Just did a 4:11.919 in that practice room (RX7 GT300, no slipstream) - on first flying lap, so a lot of fuel on board. :dopey:

Wow,
thanks for posting, thats more that 10secs off mine

Could I somehow join you guys to get maybe a few inputs as a beginner? Have you edged your cars for top speed? Thats insane :)

I´m driving the Autobacs Garaiya 03, but doesn´t seem to be such a big difference between the GT300 cars. Or am I missing out something?

And using wheel, I guess the same is with you?

Maybe anyone practicing currently?

Any input is much appreciated..

2 VERY IMPORTANT questions. :)

What tyres do you use?

Is that time of yours done in practice-mode or online/your own lounge?

Why don't you just turn off the router firewall when you are going to play GT5.
That should give you a better NAT type.

Or have you tried that allready?

Doesn't work, seriously... Opening ports doesn't work either (I know, same as disabling firewall). If UPnP stops working on my PS3 for some reason, I will get NAT3. It's back to NAT2 after restarting it [router] twice.

I think there is only so much you can do. Certain routers / ISP's just don't seem to like Upnp, and the PSN itself doesn't help much since it is so unstable and sketchy.

i did a 4:12:5xx in the garayia it does really lack of topspeed but in the race with slipstream i dont think it is going to be a big problem

@competizione, Andil, Denilson:
Thanks guys for telling me. Seems I have to find another rhythm at La Sarthe.
It´d like to send you a psn friends request, cause knowing guys who I could learn from and maybe getting some input would be nice. Friend requests on the way :)

@competizione: Couldn´t find your PSN tag.

@Denilson: Was running practice mode just me on the track, with racing hard, as the regulations allow.

About lap times in GT500. Don't drive the track well yet but I think below is a fair statement.

If you run in free run with no slipstream effect, take all corners legal and not using off track road, and get a time under 4 min, that's a very good lap.

Times differs a lot with slipstream and if you cut any of two long chicanes on the mulsane straight or the last chicane before start/finish.

Yes, I totally agree with u, for me cut a lot all the circuit chicanes is not legal. It's ok just after a driver mistake..

Hey lads, i'm afraid i may miss the race later today. About 70% :( Any other capable host for GT300?

Updated Grid:

Just want to remind everyone (to the noobs mainly) to read the OP to minimize any confusions (OP - Page 1 / Post 1, 2, 3, and 4)!

Just for good measure, here's the Race Rules
Tires: Racing Hard
Oil Change: Allowed
Engine Overhaul: Allowed
Chassis Restoration: Allowed
Installing Modified/Aftermarket Parts: Banned!
Tuning (Suspension, Aero, Trans, Brakes, LSD): Allowed

Race Distance: 20 Laps
Mandatory Pit Stop: 1
Damage: Heavy

ABS: Optional
Driving Line: Off
Active Steering: Off
Traction Control: Off
Skid Recovery Force: Off
Active Stability Management: Off
Grip Reduction on Wet Track/Track Edge: Real
Mic/Headsets: Off for all drivers except Race Stewards

...and the Rolling Start Procedure
The start of the race will be before the right after the first chicane at Mulsane Straight - this will be on Lap 1!

  • First, you must remember your Grid Spot (Super Lap Qualifying)
  • Hold your positions when countdown reaches zero
  • Pole sitter will make his way upfront!
  • Cars must roll in a maintained pace of 55 mph / 90 kmh
  • Sort your positions based on the Super Lap Results
  • Field will roll double file (form two lines)
  • Odd numbers will start on the inside lane relative to turn 1
  • Even numbers will stay on the outside lane (Opposite side)
  • The Pole sitter will decide the Green Flag before the Finish line
  • You must maintain a minimum of One car length between you and the car in-front (same lane)
  • One car length is minimum, meaning it's up to you how large the gap will be
  • You must always maintain visual contact with the car beside you
  • You're bumper must not go pass the rear bumper of the car beside you
  • You must wait for the car beside you to move forward before you floor it!
  • No passing before the start finish line! Penalties will be strictly enforced for false starts, illegal passing, and overall aggressive driving!

