@chronos and JvM: you guys are going to have some competion soon. im gaining on you guys and fast. just hit a 1:18.698. another 7 thenths and im there and i know exactly whcih corner it is i need to be working on to get it.

though i gotta say im surprised by some of the times on there. when i first started i hit a horible time and was placed 1088th. after i got used to the track and car again now im at that time on N1's compared to everyones S2's and im ranked 306th. i know that after the spec III update all the times got wiped clean but i really though all the F1 fans would be running time trails on this course this weekend.

i see some awsome times i hope i can manage this. dispite the little time i have.

don't forget, the closing time is

15 hours after the race

and only post your time. that's makes it easier for me to make a ranking.

thnx and good luck everybody.

What a joke! Even with S2 tyres, the GT5p high score knocks 9 seconds off of an F1 pro's time. Even though the F1 driver could probably do better, there's no way he could gain 9 seconds. If the high score was achieved abusing the track, that might explain some of it, but still it's way too fast.

And that's on S2 tyres! You would think the F2007 would be fitted with R tyres :D

I still love the game very much despite all of that.

I think the S2 tires are meant to give more grip than really exists - apparently the N1 tires are more like the actual bridgestones.

That being said, there's some slight inconsistencies in the game compared to the laps the guys were running that have made it really difficult for me to work out how to get below 1'19.xxx

Lewis told MB that you brake after the 100m board to hit the corner perfectly.... not sure if anyone's tried that but I end up somewhere in the runoff if I brake much later than the 150m.

The quick left that follows is meant to be taken at 150mph+... has anyone managed that? I was getting 137ish at the most before ending up in the runoff... Looking at the 1'17.xxx guys for answers there...

Then the following right can apparently be taken pretty much flat out, which I also find difficult.

Have any of the 1'17.xxx guys saved their replays so I could take a look at your lines?

just a question but where are you getting 9 seconds from? after watching qualifying last night and the race today (dont worry no spoilers) its quite possible to hit 1.17's especially after the fastest laps of the race where low 1.18's. and seeing as the quickest time in GT5P is a high 1:14 (though these guys are just really lucky that they arent getting penaltys from how close there cutting it plus there on S2's not N1's) so your really looking at a low 1.15 as a quick time in GT5p. thats only a 2.5 second diference. now remember GT5P is perfect conditions, perfect tires and tire temp, perfect track temp, perfect weather, everything is controled and perfect. thats not so in real life. im sure if real racing had perfect everything like GT5P and the drivers where willing to push there cars as hard as GT5P with out fear for there own life then it would probably be possible for drivers to hit a low 1.15's time. but everything is never perfect in real racing and drivers will never push THAT hard in real life so these times wont be met. but the gap is not 9 seconds.

yea turn 2 according to F1 is a 6th gear turn but i go thru it in 4th about at the speed you are at. but the turn following it is not a full flat out turn. if you listen to the engine note on the cars during the turn you will see that they lift off a bit. but yea if any of you got saved replays or ghost i can see cuz im having trouble breaking the to the 1.17's

I brake around the 100 marker, I'm not sure if it's just before or after.

The quick left I've done at 146 mph a few times but I tend to drop to 139/140 mph most times. Someone more accustomed to the F1 could do it or maybe try N2/N3.

The fast right hander I go flat out then ease off on the second part. I watched Hamiltons quali lap this morning and he does the same and mentions that the car start to slide a bit on the second part which the game does in my experience.

yea turn 2 according to F1 is a 6th gear turn but i go thru it in 4th about at the speed you are at. but the turn following it is not a full flat out turn. if you listen to the engine note on the cars during the turn you will see that they lift off a bit. but yea if any of you got saved replays or ghost i can see cuz im having trouble breaking the to the 1.17's

Watching Hamiltons lap he said he shifts down 2 gears for that turn, so that would be 5th I think. I get to 6th and knock it down to 5th But thats gear ratios, the Mclaren 08 is clearly shorter than the F12007. On the exit for the straight he's up to top gear in the same length between turn 1 and 2.

