I remember when the C7 just came out I went in a room with people having a conversation, some liking it some hating it. I joined in for a bit saying "It is a good car to drive but you can't change the colour, which I find disappointing". Some went far and saying "The car sucks in general, get over it" and others went "It is the best, you're just jealous, noob". This started a flame war until the host went on a flying fit (he had a mic so it really hurt your ears but it was hilarious) then kicked anyone who criticized the C7 just a tiny bit, even this one person who only just said "I wish you could colour it".

^Yeah I've noticed that.

On topic: I don't even go to the Ring anymore. There's always ONE racer who has an @!$%&# overpowered NSX or slams everyone into the grass to make friends with Mr. Wall. And when it is clean, it's pitch black and 100% rain so, again, everybody is out of control. Including me...

OK, I am good at the Ring (gold licenses in GT4 etc.) but NOT good enough to drive race at it when there's a storm going on at midnight.

Another time I was hosting a free roam lobby, there were these 2 guys who hated each other and were trying to K.O the other. I kicked them both out but one went mad and started sending me death-threats non-stop.

I joined a GT500 room on Tokyo R246, mostly everyone was portuguese, I figured it was going to be a clean room with a half way decent host, I got out my XANAVI NISMO Z ’06 and then the race started, everyone went flying into each but me on the first corner, everyone exited the track, I equipped my XANAVI NISMO Z ’06 with racing hards because it was a 12 lap race with fuel and tire wear on very high, I rejoined the track, about right at the 3rd corner, host said suv soft tires, I was going to switch to racing softs but a second later the host kicked me for not using racing soft's. :grumpy:

I had that in a NASCAR lobby, where you had to start on softs. I didn't know, so I went out on hards, and got told. So I exited the track, equipped softs, and went on track. He said 'START ON SOFTS OR KICK', so I replied 'I am on softs'. So I get kicked. I asked him why he kicked me when I had the right tyres on, and he just replied 'didn't see. oh well'. YOU JUST KICKED ME FOR NO REASON:/

all of these things about people bumping others off the track were kind of like it was like gokarting for me yesterday. so im about to pass these girls that go as wide as they can after every turn (and these go karts were slow, like 20mph) and so when i try to pass on the inside after the turn i get cut off into a wall. But to answer the ops question, i literally raced online like 5 times in my life, and in each of those times theres someone knocking you off the track. Nothing new i know, but still, its annoying. I shouldn't be talking but at least when I do it its an accident :)

I discovered that the Taurus SHO makes a great anti-X1 Vehicle. It's pretty much a 1700kg barrier, 1100 of which being powered by the front wheels.

The Audi RS6 Avant '08 is the best. AWD, 900+ HP fully tuned and it will always win in a tug-of-war scenario with an X1. Basically if you two are nose to nose and are trying to push each other away, the RS6 is guaranteed to win since the X1 is very light and has very bad initial torque.

Well I joined a random lobby and I was just drifting around hitting all of the right lines doing better then usual when I get attacked by a X1. I then "Politely" ask him why he did it. No reply, so then I do about two more laps and get rammed again. So I went on with my drifting and I got hit a 3rd time. This time around I ask the host to kick him. My luck the host was not there, so I left the room showing no signs that he was bothering me. I find it funny how some people can be. There are many other rooms on gt5, if I do not like the room I am in or someone is bugging me I move on. If you feed the fire, the fire will get bigger.

Being pushed around by a Taurus is more embarrassing.

I used my Nissan GTR AMS Alpha Omega replica once to harass an annoying kid X1  I put 200kg ballast on my 1725kg car with 1800AWHP, it was hilarious

Amen to that, brother.

I hear yah about X1. I was in a X1 race. Everyone else was in X2011 while I was in my yellow non-vettel X2010. At the race, I was being very clean and got good control on it but everyone else was driving like 🤬. You could see X2011 flying everywhere. I won by a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGEEEEE mile (only one other person finished) then I left due to the driving :yuck:.

Right. Just happened to get out of a lobby.

Someone decided to tell me that I wasn't thinking by typing to talk while I have a mic plugged in. Since I don't ever really unplug my Eye, I can only assume he heard the background noise (of which there is very little). So after that I muted him and unplugged the mic. I don't care for people who are going to immediately assume my intelligence level based upon how I do things.

On the other hand, it makes that person look like a total jerk and get a one way ticket to the block list.

Some people...

Just an observation. lol

Just an observation. lol

The observation was that I had a mic plugged in, but was typing. That's fine.

The thing that's not fine is him assuming that I'm unintelligent for not wishing to use the microphone. He also decided to use that as a reason for distrust of my on-track conduct before I'd even raced him.

Instead of showing my discontent vocally, in typing, or in bad racecraft, I just raced to get podiums cleanly, which I got.

Well what did he say exactly? Just curious.

Something along the lines of "You must be one of them people who doesn't think when it counts." I really wanted to comment back and say "Because thinking very hard in a video game matters very much when I'm taking a short break from college homework." Not to mention it seemed like he was trying to talk down to me.

I play GT5 to relax, not to be insulted by random people on the internet. So I just blocked and muted him so I never have to hear him again. Problem solved!

Half the people in the room have raced against me and know that I'm clean, fair, and know how to make good, sound decisions both on and off the track.

Now then. I'll try my luck again tonight. I mainly use this thread to vent bad experiences, despite much of them actually being good. :)

Apparently that guy doesn't think when he should be either

Somehow I never really found an X1 driver annoying enough to make me break out a special car, however, I did have a Dodge Ram waiting. Even with the weight reduction it weighs about 4400lbs by my quick mental math. Add a Hemi V8 with lots of low-end torque because pickup truck and it should have worked pretty well.

Does anyone else get annoyed when a room title says "x PP Street Cars" and the people in the room are using race cars? It's infuriating. :(

Can anyone explain all these "KSA" and "DrrrB" rooms at Dunsfold TopGear Test Track? The majority of them are designated as Drift lobbies yet they're full of people in their jacked-up pickups tank-slapping down the runway.

Slightly unrelated, but everytime I used to play GTA IV multiplayer in a session that wasn't ruined by hackers, I would always see a player with "KSA" in their names. I always tried to PM them and ask what "KSA" meant, but they never answered. Anti-social clanboys.

I think someone said they are a big hacking group.

 Upon Googling, "KSA" is Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
