Sounds like if I get my Wii at Christmas I will be cancelling my gym membership.
Nah, it's not that much of a workout. You break a sweat, but nothing beats the real thing.

All I need is a good lightsaber game and I will get a better workout than George Michael Bluth (from Arrested Development for those who haven't seen it). It's hard to get a full cardiovascular workout when you're only moving your arm(s). Maybe if you have a big-screen TV and lots of space, you can run around your living room for Wii Sports Tennis, following the movements of your Mii.
Tricked? You mean like jumping off the Power Pad for the long jump?Actually, I remember seeing a video of another Mii-based game where you're supposed to run in place, and the action of swinging the controller back and forth is what the system uses to determine that you're running. Also, WarioWare will have games where you need to put the controller on your head and do squats, and other "up and active" kinds of things.
Of course, those running and squatting games could be tricked by just moving the controller around in your hand, but only toolboxes do that.

According to my friend, the stores here apparently won't ship any more Wiis until Christmas. What happened to Nintendo's plan of shipping 4 million Wiis by the end of the year?
Other than the broken wriststraps thing, has anyone else found indications that the Wii isn't quite as strong as the 'Cube was?
While playing a Gamecube game on the Wii the other night, my dog walked into the controller cord and pulled the Wii off its 3-foot-high shelf. After hitting the floor, the Wii wouldn't load any game discs, either Wii or GC, and made weird noises. However, after smacking the console on the opposite side from where it hit the floor, it started working just fine.
I mean, yeah, the Wii's working again, but my GameCube wouldn't have even noticed if it was dropped from the same height. At most, an extension port plastic cover would pop out.
Anyone else have any problems, temporary or otherwise?

True, but I have never dropped a system. Teh simple fact that you just had to bang on yours to make it work tells me it is probably pretty solid, even if the GC would have taken that better. I challenge you to try that with any of the other two brands' systems. They didn't drop the system itself.
Wow, every other story I've heard about it, at a minimum, put a huge scratch in the disc.Once, I accidently dropped my friend's old bulky PS2 about 30cm high off the ground. It just kept on playing the game when it was dropped.
Wii is officially launched here December 7th, preordered my copy (with a free GT Pro series) and I'll be picking up Zelda...![]()
If I'm not mistaken, you'll be the first person here to own GT Pro. I'd appreciate it if you told us what you think of it -- I haven't seen it available for rental yet.
My Beagle had a penchant for chewing up Sega Genesis controllers, so I feel your pain. I even lost a joystick that way. I cried.I am interested to see if my PS2 and Xbox controllers can hit a wall as hard as the Wii mote in that video does and still work. I do know that controller cords are very susceptible to cat claws/teeth. I lost two controllers in two days that way.
