::::: RACE BRIEFING :::::

Please look at the schedule above 100 times - now again 100 times! Do not forget or get confused with the time!
Division 2 room will open right after the Division 1 race. Both race will be 30 laps long with 1 mandatory Pit-Stop.

Parade Lap & Rolling Start

We will have 1 parade lap! Pole Sitter (D1: GTP_Sigma / D2: Paginas) will maintain a pace of 45mph/70kph the whole lap and
lead the whole field (in case there's no safety car/pace car). Please do not go faster! After everyone goes pass the 'Corkscrew'
bunch up together and form a double file line. After the hairpin, everyone is still going to maintain 45mph/70kph. The Pole Sitter
will dictate the rolling start. He will start a few feet before the Finish Line. No passing allowed before the line!

REMEMBER your spots on the grid!
Remember who is in-front and behind you!
Below is a diagram of how we will line-up:

tolerance to reckless and over aggressive driving! Last but not the least, have fun! and don't
be discourage if you fall behind.

senses, be on the lookout for headlights in your rear-view mirror.
________________________________________ ______________________________________

Qualifying Process
Determining who gets in to race will not be decided through a 'first-come-first-serve'
basis. Entrants must submit a Time Trial lap on every track we will race on. Rules below.

Super Lap Qualifying
Drivers must submit an 'Official' qualifying lap by posting it here inside the thread.
You can do this by attaching your replay file or embedding a YouTube video in your post.

For Example:
Guten tag! Here is my 'Official' Qualifying Lap Replay Submission

PSN: GTP_Player1
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Car: Autobacs ARTA Garaiya
Class: GT300
Lap Time: 1'45.983

Open for review and validation, file below:
*Replay file attached here = OR = Youtube video embedded here*

Anyone of the entrants can review and confirm your lap's validity. Deadline for submitting is
11:59PM PST (GMT-8) Wednesday of the current race week. You can only submit once!
Declare that it is your official lap when you post it! Also, by submitting a Lap, you declare to
everyone that you are committed to make the race schedule! If not, please inform the organizer
that you wish to withdraw; at least a 2 days before-hand (before raceday)!
Rules
  • Run in Practice Mode! (Clutch prohibited for G25/G27 users)
  • Use soft Racing Tires, keep the car stock! NO MODS!
  • Feel free to tune your suspensions, trans, aero, & brakes
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/Ripple strips are part of the track
  • The green painted concrete next to the rumbles is not part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track
  • No contact with walls or object, visible or invisibile
  • If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
  • Otherwise, if confirmed dirty, a 5 second penalty will be imposed on your lap
  • You can only submit/post your lap once, make it count!
  • Feel free to discuss your lap times in the thread

Replay Checking
  • It is customary for all participants of WSGTC to verify each others submitted replays
  • Once you have checked the replay, reply in this thread to say that you have checked it
  • Declare whether it's clean, dirty or if it doesn't meet the required race specifications
  • If you are unsure about a replay, always seek a second opinion before posting

Once the times are confirmed, a list will be posted the next day. There will be 32 drivers max.
Since we can't race 32 drivers at the same time, we will split the grid into two races. We will
call these Division 1 and Division 2; each Races with 16 drivers each.

  • GT500 and GT300 will start as separate packs
  • When the countdown reaches zero, the GT500 Pole Sitter will drive upfront to lead his class

  • GT300 Pole Sitter will then follow behind the GT500 pack
  • Rest of GT300 cars must follow based on the qualifying results
  • The start will be double file (two rows)
  • Both Pole Sitters will always start at the Inside Lane relative to Turn 1
  • The GT500 pole sitter will dictate the green flag a few hundred feet before the start finish line
  • No passing before the start finish line or you will be penalized!
________________________________________ _______________________________________

Raceday
There will be 2 races held based on qualifying times on each Race day
Top 8 speeds on each class will be in Division 1
Next 8 speeds on each class will be in Division 2
So there will be 16 cars for each races making a max grid of 32 (Hopefully)

Division 1
Top 8 Speeds - GT500
Top 8 Speeds - GT300

Division 2
9 - 16 Speeds - GT500
9 - 16 Speeds - GT300

Divisioon 1 and 2 will be hosted in the open lobbies. Qualified drivers will be sent a
invited to access the room. Until further notice, only Masi_23 (GTP_Masicampo) will host the
races, otherwise, both races can be held simultaneously with 2 hosts. Volunteers, welcome.

Any driver who pulls out from Division 1 race will be replaced by someone from Division 2. Cut
off for replacements will be 2 hours before actual race time. Anyone who pulls out further down
the speed chart (Division 2) will be replaced by someone from the waiting list. Otherwise, if any
Division 1 race was held without a full grid, official results from Division 2 will move up depending
on the number of empty spots in Division 1.

