I just don't wanna hear about the buildings should have been built stronger!!! :mad: Most high rises would have fallen right after being hit.... not even lasting an hour.... I commend the engineer of the towers, for even providing a building that lasted an hour under those conditions!!

The building quality was phenomonal actually. It's just that after two hours of exposed heat, industrial steel begins to melt. Both buildings were right on cue.

exactly!!! but you have to take in considertion, i bet 50% of major columns were taking out, so not only did the remaining stell beams with stand the heat for that long, but picked up the extra 50% of the weight!!! Amazing.... I just wanna make sure everyone understands that the buildings performed amazingly under the conditions they were put in... Poeple tend to look for excuses for what happened, and the buildings are in no way at fault!!! :( :mad: :eek: :confused: :(
 
the death toll is gonna be amazing... :( truely, we have to do something to show america or the free world is not going to stand for this... :mad:

I wish that I could come up with a picture, but you have the bearing columns on the four corners, and a smaller cube in the interior that house the elevators. So you are talking eight altogether. (I believe.)
 
I beleive that is correct.... Most buildings in that shape, take that kinda skelaton... I do believe it was built w/ more bracing too... Making it stronger then the average scraper.
 
The buzz-word "retalliation" has been flying fast and furious, implying the desire to find someone we THINK if guilty and killing them in a graphic and excruciating fashion to match the crime. There are two problems here.

1) Retribution would be better - retalliation is usually just mindlessly lashing out, whereas retribution suggests at least some sense of justice. Is it a poor choice of words, or is revenge really more important than justice?

2) We don't (yet) KNOW who's responsible - Considering the list of enemies, both foreign and domestic, that the United States has made over the years, it's a bit tricky right off the bat. Add in the possibility that it was somebody we never thought possible...
If you think that sounds crazy, remember that Timothy McVeigh did the Oklahoma City bombing, not some Middle East terrorists. It could have been sympathizers and/or copy cats.
Before we punish ANYONE, we must be SURE that we got the right people.

In the meantime, we must do all we can to rescue the survivors, honor the fallen, and comfort their friends and family in this time of need.

those of us as americans watched in horror as our nation was attacked y cowardly terrorists, any mature and semi educated comments are welcome, move this to where ever you would like jordan
 
I can't wait to see Afghanistan and Pakistan hit, and hit hard by us. It really pissed me of to see people celebrating in the streets; I hope they get what's coming to them.

What i can't believe is that there were 3-5 terrorists on each plane, and almost 100 passengers. Why didn't they passengers get together and attack the terrorists. They were gonna die anyway, they might as well have saved the rest of the people on the plane and the thousands of people killed in New York and D.C.
Maybe two people would have been stabbed by each terrorist if they attacked, and they probably would have lived. At worse 6-10 people would have died per plane, but what they would have done would have been spectacular and would have saved literally thousands of lives. I know if i would have been on one of those planes, i would have summoned up some courage and attacked the bastards.
