Right. Let's get this straight seeing as you're talking about me. The extra lap that gt300's have to do ahead of gt500's, no speed indication is given in the OP so I just took it easy and stuck at around 55 mph (warm up lap speed). I kept a gap of about 10 seconds behind the gt500s when we did eventually got onto the warm up lap. I went round the last corner, waited a few seconds, then put my foot down - the polesitter gives the green flag any time before the start line (as stated in the OP). However, I looked back and you were still at 55 mph. So I kindly waited for you, and you still didn't put your foot down. Your problem mate, not mine.
I just want to clear this up, because that's not how the start procedure works. We run at 55mph until the grid slots. From there you pick when you want to put your foot down. There is to be no passing and no changing of formation until after the start/finish line. The OP says; "The Pole sitter will decide the Green Flag before the Finish line" - Out of the last corner is way too early. If you floor it then, we have to stay in formation until the start finish line, by which time we'll be doing 140mph. I don't think so.
Maybe the OP needs to be clarified further as to when exactly the polesitter can floor it; if you floor it out of the last corner at Fuji you are still
half a mile away from the start finish line.
And I'm sorry mole if it looked like I squeezed you out down into the back hairpin on one of the starting laps, didn't mean that.
Meh, no problem. I haven't raced against you before so I didn't know what to expect in terms of passing moves and defence. I know the other drivers in the series quite well so I know who will attack and who will defend, so I was quite nervous with you behind me as to where I could turn in and whether you'd be trying a move up the inside or not. To be honest I still don't know, but that will come over time; when racing close together it's important to know roughly what the other driver will do. I think it was a bit of a problem racing so closely at Fuji without having raced against you before - the last sector especially has so many different possible lines that often I was worried about crossing over on the apex or something; looking forward to close racing at Le Mans which is all a lot more obvious. 👍
Also sorry if there was some damage, didn't realise that - I noticed one or two times where your car slid to the left as if it had been hit into turn 1, but I was actually (on my screen) about half a car width away from you still. Some lag, maybe? Also my tyres and setup were rubbish, so that's my excuse for being super slow on the apex of a few corners sometimes
- ...Also I had a minor drama on Lap 8 and 9 when my DS3 decided it wanted to tell me it was running out of battery. So any sort of horizontal driving down the straight on those laps were when I was looking for the USB cable >_>
Also btw Pagi, there isn't a Fastest Lap award for each division; it's just the fastest lap overall. So it looks like Schumi gets the fastest lap in GT500 despite racing in D2, Aderrrm gets the GT300 one.
