Will there be a McLaren P1 in GT6?

More supercars / hypercars would be welcomed by me. Today I saw a picture of the GT3 race version of the Bentley Continental - I would love to have that in the game.

I'm looking forward to the Light Car Company Rocket and the KTM Crossbow. It probably won't appear in the game, but I would love to have the Ultima GTR720 - 1000kg, 720bhp, fastest road car lap of the top gear test track (unofficial), one time multiple record holder for 0-100, 0-100-0, highest lateral g for a road car etc, etc.

I would also like more classic supercars: Aston Martin DB5, Ferrari 250 GTO, premium Jaguar E Type, AC Cobra 289, Premium GT350 Mustang - that lot would enable some great classic racing.

It's PD. You can't be sure until you have the game in front of you. So yeah, I wouldn't count on it, but if it makes its way into the game, I would probably cry tears if joy.

After the Forza 5 reveal (I was drooling, not because of Forza 5, but because the contents of the trailer F1 vs P1... it was beautiful) I am going to be really upset if the P1 isn't in the game. Would be a huge mistake and missed opportunity.

Also, as others said, LaFerrari (the F50 would be nice too as it was missing from GT5) and the koenigsegg agera r (among others, they weren't even represented in GT5...for shame)

I'm not that crazy about them either. I know a lot of people went crazy over the Bugatti but personally I think it is ugly and does not drive very well. It is fast no doubt as are the other hyper cars but speed without handling is not a good combination.

There are lots of very fast cars in GT5 and of course the fastest of them all in the X1 if that's what you are into.

There are lots of super/hyper cars in Forza 4 but they do not win many races, they are fast but do not handle well enough to beat slower cars on most circuits

Many people I find don't have the patience to really drive them, and even still...they are only really fun on a track like La Sarthe. Just like most on the Nurburgring, most don't choose their places wisely, it makes it difficult to run on it at all. And faster cars just seem to exasperate the issue. You could run a 'Ring race with P1s or whatever, but the people would have to be very highly skilled. I of course never have a problem with more cars though, and it would be fun to drive.

Cars are licensed on a per car basis, not just as a whole as a manufacturer. They agree on a car or set of cars when signing an agreement.

The Huayra was EA exclusive for a year, for example. PD has a Pagani licence but they couldn't just include any Pagani with it, only the models agreed.

I had no idea, interesting.

It's probably a lot more completed and all written in legalese between the two companies but that is the basic version of how licensing works. There may be a very rare ocassion where a manufacturer says "We allow you to model any car we ever made" but I doubt it's very often, certainly not with the big boys.

More Hyper and Supercars do need to be included, especially ones where PD already have some licences already. However, I also think more mundane 'sports' cars should be added. Things like the Mk1 Ford Escort, the Cosworth Fords, Vauxhall Astra VXR, Citroen Saxo VTR/Kit Car. Cars that you might see on the street every day that for their time were quite fast.

I can drive pretty much anything. I just really do not like the way they drive.
Old Lemans is one place where they can win just due to the long straight and the high top speed though they can still be beat by a slower car, just needs to be a fast slower car.

On Nurburgring they would be quite a challenge to win with unless you are racing against the same type of car or inferior drivers.

I will run the Venom or the S7 on Lemans from time to time, would not bother with either of them on the ring though I have taken the Venom out a few times on other tracks just for fun but my point was they really do not handle very well. A big mismatch between speed and handling on these and I would rather drive something else. If I want to drive something fast give me something like a 787B and if I want a car that does not handle good then give me some classic muscle but I really do not like having 25 different hyper cars that although fast can not compete with a good moderately fast car on most tracks.

Edit: I was referring of course to the way they drive in Forza. I would imagine they would drive better in GT

If you want a production car that can out-perform basically any other street-legal road car with creature comforts (sorry Ariel Atom), you pretty much have to go to McLaren. (The Pagani String-of-Vowels has only recently topped the Top Gear Test Track's Power Board, and I wouldn't be surprised if the P1 ends up there.) It would be unacceptable to ignore the most technologically-advanced production cars.