Note
A replay of the whole race will be saved and reviewed by race stewards!
Incidents must be reported 24 hours after the race. Appropriate penalties will be applied
and announced along with the official results.
________________________________________ _______________________________________

Driver's Reputation

Every week, drivers will be awarded or deducted points depending on their race conduct (Points will vary).
This Rep system will be a good way of telling who's clean or dirty and who's patient or aggressive.

Points: (TBA)

Well I just had a go @ laguna and best lap so far is a 01.24.481 I reckon best times will be around 22 lows for sure

i just have a question about the weigth limit because the limi is 1100 kg the toyota yellowhat yms supra weigths 1090 kg

Its only 10kg so it wont be a big issue to lower it to 1090.

Anyway, what do you guys think about the Nismo Z? A little too powerful? 100lb more torque compared to the other GT500 cars. Im not trying to single out Chorda here, much respect to him, he was fast, putting out 1'28s consistenyly, but ive discussed this issue before with johnkiller and considered banning it altogether. HP goes up to 534+ i believe; along with 100 more torques: thats greatly advantageous specially with complex, slow race tracks. And the HP cap will have to be always set at 542 (instead of 522) which is a lot of breathing room to encourage cheating.

And yes, testing suggest that lap times can be very similar but i would imagine its much harder to match the speed of the Nismo using the tail happy NSX (Next best car IMO), you have to be really smooth with the throttle.

When was the last time the Nismo competed in Super GT (IRL) anyway?

BTW, where are all the Germans at? :dopey:

i think it is a good idea to ban the nismo z it has quit a big advantage over the other gt 500 cars. i belive the last year of the nizmo z in super gt (irl) was 2007

Masi_23: Yes, the NISMO Z is a really quick car. Most of all because of the engine in front (makes turning easyer, specially on a track like Monaco), not so much because of the tourqe. I can't remember exactly were the rewlimiter kicks in, but I think that the NSX rews higher, and therefor can reach almost (518?) same hp as NISSAN Z. As we all know, POWER=rews•tourge. Meening that an engine with more tourqe but les rews outputs about the same power as an engine with less tourqe but higher rews. But looking at my time I guess is a good setup. Cause I've never been near the Yellowhat GT-R' 1:27.3XX.. Ofc it can depend on my drivingskills are not as good as Nissman or Tony. So I don't think you should ban my beloved NISSAN Z :) If I did laptimes no one could touch with another car I'd understand. But I don't think that the car is so much better than the NSX. In Monaco it has a lot to do with the weight distribution of an FR more than its power. It's an advantage in Monaco but could be a disadvsntage on other trackd.

NOTE: About the tourqe, the NSX crossed the finishline at around 210 km/h and my NISMO Z did it at around 208 km/h.. So my taughts about that the weight distribution thru FR instead of MR is making the difference in Monaco feels like the better reason in my book..
Also keep in mind that the Yellowhat GT-R is also an FR. Probably why all the really fast laptimes in Monaco is done by FR cars. It's an advantage at Monaco, but maybe not on other less tighter tracks.

Just my 2 cents..

Masi, how can you check that all the rules about modifying cars are followed? I know you can check for hp and weight, but how about rigidity improvement, for example?

Also, what time do you think you will be running the races in the future? When I start work in a couple of weeks this time won't be good for me, unfortunately.

Anyway, thanks for setting his up.

Yes, that's probobly accurate. But that season (according to PD) was not something to cheer about. If the car was that much better, they had performed much better that year..

Please, please, please, don't ban ny beloved car that I have spent hours and hours tuning for the Monaco race..

If the raceresults stated:
1.nismo
2.nismo
3.nismo
I'd understand. But that's not the case. Fastest car so far is the Yellowhat GT-R with a "science-fiction" laptime of 1:27.3, remember, also an FR. It has a great impact on a circuit like Monaco..

Masi_23: My NISMO Z is fully broken in (shoul be after 5 days of intense driving online, and in practicemode) with an oilchange as well, showing 528hp..

If you are worried about cheating, there are already possibilitys with rigidy improvments. So he who wants to cheat already does, imo.

With or without the NISMO Z, cheating is still a posibility. So banning NISMO Z will not protect the Championship from cheaters.

But I hope, from the bottom of my heart that nobody would do that.. And I don't think that the drivers that have signd up for this event will cheat at all. We are all gentlemen, right?

Yellowhat GT-R is the fastest car becouse Tony is driving it. He would propablly drive similar times with any Super GT car you give him.

I'm not saying that the Z should be banned, it's a Super GT car and it deserves its place in this competition.

