Whenever I see two Honda civics lined up to race, I think about the one-wheel-burnout video and the Honda Fail video where a guy is lined up but forgets he's still in reverse gear after the burnout.

It was on its 2nd engine when I got it. I had a fuel pump fail while I was doing about 100mph, the mixture leaned out and blew a 2" square hole in the engine block.

The P1 has a known issue with the bottom ends going due to the cars not being mapped for the lower grade of fuel we use here in the UK. They came with the JDM mapping which is for 100 RON and the highest you can get here in the UK is 99 RON.

Um... sounds like you were interested in playing his game, if you stuck around long enough for all that happened and took delight in getting him spun.
So I hardly see how you can put yourself in a position of feeling he did something wrong. Some people after all, think that's okay. They particularly think it's okay if you continue to play with them playing that way. If you only left once you realized you couldn't win his dirty game... he'd be right in thinking you were just a sore loser at the dirty game.

If you don't want people to behave that way. The best thing to do is quit as soon as someone starts crap like that. Don't feed it. Payback is just another way of saying "what you're doing is okay, it's part of the game here".

Which, btw, if people choose to play that way, I think that's their business. Some people have fun doing that, & having it done to them, as part of the game.

Exactly, you aren't taking physically abuse in game so the best way to deal with it is to ignore it.

I don't go into open lobbies very often anymore, but all this hybriding has my interest piqued. Hard to find but I stumbled across a 500PP SH tires only room last night and wandered in to find it was a no tuning room. Undaunted, I found a BMW M5 that was untuned and trounced the field by 30 seconds at Grand Valley. Same story in Monaco and Madrid with an RGT and a Z respectively. We end up at High Speed Ring so I pull out...yup, the Zonda C12. As we're sitting on the grid I hear a woman say, "That Penso guy is in a racecar" and then I hear a bunch of whining from the rest of the players so, gentleman that I am, I just pulled over and let the field go by, rejoined at the back and then got caught up in a big wreck and left.

2 years in and people dont know what a Zonda C12 is? ...lol.

Either my old brain is failing me or else that is quite the extensive ninja edit.

I hosted a lobby at Special Stage Route 5 and at the point where my system froze, I was the only player not driving a hybrid...a clearly hacked Suzuki Cappucino, a chassis swapped Mazda Roadster with 24,000hp, an FR-S with an impossible amount of camber, multiple "Wheel Color Samples," cars without hoods, cars with the wrong engines, cars with no wings, and me in an FT-86 Concept II...why you idiots no drive normal cars in CRUISE lobbies?!?

Anyhoo, back on topic: Saw someone in a premium Asparadrink RX7 with what sounded like a distorted X1 engine and a messed up wheelbase rocket past me on the Nurburgring final straight. The car was so loud and so fast my game went absolutely silent due to the insane speed the guy was achieving. My friend happened to be watching on the Spectate mode, and he told me the RX7 was reaching upwards of 550mph....

...This was in a 500PP lobby.

Why does almost every living soul bash on a topic if it sounds the "same" as to one that was made a while back ago? I don't get it and in my opinion, I think that drives people away from this site. If you choose not to walk away from nonsense, and instead involve yourself in it... that's of course you're business. But you then have no right as the pot, to call the kettle black. That's my point.
You had to try & prove yourself to the dirty driver.
Then when you couldn't prove yourself to the dirty driver... you come here to try & ridicule the dirty driver.


Just a tip... thinking you need to prove yourself to random dirty drivers in pub lobbies is kind of ridiculous... and you could probably spend your time more usefully looking for a better room.
But another tip... you'll ALWAYS have trouble finding clean racing pals if you engage in dirty games with dirty drivers.
I kick people from my lobbies who do paybacks. I don't spend time trying to discern "who started it" like it's a bunch of kindergarteners. 👎
Truly clean drivers in clean rooms don't engage dirty drivers. They stop, and then they report the dirty driver. End of story.

If you're not racing in rooms where that is the standard practice, that's why you're having a lousy time of it.

Yea I hope people get banned for using them online. Seriously! I thought I joined this site because I wanted to get along with fellow racers, not losers who try to point out that a thread is the same as one that was made a million years ago. I sort of agree with this statement. I wouldn't mind PD doing this on public online servers. However, you should still be allowed to use Hybrids in Private Lounges. Hybrids, when used right, can be loads of fun to use. I sure as heck love to drift my Caterham-swapped Fiat 500 (nicknamed the Fiat 900R).
Also, the recent uprising of GT5 Stance Nation has led to epic photoshoots and cruises online.

Well not to get into a debate on this subject here. But i must say that the people you guys are talking about are ignorant and like to use cars that are pointless and unrealistic.

The people that I hang out with keep these hybrids in a realistic fashion. If someone comes into one of our lobbies with one of these pointless/unrealistic hybrids we will kick them. The realistic ones however are allowed.

The unrealistic ones that bypass the PP levels are unrealistic and are very easy to spot. I honestly think the people who unrealistically mod and use them to abuse/cheat should be banned. The realistic ones (that are not cheating because they are in a level playing field with the PP system) should stay.

As many have said maybe you are seeing the bad side.

I have seen some awesome hybrids, and then I've seen stupid ones. I once was in a lobby where 6 players were in V8-swapped Miatas and VTEC-swapped K-Cars. Great fun cruising and getting to know one another. This kind of stuff needs to stay in GT5.
Now on the other moldy germ-infested hand are the ignorant 8-year olds who run 900MPH Imprezas 'round Route X, thinking 30 second lap times should be honored. These type of modders need to be put in their place.

It's called needless filler. Only in situations where a thread has substantially died off, or is years old would a new thread discussing the exact same thing, or even a similar topic be warranted.

If contributing to an already existing topic drives people away then they never wanted to contribute anything worthwhile to begin with.

You also agreed to the AUP when you joined. It's really not asking much to utilize proper grammar and spelling. Not everyone on this forum is a native English speaker, so the clearer the messages are the better.

I forgot to mention that I got kicked out of a lobby the other day with a stock C5 Corvette. I had the sports exhaust I think (only part added)

The guy who kicked me had a C6 Corvette with that exhaust that makes it sound like he couldn't afford a V8 (aka the racing exhaust). He was claiming that i did a swap on the engine to get that sound. I told him repeatedly to put the same exhaust on the C5 and you will hear the same thing. He wouldn't do it.

I then told him that if he wants to make ignorant assumptions about what I am doing. To go into the pits I'll go straight to the tuning menu and take off the exhaust and put the stock one on (so he knows I didn't switch a car). Then set the "tuning prohibited" restriction on and he will clearly see it is a bone stock car.

Still while acting ignorant he decided to talk trash with a few of his friends (got a bad *** over here). Then a few seconds later he kicked me.

I really found this ignorance funny actually. Just another "i can't afford a V8 looking boy" that would rather have his car sound like butt and have 30 extra HP.

There are parameters in cruise lobbies are there not? I figured that cruise lobbies were specifically for road cars... everyday cars or? Are there race car cruise lobbies?
Never been in one so I don't know, but seems to me policing them should be easier for the host, as it's not like he has to quit mid-race to boot someone.

Hahahaha Yep. Always has baffled me why people would rather their cars sound like butt just for a few extra HP. If that 30 HP makes that much of a difference in just would lose the race.
