Will Forza Horizon 4's Next Expansion Feature LEGO?

Can't say I'm excited for this. Would've like a expansion like Fortune Island but way more expansive. FI was just too short of an experience, not even a new barn find, probably replaced with the treasure system. Maybe a month's worth of content for me and that was it. The treasure hunting aspect was a pretty cool aspect, though.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Hot Wheels expansion when it was released for FH3, but I ended up liking it a bit more than I thought I was going to. With LEGO, it just looks like the same cars are being re-introduced, just in LEGO form, which doesn't mesh well with the models of the real cars in my opinion like the Hot Wheels ones somehow managed to pulled off (my favorite being the Mustang). Hot Wheels brought some new cars that were and weren't related to the brand, so I'm hoping that'll be the case here as well, though we are getting new cars under the Festival Playlist (some which desperately need to be in Motorsport). The map might me interesting, and I hope the course creator is brought into this expansion to see what it has to offer.

Who knows, maybe I'll get more enjoyment out of this than I originally thought. I will say this, I am interested in what the Falcon Speedway will have to offer.

I wonder if they'll make it so we can swap the pieces on the F40 so we can get both the normal F40 and the Competizione, like the real set :)

I'm at a crossroads here. It certainly does look fun but I would've preferred something to do with English car culture.

Honestly, it feels like Horizon has lost it's way a little, tone wise. I loved how Horizon 1 made you feel like you were truly a part of something big happening in car culture. The Rally expansion carried over that same feel.

I have no doubts that this will be a highly enjoyable DLC but I do think my point still stands. You can't blame people for feeling a little alienated. Some of the reactions to this are very immature though, I must say.

This expansion does give me a good idea of an arcade racer. A Lego game focused with a combination of licensed cars and wacky cars, it could lead way to other vehicle possibilities. However for a future game though.

Is anyone here capable of defending this expansion without resorting to snarky and provocative sarcasm?
What actually needs to be defended? I don’t understand the question. There’s plenty of people that have pointed out the wacky ness could be fun, is that not a defense, or are you just going to focus on those specific people and pretend that’s all that is going on?

Is anyone capable of criticizing it without some variation of "this is a goofy bridge too far for my super-cereal racing game"?

I think it looks fun. There remain some details I want to know more about, such as whether there's any sort of building aspect, whether there's actual tracks on the new map, and how big the new area is, but that trailer was a blast.

Ultimately, as long as the racing still feels good, I'll have a good time with it.

Plus, the people that are being disappointed in the expansion are giving frankly piss weak explanations as to why they are, if they aren't just straight going to the point of absurdity and straight up saying that this is the death of Forza as a series or whatever. It's the same sort of hand wringing about Horizon losing 'realism' or whatever when the Hot Wheels expansion came out.

Oh gawd. Please now draw a massive line...hell build a wall between the Horizon and Motorsport series otherwise I'm going back to PD and GT!

Pretty sure the wall between them already exists, and it's called literally being two different game franchises.

The handful of people who are defending it against the steady flow of criticism can probably answer this. I'm not one of them.

Easy to miss while attitude is having a field day.

Are those unique Collision sound effects that I heard in that gameplay video? Actually sounded like plastic parts instead of real metal car parts.

I'm very excited for this, personally! Reminds me of good ole' Lego Racers on the PC.

I mean, it's all subjective. Not everyone is going to like the same thing/share the same tastes and that's OK. As I mentioned earlier though, the "DEATH OF THE FRANCHISE" nonsense is really stupid, I agree on that.

You know that wasn't my point.
The point was to have Forza's realistic content secluded from the new Lego content to have 2 good games, instead of one that breaks imersion every 2 minutes.

I get what you are saying - I, too, hope the LEGO content will be sufficiently separated from the main game and treated as a "stand alone" portion of the game. I still don't see why it should be a completely separated game, tho.

I realize that. But it would be nice if people, I dunno, actually waited until there was more information on the expansion, or waited the four days or whatever until the expansion to actually drop before pulling out the hyperbole.

Ok then let me rephrase, why exactly is it a problem about it being defended with snarky comments? You’re essentially attempting to single out one side, and for what reason? Are you just going to ignore those that are against it that are posting downright asinine comments, or is that just ok to you because it’s something you don’t prefer too?

Oh I agree, it is hard to notice when you have a bunch of agitated people posting ridiculous insults about a game because there super serious sim has LEGO in it.

Jk, it’s not hard to miss at all if you at least look.

Definitely agree. Personally I would've liked something else but I'll keep an open mind and see what more it has to offer.

Only because i'm afraid that Turn10 and/or Playground Games won't seperate the DLC, or won't be able to for some technical reason. They haven't yet done so in the past.
That, and it would be nice to see Lego step away from superhero oriented games for once and make their own racers again.

Especially when you consider that the asinine comments have basically been off and on for the past week, with a thinly veiled sprinkling of some good ol' fashioned GT vs. Forza pissing contests straight out of 2011 on top.

Frankly, I'm getting a little bit tired of it, and my own opinions on this potential expansion even before we knew about it, are known.

Because snarky sarcasm is like the epitome of passive aggressive behavior.

It's debatable whether some comments are justified or not. My tolerance for what disappointed consumers might say is quite high.

Hopefully there's some form of totally custom car/track builder, otherwise, what's the point of doing LEGO?

In all seriousness though, It's an interesting idea, which I'm sure will be an absolute blast, however, I'm curious as to see how they'll handle the availability of the LEGO cars on the mainland/Fortune Island.

The big question remains to be answered; will your car explode into pieces when you crash?
This is exactly what I'm worried about. If that's the case, count me out. No wonder why Toyota backed out.
