Will Forza Horizon 4's Next Expansion Feature LEGO?

I'm sure some people will enjoy this but judging by the comments on social media it likely hasn't been as well received as they had hoped....

But maybe that's just the bias of negative reactions appearing before positive ones

Goodness, I don’t think the Forza franchise could have gone further down the drain. What a waste of resources.

Doesn’t matter that I’m still driving the same S15 model I was in FM2, or the fact that my R32 sounds like an N/A Supra, cause hey!!! I can drive a LEGO McLaren Senna!

I wasn’t expecting much from this expansion, but wow, I’m in disbelief.

Not at all, Hot Wheels was awesome fun and I would love a Lego racing game on it's own, but having it in Horizon? It just doesn't feel right and I feel their time would have been better spent on something else.

Two things:

1: Is it really any different then what was present in the Hot Wheels expansion, with the loop-the-loops and boost pads?
2: What is this 'something else' PG should have spent time on for the second expansion? Because I have a very good feeling that if they came out with yet another thing like Fortune Island, where the general racing is still the same as the base game, people would have been raking them over the coals anyway.

Anyone complaining is allergic to fun, it seems
But is it fun though? We'll have to see what's it's like to play, but compared to the Hotwheels with loop to loops, giant jumps and such, from the little shown in the trailer it's looks like they just reskinned/replaced buildings, trees and spectators with Lego stuff?

Compared to the Hotwheels trailer with the loops, spins, spirals, jumps and turbos etc.

It's definitely silly, but that doesn't mean it will be fun.

That and the weirdness with the Lego characters... Like the Hotwheels at least sorta looked real. Like some mad billionaire with a Hotwheels fetish went to town. But... It's just strange. Love to see how they (the festival hosts) react to the island of living Lego people.

I yearn for the day a new Lego Racers comes out. So much potential.

If I wanted to drive in something blocky looking I'd take an Abarth 131 or a Nissan 240RS. Sadly, this lot are too busy playing with Lego to fill my quota for anything like a classic rally game.

I really get the sense that some just want sim racing everything instead of the ability to cut loose every once in a while.
Oh, of course it's fine to cut loose every once in a while. It's just I'd rather do it with something else.

As a standalone affair this would work a treat. Mixed in with the rest of FH4, though? That's just T10's commercial appetite kicking in, really.

Maybe we should wait and see what the expansion actually involves before saying “it’s not right” or “a step too far”

ultimately, that's what I think should be the take away. At least, y'know, wait for the contents of the expansion to come out in a press release before writing off as the death of Forza or whatever?

Or continue having hissyfits about how the game isn't sim enough or whatever.

This is just T10's commercial appetite kicking in, really.

And Hot Wheels wasn't the same thing? Or the Fast and Furious expansion in FH2?

Come on people.

I'm really surprised how strong the hate seems to be...seriously surprised. It's a fun idea, what did people really expect to follow hot wheels? The second expansion is never going to be a real world grounded setting, I would be interested to see here what people expected, vs what they actually wanted.

Yes, it was. And they didn't satisfy me either. Was wholly nonplussed about Hot Wheels and the F&F cars are just more cars for me to not drive in other FM games.

I mean, I don't care about this either way, I can always just not spend my money on it... It's not wrong, just not I want.

I think what people expected was:
Lego Technik i.e. the more complex Lego models
Building Lego cars in game etc

What people wanted:
Something actually grounded in car culture, i.e a touge or highway street racing focused expansion