P.s. I really don't get why my race best lap (29.2xx) was so off pace from qualifying (27.4xx).

I guess I wasn't quite on form yesterday, still managed to bring it home tho.

Online times are always slower, I doubt anyone got within a second of their qualifying time - If you did, kudos :P - Less grip or something, there is a big topic about it somewhere on GTP.

No clue regarding the Z since I rarely drive GT500, but I think the Arta is a bit quick in GT300. I certainly can't match times I do in the Lexus to times I do in the Arta. However we also saw the RX7s competing for fastest in qualifying this week, so maybe some RX7 drivers can comment on the pace relative to the Arta? I've not driven that car to be able to say.

Then again, isn't it going to be impossible to level the GT300 field? Any improvement you make to a GT300 car by tuning is going to make it too quick, like a small turbo for example I imagine will raise it by way more than the 20hp the Lexus requires.

Going to do a few laps in the Lexus at Laguna Seca now, see how it compares at a slightly quicker and more open circuit :)

BTW, is qualifying on Racing Softs or Racing Hards?

Last edited:
Maybe reduce the weight of the lexus a tad? Ill check and test what mods i can put in the Lexus. And as for quali, we will use softs as it would be harder to police if we restrict it to hards.

Havent read your post as it looks gigantic on my iphone :) But yah, i havent
driven my Nismo as much so im seeking second opinions. Johnkiller drives the
Nismo as well, im sure he'll have a say.

About the laptimes: Ok, maybe some cars are a bit quicker then others. BUT, are you shore it's the car? We all have different setups, we are all different skilled drivers, all tracks are different.

What I'm trying to say is: If one driver did tune and setup each car on each track, we would have a lot more to go by, trying to decide which car is the fastest. Until then, I don't think we can make a banning decition about a car just looking at the result from Monaco. The laptimes between GT-R Yellowhat/Nissan Motul Autech GT-R/Nissan Xanavi Nismo Z/Honda Arta NSX/Honda Raybring NSX is not to far apart if you ask me. Something that do appear tho, is that the 3 best Q-times are done with an FR car. I also think that the 5 best times (I consider a time below 1:29 as quick) show that the NXS's is'nt a slower car, just has a little disadvantage thru weightdistribution for the specific track. Think that it might could be the other way around on other tracks. The NSX is realy quick around Nurburgring Nordshleife for example. I can just look at my own time beeing 0,4 sec faster (I did a 1:28.5XX with the Raybring NSX after submitting my Q-lap) with my Nismo Z compared to the Raybring NSX at Monaco. So yes, for me the Nismo Z is quicker than the Raybring NSX. But I would really state that it has to do with the weight distribution/kind of track rather than tourqe.

P.S Masi_23: Can you put me up on the GT500 list of drivers for the whole season with a flag and everything? :)

Its not just basing it on Lap times alone (or Monaco). A couple of weeks back, Me, Johnkiller, and some other guy tested the cars and they all seem pretty even. The other concern is with the HP limit since we can only cap the Nismo Z if we have it set at 542. That leaves a lot of room to possibly upgrade any of the remaining GT500 cars, specially the NSX.

I'll update the list later. Ill be taking out most of them :)

The Nismo does seem faster and indeed easier in the small corners. Haven't tested with it myself but figured this much seeing Chorda going around some laps.
Now my NSX was on 95% stock setup for the race and could only do 30's at best so would not have been able to keep up anyway. With a proper setup I think the FR engined cars would still have a davantge on Monaco which is all good to me tbh, every track has his pro's and con's for certain cars. Just make sure for the season everyone sticks to 1 car and it will play out ?

Think the power difference that is there for the nismo is kinda of a issue I guess ? Should have a crack at testing between that and the other cars.

Is PD going to give players, the option to switch off all the screen data when racing someday? Because earlier someone spoke about, that people should use their mirrors to be aware of faster cars behind. But in my Yellowhat GT-R I do not have a chance to see the mirror because of the standings. My only option is to press L1 to look back. And that is a bit chance-taking.
What do you guys think?

As I said, the possibility to cheat is already there, you will not get rid of cheaters by banning the NISMO Z, trust me.

And it feels really sad if the NISMO Z gets banned, cause I have put down many hours in tuning the car for all tracks that are on the list for the Championship.

If it was not allowed you shoul'nt have it the list on 1st post in the first place. Specially since you did testing "A couple of weeks back" and it did not get banned then. Why now?

Well, it was considered but we decided to let it play out during the preseason and see how it goes. Then we make a decision. Im all for democracy, im just putting it out there for everyone to discuss; agree/disagree. We'll keep it as it is for now.