Thanks for posting Masi,
though as I´m on the waiting list, best chances for me to participate would be as a jump-in driver only, I guess. Nevertheless, I´m excited to follow the schedule and maybe more participants will join.
@ Driver´s list: Autobacs Garaiya ´03 is the car I´ve chosen, maybe you can add this info sometime. Thx,

Seb.

I haven't heard from at least 3 of the listed drivers in GT300, so more than likely, you will be able to start.

That´d be cool. Though, as a few others posted their laptimes, I´m 10 secs  off at the moment.
This does also mean, that probably it won´t be you, who´s hosting today? Hope anyone will be capable in substitute you in this case. Will there be a short info on this? Just asking, because chances are that I´ll have to send a friend request through PSN cause do not know too much drivers in the WSGTC currently.
Else It´d be difficult to find the room for me..

Thx, Seb.

follow this thread and you'll get all the info u need. Room numbers will be posted.

doesnt matter if you're off the pace - just try to keep it simple and try to not have accidents because slipstream will help u keep pace on this track

The start of the race will be before the right after the first chicane at Mulsane Straight - this will be on Lap 1!

I will the poleman in the GT500 race. Given above, here is how I intend to do it so you can be better prepared. If what I plan has errors, pls reply and I adjust.

I will take left lane as the second chicane is to the left so it will be the inside lane to that corner. So for the field, odd starting numbers left lane, even right lane.

I will floor it aproximately when I'm even to the last corner APEX of the first chicane. The chicane has three corners right-left-right. So I will floor it when I'm around the third corner APEX. As I will be on the outside lane of this corner it might be difficult for me to exactly see when I'm at the APEX, but I will do my best.

Most of the field will still be in the chicane if I play it as above. Just so you know. Or is it another point down the straight which would be better.

BTW, the field will be extremely compressed at the first race chicane, given the long straight and slip stream effect. Anybody want to guess how many cars will get damage in that chicane. My bet is at least more than five.

Thanks Kat,

nice to have you guys leading me a bit. Will take a small time to get into the routine, but somehow you have to start.

I´d like to introduce myself here, too. The link leads me to this thread, cause the former one is closed. Is it ok when I do posting it here?

Seb.

I think starting on that apex is gonna separate the field and from our previous races, the rolling start we use is meant to start us racing, with our position at the next guys bumper?

Okay, as I said before, I'm not going to be able to make the race, and possibly not the series atall. My internet is extremely unstable around 11pm GMT nowadays, so instead of risking a bit of racing and probably affecting other racers around me negatively, I have to drop out. I didn't want to, but I literally have no choice, the internet just isn't great around here. I'm sorry it's at quite late notice, but this new problem only arose 1 or 2 days ago. Hope you guys have a good race and a great series, a lot of great racers here that I couldn't keep up with here anyway 👍

Must be annoying that your ISP is the only reason why you can't race with us (or others online). Hope you would be able to get another ISP in your area.

Sounds good, I'll do the same in GT300.

PSN: Wardez
Class: 300 - RE Amemiya Asparadrink RX-7
Location: US
Control: G27

Throw me on the waiting list. That's a slow test I posted.

I'll be more than capable of hosting the race as I know most every rule and regulation Masi has determined.
I'd love to be a part of the last pre-season race. I'm going to be pretty dedicated so you can definitely depend on me. I'll PM you with some ideas I have later.

Just following up on the first post I made which was the first post in thread one, hah.
Let me know what's good.

I can't really wrap my head around the concept of leaving drivers out...seeing as we don't have enough people for a D2 there should be two separate GT500 races with 10 drivers (or whatever til we get everyone in) each, then top 8 (or something) from each group qualify for the final event.

GT300 Host

As im not sure i can make the scheduled race time, i am giving priority to Wardez to be in the grid even if he has no points at all to serve as Host. Although i think he'll get in anyway regardless since about 3-4 people from the grid has been noticably quiet since last week.

But anyway, nice havin you back Wardez 👍
