WORLD WAGON CHAMPIONSHIP Fridays 17:30 EDT/22:30 BST: CONGRATS TO CHAMPION JOE__KERR/REEFER

Great races, fantastic pace Joe. Thought I had you last lap in race 1 but not to be. Really good racing, lots of room given when needed. Well done

Aye when I was behind tom I was seeing some lag too, takes the edge off a bit as you always want to avoid contact. Never had that with Tom before, had you cleared your cache tom?

I know most don't seem to like this track but I enjoy it, even with a wee bevvy. The Mrs actually counted up my beers and I'd had 5 Stella and was working my way through a bottle of aperol! Still buzzing after the races though, they were top class

Well done again Joe, we'll need to get our thinking caps on to beat you.

Oh and when you have someone behind you for 20 minutes feel free to make a mistake any time ken!

Cache cleared, as always Colin, 3 times when I first went on-line, then cleared again before I joined Blue's room. I noticed when I entered that the room quality was low, and I saw a bit of lag with some other cars too.

I also like Indy; a good track with it's own unique flow.

It's that unique I can never find it. :D

Sorry I wasn't very competitive yesterday. I'd been involved in that many online races during the week and also have been playing around with the course maker until the early hours that I think I was GT6'd out!
Plus I kept getting interrupted - which is common around WWC race time I'm afraid.

I must try harder next time.

I had seen you parked up on the map Paul but couldn't spot your car on the track on the way round cos i had a certain buybon on my tail looking to take advantage of the tiniest slip I might make. I was actually running with a smile on my face–not bad for 6:30am–cos if I had made a third-of-a-second mistake you were there Colin to take advantage. You were better on the brakes and carried more speed in the corners so I feel lucky to have stayed ahead. You just needed to be closer on the last corner before the straight and you would easily have outbraked me after the long straight into T1.

Same for Race 2; if you or blue had had a faster start I would have been toast. In Race 2 the gap was always about the same but I was always expecting it to come down at some point. Then nearer the end I checked my mirrors and was surprised to see blue there in the mix too. I shouldn't have been, just thought he was a little further back, that's all. Anyway, for both races, I wasn't sure I had won until I got round the last corner on the last lap and that's what it's all about! Shame about Jocke and Paul not having the best of races.

Edit: Just watched the replay of Race 1 and that was a crackin' battle on the last lap @buybon355. Great driving Colin!

oh, and I cleaned my cache 3 times the night before, once on waking up, and again on leaving the practise room before entering the race room. I ran with Tommy-boy before the races and experienced no lag. Let's hope it's better for next week.

Aye think it is just a legacy of the 3 star room, just unfortunate tom was the victim.

Last lap in race 1 was great. Split second decision on whether or not to brake a bit later into turn 4 to force you wide, but world have been a bit dirty and that's not my style. Really loved that race from start to finish. Does this mean the pp system might actually work lol

On learning that blue was running a wagon championship I went out and bought my first one. Wasn't impressed and didn't find them exciting to drive in the slightest. However, my interest was piqued just the other day! I recently brought out the stagea in an online lobby at Spa and it kicked some serious backside with so-called fast cars. Also Midfield, around the 520pp mark I think, supercars were left in its wake. I couldn't believe it! These cars will surprise a few in online lobbies.

I've never driven the stagea before (still haven't other than a few laps of practice) but the Caldina and the legacy spec b (mostly the sedan, but sometimes the wagon and the 96 as well) have always been my go to cars for 500pp public lobbies (and sometimes 450 and 550 but they aren't quite as good). A well tuned RS200 (and probably the Imprezas now that I've driven them) is the only front engined 4WD car that can keep up with/beat them. its rare that I finish outside the top 3 with them. There's always someone in an nsx type r that's impossible to beat of course.