Overall the F1 doesn't seem far off in some aspects if you choose N tyres. We should have different labeling of F1 tyres so people don't get excited. The way it rides the grass if you put full force is unreal and a bit silly, it just goes like it's on tarmac.

The GT cars seem more off, with the real life Nissan GT-R doing 2.22 at Suzuka and in the computer game it does 2.10 with the same tyres. Thats a huge gap and the game has got up to 3 seconds quicker that Spec I.

Lets no get carried saying it's close or way off, its a great console game that sells millions which is fun and sim with some life like characteristics.

Oh okay, sorry! I read 1.10 somewhere in this thread and 1.19 (rough numbers)

Wonder, is it too late to post a time? Still just about under 15 hours from the end* of the race!

Fuji F
NO Tcs.
No Active steering.
No Asm.
No ABS.
N1 Tires.

Time: 1:17.782

There's definately another half a second at least!

@Alan_G
In the end there isn't any loosers, and your lap time is a great time ;)

I'm totally exited about this setup on Fuji, and I love the challenge, specially when you guys goes about 1,16.xxx and I only hit 1,19.246.

I will continue improve my time with this setup. All day I have been driving with manual Gear and that is a much better situation more control ;)

Thanks for great Contest Guy's, It's been a lot of fun, and very educational for me.

The idea of driving with everything set to off and the lowest quality of Tires and only use the skills to get around is awesome and more interesting in the long run, because now it's on the edge of nerves and aggression, Damn I've got more Restarts then finished laps on my conscience in this Fuji GT5 Weekend Great experience

Just add your time if you fell like it, the contest has ended, but the spirit of the race is living on, I'm hungry hehe

@Roomboter
I know what you are talking about, time is not always on your side :) I wasn't able to go to the forum at 22:00 at the End of this contest. So it's not a excuse :P

it's not the end of the world :lol:that you guys post your times a little later. the only problem with making a ranking is that people didn't post there time as ask. and people post multiple times. accept from alan. so thnx alan. my time was horrible, i couldn't deliver what it takes. i'm not even gonna post my time here, cos i'm a shame of my time :banghead:

but thank to everybody how paticipate and a specialy to GTP_MoFF_Two aka Flagmo-T for opening this.

and i hope you guys enjoyed the race.

@Roomboter Great Dude, I hope your house is shining and stands prout with the new Paint, and that you have made your Girlfriend relaxed, so we can have some more hectic racing, apperently you don't get to train that much hehe.. It's cool m8 I'm only teasing because of me being in the same situation hehe..

@ chronos - JvM
One Thing I would like to know, is when driving with Manual gear I know it Does apperently gives more control :)
But I'm a little curious, How is your feedback setting, and do you use power steering.
(Option/Steering setting) It seems a little better with No! powersteering, and maybe a low feedback setting ?

Thanks in advance Guy's

Really? Ever heard of Formula1 race at Fuji before?

Come on man. Use some common sense.

Don't be so quick to attack. An online record of 1:10.XXX was mentioned at the beginning of this thread whereas on the GP version ('F') of the course, my online record stated 1:14.XXX so I thought I'd check.

For the F1 I turn the FFB down to 3, mainly because when you get half way up the pit straight the wheel shakes up my crappy table if its on a high setting, holding it firm still rocks the table left right. Power steering is always off. Maybe a solid table and high setting is good to get the best experience or times, but a low setting seems to give enough with PAS, Active Steering switched off. 👍

you are a Winner Chronos Thanks Man ;)

Btw. When you check the Online ranking, try check F1 on all tracks, and see the name tag on all 1'st places with S2 Tires, besides 1 single track, I think it's holo1 from Australia, But Wow He is someone to beat Chronos and JvM, and if you read this Holo1 then I'm on my knee's here, and a truly fan of yours ;o).
