For question poll.. So I selected 120 slim.

You have title opposite of question which is confusing/ poorly worded.
If your system doesnt crash, just dont vote. Thank
I agree that maybe the poll its confuse, my english is a bit dificult.

If one of you guys make a poll more clear so we can see wich ps3 model is the more prone to crash problems or least to crash problems, I will apreciate. I try with this poll but people with no problems vote trying to give his console a positive vote but its a mistake, its contrary of the question.

Mine only crashed during the 1.03 update (I know a lot of people probably will click due to an update failure than an actual game error), (and one reply freeze due to personal bgm) But you can't really go about with it. I have a 3rd gen fat.

I've not had any crashes at all, aside from once during a replay. I'm using the first 120GB slim model released with a 320GB hard drive that I took out of my laptop. I don't even see the frame rate drops that were considered a huge complaint with the PS3 model that I'm using...

Also, it's the disc version of GT6.

Fat 80 GB are like pentium 200's back in the days... it's a workhorse. Mine didn't crash yet on purpose. let me explain. If i am to exit the game while it is loading initially, it will crash, but while in game, no crashes whatsoever, and neither during updates as well.

I have an 80gb fat ps3 and I've never had a crash. I can play for hours. Although, I also don't clean mine other than occasionally wiping the dust off the front and back vents.

There seems to be more to it than just the model. I'm using a brand new super slim that's only been used for GT6 and have had no problems.

I suspect that many of the problems are FAT or drive system related and would be interested to know the 'crash' rate for non-virgin systems.

I have an 80GB (I think…) Fatty… no issues.

On another, possibly mentioned, note: You might want to add 4 options for people who don't have crashes as you have a very biased (and thus useless) poll now.

Oh and possibly you need options for people who drive primarily online and people who drive primarily offline, making it 16 possible choices.

For similar purposes before I make a different thread, does anyone here noticed there are different ways to be disconnected from an online lobby?
I have seen 5 different ways, not by being kicked, but disconnected
Disconnected from the lobby
You have been disconnected from the online lobby
Disconnected from the media server
Disconnected from PSN

And then the last one just takes me out of the room and doesn't display anything, although this has only happened twice.. I have never experienced disconnected from the media server until i started playing F1 2012, but I mainly see that method of disconnecting me from the online lobbies...

My 160gb fatty (serial CECH-P01) runs it just fine. Try doing the warp speed fan trick. Switch it off in back, then hold the eject "pad" and switch it back on. That should blow out some dust.

That is the point I'm always happy to see being brought up. No Offense, but maybe this is what you get for tampering with what you're not s'pposed to

Help me with that, you do the poll correctly.
Thanks!

I couldn't vote, because I haven't used other PS3 models for GT6.

I have a CECH 160gb Slim and I can safely say it has never crashed on me. It did crash once, but one crash can't be really considered a problem. I would call it a random crash, and not due to game or console problems.

You're not supposed to replace the HDD? Is that why sony made it so easy to replace and even showed you how to do it, in the manual?

80GB fatty here, only crashed once since I got GT6 on release day, and quite happily lets me play GT6 for several hours a day with no problems!

Sure. Sorry, may have come across a bit rude. However, if you are just looking at crashes and don't record the number of consoles that don't crash, then it is hard to interpret the result.

I have little knowledge of the models that Playstation made of the PS3, but by reading a bit through this thread I'd say you could go with:

- no crashes on a launch Fat PS3
- no crashes on a Fat 80 GB
- no crashes on a slim 120 GB
- no crashes on a slim 320 GB
- no crashes on a superslim
- crashes on a launch Fat PS3
- crashes on a Fat 80 GB
- crashes on a slim 120 GB
- crashes on a slim 320 GB
- crashes on a superslim

This is already 10 options. However, it will give you an idea of the ratio of crashes vs. non crashes for each model. In the current poll you'd only see the number of crashing units, which means that the more people have a certain model, the more crashes you are likely to see… or not… basically you don't really know what you are seeing.

Now, there are some annoying one time crashes (I just remembered I had a crash once as well). A single crash (maybe because of an update bug) might not be that interesting for your poll. You could even argue that a few crashes are not relevant for your point. So you could change it to:

- less than 4 crashes on a launch Fat PS3
- less than 4 crashes on a Fat 80 GB
- less than 4 crashes on a slim 120 GB
- less than 4 crashes on a slim 320 GB
- less than 4 crashes on a superslim
- more than 4 crashes on a launch Fat PS3
- more than 4 crashes on a Fat 80 GB
- more than 4 crashes on a slim 120 GB
- more than 4 crashes on a slim 320 GB
- more than 4 crashes on a super slim

If you want to know if there are completely crash free systems you could add the 'no crashes' as well, but it will make the list a bit longer:

- no crashes on a launch Fat PS3
- no crashes on a Fat 80 GB
- no crashes on a slim 120 GB
- no crashes on a slim 320 GB
- no crashes on a superslim
- 1-4 crashes on a launch Fat PS3
- 1-4 crashes on a Fat 80 GB
- 1-4 crashes on a slim 120 GB
- 1-4 crashes on a slim 320 GB
- 1-4 crashes on a superslim
- more than 4 crashes on a launch Fat PS3
- more than 4 crashes on a Fat 80 GB
- more than 4 crashes on a slim 120 GB
- more than 4 crashes on a slim 320 GB
- more than 4 crashes on a super slim

I think for the sake of the poll it is better to forget about the online vs. offline though :) It would make the list twice as long and I don't know if anything interesting will come from it.

Might want to adjust that since SKUs are not the same in each region.

I'd go for:
No crashes: 1st generation fat (CECHA, B)
No crashes: 2nd generation fat (CECHC, E)
No crashes: 3rd generation fat/40Gb (CECHG, H, J)
No crashes: 3rd generation fat other (CECHK, L, M, P, Q)
No crashes: 4th generation slim (CECH20, 21, 25, 30)
No crashes: 5th generation superslim (CECH40)

And then "crashes" for each too.

In the current poll you'd only see the number of crashing units,
This is incorrect.
Look at the title of the thread, then look at the title for the poll, then look at the posts, then look at me, Bruce Lee.
People, including myself, have admitted to voting for the poll after reading the title of the thread itself. That alone makes the poll pretty much useless.