The RS200 is one of my favourite cars. I just had no idea these wagons ran so well against the big boys. And there's a certain pleasure in beating the big guns in a car that others think has no chance. (Pretty sure it was the Enzo el al that it walked all over lol.)

oh, and I cleaned my cache 3 times the night before,
It's hard to get the stains out. :P

The lag is probably due to the vast distances involved rather than the cache. In fact the the network cache should in theory assist, since the game hasn't got to request data over the network that's been previously stored on your hard drive. And 4 stars will increase network traffic and hence may add lag.
It's the problem of world wide gaming. I did notice that the "ping" level wasn't registering before I entered, so it must have been poor. This probably was the cause of the problems on Friday.
Not sure what the solution is through. If it continues perhaps one of us Europeans could host it for Blue, that way the room server would be more central.

I don't think that's the problem since mik always used to be able to host the Minis, when he, Logan and Wayne were often the only North Americans in a room with 12+ cars. I haven't experienced any lag this series yet either. Still going to try 4 stars.

I set the bar (pretty low I imagine, on my FAVOURITE track) for the Nurburgring Lightning Lap at 9:05.475

EDIT - MrRacingline (who I used to race in the HSV series with, and who hates street cars) proved my bar was low by running 9:02.008

It was a strange couple of races for me. I was doing low .39s in practice without much trouble, yet could only do consistent .40s in the first race - the last lap, a .41, tyre wear too much at that point.

In the second race I had a good start, found myself behind you after the first corner. One lap round, first corner again, tried to out-brake you to gain some ground - nah - grassed out. A lap or two later I ended up on the grass again after a bump from behind.

Normal race stuff, sure, but here's the odd bit, after that I struggled even more for pace, no damage done, yet the best I could then do was .41s - .42s - finished on a .43 if I remember right.

I checked my pp and BHP when the race ended; I was down to 498pp and the power down by several horses too. I have only experienced this before with higher mileage cars which an oil change sorted.

The pic? Just a lovely 650CS I thought some might enjoy. Shot at the Hamilton Classic Car Show last year.

Oh good. :)

I set my rooms up for max quality and all is very good, yet some people seem to introduce lag when they arrive. When they leave to clear their cache, and re-enter, it sometimes sorts the problem.

It happened to me too during our Classic Car Championship. Pretty sure I lost more than 2pp though

Feather dusters work a treat for cache cleaning!

Do you remember what your mileage was like on the car J?

Not a lot Tom and it happened more than once. I'm guessing, maybe 200 miles or so. And it definitely happened. First time I thought, "Oh, it must be me," but the second time I was 100% sure I was sitting at the pp limit before racing only to find at the end I was around 5pp down. I didn't do an oil change though, just changed up some power parts to make up the difference. It's happened 3 or 4 times to me.

Huh!? More anomalies from the PSN. www

and I'm pretty sure it was only my pp that changed while my bhp stayed the same. There wasn't even a linear drop off in pp, it was just suddenly down by 6pp.

Edit: I'd still love to see @Venari joining this series.

Also, re the recent lag/room settings discussion: On viewing the replays of Mt. Panorama, HSR and Indianapolis, my car always seems smooth but all other cars seem to jump around a lot. This isn't a reflection of my driving as I know other wheel users are smooth too. So I wonder what others are seeing?

That's how 3 star replays always look, just watch jocke's video of the cape ring race on YouTube. Everyone is jumpy except him.

I set a time in your Club Event blue but it doesn't look like it's registered.

for info what was your mark, Joe?

nice practice session yesterday, I think I can go under 8'50" maybe with a bit more practice and tweaks. Now, as usual with the TTs on the 'ring, can I get a full good lap without choking towards the end or chicken braking to save a good start?

Hosting quarter mile oval rooms every night this week (except Friday of course) around 22:00 BST if anyone is interested. Have been doing nascar detuned to 541pp on RH (both stock and tuned), and tonight I did Mario Andretti hudsons tuned to the max on CS (and RS on a wet track to simulate dirt) but Could use any cars really.

Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed running with you yesterday gk. Have now set 3 times, 8:54.0 being the best. Don't know why it's not registering. Had a great first half and a terrible second half. I know I left 2-3 seconds on the track due to going off and the chicken braking that you mentioned. A sub 8.50 is a mind game and I think you'll need to be at the last split (at the start of the long straight) at 8:02 (if I remember right! think I was there at 8:05) to achieve that. We're rooting for you mate!!
