to play GT3 instead of GT4: Rallies and Endurance races. They were fun in GT3. They are a necessary but unpleasant chore in GT4. At least for me - I know there are some people that really enjoy the GT4 flavor of these races.

For a while back a few months ago GT3 was all I played. I am getting kind of close to 100%, so I really need to try to complete it.

Good luck finishing it. I still need to finish getting all golds on the licenses and doing the Time trials since I just left it sitting there.

I Havent played GT3 since GT4, I dont miss much except Rome I guess but I also miss tracks from GT2.

I wont be going back anytime soon.

Hey thanks. As for me, I still have to do 8 more time trials myself. Those might be tough, but if I have done it before, I can do it again.

i love gran turismo 3,i got records in my save from 2003 and the memorys i had with the game keep bringing me back, all hail Special Stage 11 :P
:P ? I loved Special Stage 11. Another great race was the Cote D'Azur endurance... I loved to run it with the F1 focusing on achieving the "fastest lap", and the other cars worked as great "random obstacles" to keep things interesting. :sly:

I'm loving Route 11, glad it's back, and personally I'm glad that awful chicane section is gone!

What brought me back to GT3(also GT2)? HYBRIDS! I didn't think the codes I ran into would work on the Gameshark V5.3 Broadband Enabled but they do, at least the 787B engine swap does. I needed the $10 trillion code activated to do it. I haven't tried to get into drifting in GT3, I've been busy doing that in GT4. It's difficult for me to manage playing all these games at once, but they are all great games.

well, my gt4 was scratched to oblivion, which happened to occur on the day hurricane katrina hit us, so i had to wait till the next afternoon for the stores to open again to return it. i played gt3 after about two months of 4 and didn't much like it at all anymore. it's just too...dreary? i don't know but it left a bad taste in my mouth. although i'm at 97.4% i'm probably never going back. gt4 is just too big of a step forward.

I got bored after playing GT4 so much my eyes could bleed, that I decided to start over in GT3... I miss GT3 :(

Lol.... Exactly.

I have this "try GT3" thumping in the back of my head but GT4...If I press that Bl;ue eject button I might start crying or feel sad...I can't play any other game right now...I'll just be thinking and saying...I wanna play GT4.

The AE86 Shigeno Version was the last car I drove in GT3....It was Fantastic and if you had seen the settings I put on it...Doesn't work on GT4...What have they Done to that Beautiful car.
