Will GT6 originally have 8 new tracks?

According to the GT website, it only shows 8 new tracks, is this true? Or more are being made. As its been 3 years and a month left for the release is this all were getting?

Well Silverstone has four configurations and Willow Springs has at least two so that's 12 new options. Considering Forza 5 only has 14 total at launch I'd say that's not bad.

All these new tracks have weather and time change(they also added these effect to autumn ring, daytona, time change on spa ), and we're talking about stuff like silverstone, ascari, Bathurst. Plus we have also all the dlc gt5 tracks (spa, motegi..). Apricot hill is also one of the best fictional track in the series.
I don't have complaints at all if you ask me.

they haven't actually released any "new" original tracks apart from gt arena, yes they have revamped apricot hill or what ever, but I was expecting maybe a made up Sydney or Brisbane city courses, as they said there would be 2 Australian features.

Maybe because most people don't want fake tracks, they want real ones, which we have in abundance now.

Have to disagree. There's plenty of people that would love to see some of the GT original tracks come back. I'm happy to see Apricot Hill back, as it was one of my all time GT favorites. People here have said over and over how they'd like to see plenty of other originals back too. These guys did a great job of creating fictional tracks.

Maybe I should have said "new" fake tracks. Since the ones we have/had in previous games are really good.

This, not to mention we are also getting a huge Ronda area to create our own tracks. It's plenty of content. Time change alone for all of these tracks is a huge addition.

I think the comparison is not correct.
Gran Turismo 3 was nearly a launch game, in terms of content it was very poor. GT4 was released after 4 years.
Gran Turismo 5 came out 4 years after the PS3 release, the tracks choice is already extensive. GT6 was released after 3 years... and meanwhile GT5 received 4 DLC tracks (tracks not counted among the new 8).

Comparing to base GT5 we have 13 new tracks, 9 that wasn't in GT5 and 4 from GT5 DLC. 13 new tracks out of 39. So 1/3 basically is new content. Not bad, and some tracks have been improved I guess (Daytona, Autumn Ring, Tsukuba). We lost TGTT though.

Dont forget that Autumn Ring and many other tracks were updated.

I don't think we'll see as many now because of the course editor. It would be nice to still see some new ones, so hopefully we will get some!

The only new fake tracks we've had have just been Kart tracks (well marketed that way at least).

I might be in the minority here, but Top Gear Test Track was the track to lose (if one was going to be lost). The flow is decent, but the cross back and track limits were horrible. Not a good place to race online in public rooms imo. Great for hot lapping and comparing your records vs the real show, but aside from beating the stigs times, it was untouched by me.

Agreed, the only time I used it was for the special events and a FITT tuner shootout. Other than that, I hated it.
