In my opinion, GT5 didn't have enough tracks to keep career mode interesting. Out of the 20 locations available at launch, there were probably 15 that were used consistently in A-spec events (what I would consider to be the 'core' of Career mode. If anyone can remember to back to GT4, there were new tracks being unlocked deep into the game and it kept you coming back for more.

I'm looking forward to all of GT5's DLC and GT6's new additional tracks being available for career mode this time. How many tracks are actually selected for A-spec events remains to be seen but I'm fairly confident the game will feel larger.

Luckily GT6 won't also have many new cars to fit the theme. This sounds promising as they clearly have been working on something and it will be totally new and unknown. Ok, we already know that new physics are great.

I like the track additions, some good tracks in there. I still hope to see Seattle and El Capitan but I like what I have saw so far and hope to see more as DLC, ideally free DLC

I do not remember tracks being unlocked deep into the game. [in GT4 that is]
Seems like by the time I was at 25% all of them were available if not sooner

All I'm arguing for is that how many new tracks GT4 had after GT3, and GT5 had 20 now we only have 8?
Well now theres much more details going into tracks and cars so its common sense really that they will take longer to create.Expecting more tracks in a 3 or 4 year time span with the pint sized team pd has is unrealistic. They need more people or start out sourcing to keep up with the pace of gt1-4.

Agreed. Would also love to see Seattle and Infineon make a come back, then I'd be content till GT7 :)

Seattle might upset the new suspension physics if not done right! My friend and I used to run RUF Yellowbird time trial on it to learn the handling of MR cars:) Fond memories.

Speaking of Infineon, with NASCAR in the game, hopefully the track will be DLC. I hardly use Laguna Seca. With Willow Springs available, I dont think I'll touch Laguna Seca again. This is why we need another circuit like Infineon. It has two layouts and enjoyed the countdown from 2hrs 45min. I hope the endurance races countdown the clock.

Find a way to roadblock the Ai in the pits, turn on TV, resume game in 3 hours and win with low number of laps:)

Of the tracks GT5 shipped with.... I'd talk one new real circuit over 3 versions of chamonix, or 3 different eiger trails.

Not to mention Silverstones 4 layouts, Brands has two, Willow springs has 2, we have Bathurst and Ascari too (both presumably 1 layout). There's the goodwood hill climb too. Add to that two new original venues and the return of an old one, plus the DLC tracks from GT5 that GT5 did not originally have (4 locations/10 layouts), plus the later addition of a new course maker.... I really don't think we can grumble too much!

GT6 will get Twelve DLC tracks , PD could pretty much include every legacy track if they wanted too..

Why 12?

I saw the "one track every month" comment, but didn't see the limitation to one year.

Anyone expecting 12 DLC tracks period, but especially within one year, is going to be extremely, extremely disappointed. It took 3 years and a brand new game to get seven new tracks.

There's no way in hell we're going to get a brand new track every month until next December. Just not going to happen. Maybe some custom PD made tracks using the course maker, but certainly not real world or original courses. We only got two real tracks as DLC in GT5 (Spa and Motegi), plus two other tracks -- SSRX (good for testing but otherwise not much of a track) and Kart Space, useless for pretty much anything that's not a kart.

Even if PD really does stick to its word and really embrace the whole DLC thing, I certainly would not expect more than 5 tracks through DLC, and even that's probably expecting too much already. 2-3 real/original tracks is probably safe, with the likely addition of some PD made course maker tracks. If we do get more than 3 real/original courses I'll be quite happy though. Seattle, Midfield and Interlagos would be pretty decent.

Nah, the Ascari Race Resort in my opinion will have more layouts in GT6.

I think will have minimum 4 layouts.

I'd like to see a new version of the old GT2 Track RedRock Valley.
Always thought that was a nice flowing high speed circuit.
Kind of like an alternate version of Grand Valley.

Yeah its called they have a back log of tracks done already.. PD may have 4 or five Tracks Done , 5 or so in the works and one or two planned.. being held back from initial release. Look at Seattle. Not In game, but spotted in a Trailer.

There could be:

- Full Track
- Track 1
- Track 2
- Track 3
- Track 1+2
- Track 1+3

6 variations in total.

Yeah, but you know PD never does that. They didn't even include Suzuka West in GT5... I really wouldn't be at all surprised if it's only the full track, or maybe the full track plus track 1 with 2 and 3 oddly missing.

The site says 100 variations of tracks. So maybe we can tally up the tracks and their layouts to see where we sit? Or is there a thread for that?

PD won't need to make lots of new tracks because of the GPS course maker, IMO. But, the tracks that they WILL have should be used throughout the game, not just a "choice few", with the rest ignored....

Their website states there will be 37 locations and 100 variations.
If they mean 100 unique variations (not including reverse ones of original tracks), then it means they've bumped up their amount creatively like I did in this list (variations listed in red)

If they mean 100 variations including reverse ones, then if you exclude those listed in red you've got pretty much all GT6 has to offer at launch, with room for a couple more ones that might have not been unveiled yet.

Two tracks at Willow Springs. Those arent technically variations but separate tracks. Also Goodwood might have the racetrack in addition to the hillclimb. If theyre counting reverse imo there is more than 100 variations.

Real tracks are never driven in reverse.
Not in real life nor in Gran Turismo.