I really hope this car's in the game!! After watching Jay Leno take that car around Dunsfold (he ordered one in yellow by the way) I'd love to take that amazing automobile around for a spin...

Maybe on 6th of December or maybe later as DLC...

Kaz: "Nah, we need that space for the 51st Skyline"

Hopefully it'll be included at some point, the car is an absolute beauty 👍

The MP4-12C was in GT5 right from the beginning, along with the McLaren F1 as the game officially featured McLaren for the first time, so I don't see why GT6 should be any different with the P1.

Maybe the Forza partnership might affect it, but I think that's just us being too paranoid after dealing with the Porsche fiasco for years (and maybe the Top Gear track's absence in GT6). But frankly, if the car doesn't make it in the game I'd chalk in down to PD not getting around to it more than anything else. They're a bit clueless sometimes when it comes to cars most people want to drive.

The fact that Koenigsegg is not yet in GT is a joke. I remember someone here sent an email to Koenigsegg before GT5 asking if they'd been contacted by PD for their cars to be in the game and the guy misunderstood and said something like "yes, we'd love to have our cars in your game!" With a door that wide open, come on PD... Koenigsegg is a big deal, somewhat similar to Pagani.

That's said, I 100% expect status quo with no appearance from Koenigsegg in GT6. Same goes for brands like Gumpert and Noble. Just can't see it happening based on PD's recent history. The P1 I'd say I'm about 50% sure we'll see it at launch or not. The LaFerrari has a much better chance I think, probably 80%. I'd die to see an F50 in GT6 but sadly I'm not very optimistic it's going to happen. I want it so badly but to be realistic with PD's usual direction, I'd only give it about a 25% chance. It was saddening to read GT5's car list and see the early dealership videos online and to see that car missing, and I'm really expecting the same disappointment this time around, only I'm more ready for it.

I never got the appeal of Koenigsegg, to me they always appear as a rather generic hypercar stereotype, nothing particularly unique or characteristic that sets them apart (just a squat, wide and dull basic shape), aside from impressive performance figures or that they seem to be build to a very high standard.

I used to feel that way about Koenigsegg until I watched the series on /DRIVE, especially the "Triplex suspension" and the "Future of the ICE" ones. Those two videos gave me a whole new respect for Koenigsegg. (The whole series is great though and you should watch it.)

I'd like any absolutely Bonkers Hypercar to challenge my DS3 skills in the game.

The P1 to me is unlikely, the LaFerrari and the Veneno (Only 4 of them exist, but PD might be able to get their hands on the one that's with Lamborghini) as well, although I've been surprised by the Huayra (Totally unexpected car :embarrassed:) my hopes remain low for these absolutely insane machines.

Wow...it's like, there's no excuse if we don't get one!

Looks like it's going to be DLC. Was looking forward to getting to drive the next-gen hypercars on launch day but there's plenty of other things to look forward to in the new game regardless.

Despite the P1 not being the game. Like others have said, it can always be added via DLC.
Sure, but with PD's depressing definition of DLC it's very difficult to get excited for it. The contrast behind GT and FM's DLC... oh dear.

I was looking forward to seeing the P1 and LaFerrari in GT6. Hopefully they come out in future DLCs but knowing PD, there's a minute possibly of that happening.

Yep I am another that wants the P1 something chronic. It's by far one of the best looking whips I have ever seen. I would hope for DLC on this as I highly doubt it will be amongst the final reveal.

Completely unfounded theory there.
McLaren is partners with Turn 10 in their next game with the P1 being the "hero car", so i highly doubt that. Besides, they're not anal as EA when it comes to licensing.

Samus, this was along the lines I was referring to. As I mentioned earlier I could not concrete it but someone else (LS2BG) has heard or saw the same or similar

Still don't understand the big deal over one car or the other... There just cars like every other car. Seriously? Anyways I got other cars to enjoy and will await this one.

Yes but as I said in the other thread, there is no actual evidence of exclusivity, just assumptions. They have a partnership, yes, but so do other companies. It's not exclusive unless anyone says it is.

Note in that second article it mentions that the F1 cars are exclusive but NOT the road cars.
