people don't make good rooms anymore. even if someone makes a decent room, hardly anyone joins. this is what i see in gt5 just a few hours ago:

That's why private lounges are best & why they are what I use for our group exclusively, I haven't had to deal with an online idiot in so long & it's heaven. Highly recommend you get some like minded guys in a group & start using lounges, trust me you won't want to go back to those awful public rooms :)

I hate people like you. What is so hard about allowing driving aids? Let people use what ever driving aids they want, and if they drive dirty kick them. If you want to practice without it, you don't have the right to disallow people of their racing preference. Also, if people want GT5 to be a simulator, allow ABS and traction control, real life cars have those.

Wow you sound like such an idiot. "you don't have the right" well he made the room didn't he? The majority of the rooms allow all aids so I personally owe gratitude to everyone hosting no aids rooms especially no ABS rooms.

The only online rooms I enter are for "dirty" racing shuffle. It's a great stress relief and most folks in these rooms are friendly.
I like the shuffle races because I have a hell of time driving high pp cars with the hand controller

Whenever I host rooms, I always allow Traction Control and ABS, and occasionally ASM. I refuse to use or allow SRF.. So letting people use what they want isn't the solution, finding another room that caters to their needs is. To each their own though.

Unacceptable. Learn to be civil in expressing your opinion or you'll find your PM's filling up with message's you really don't want to be receiving.

Funny how a guy in a fully modded race tired murcielago SV couldnt touch my stock ZR1 (with sport softs) around laguna seca, he kept crashing behind me at each corner and couldnt pass me.. The one time he did was when he screwed the corkscrew (pun intended) and hit the outside wall at the bottom.

I was in an LMP room at Le Mans, ( and this happens quite a bit) I was the fastest one, and me and 2 other guys out of 7 drivers were actually racing while the others were cutting the corners and chicanes. Slipstream was on strong btw, and we were running La Sarthe 2009 with no chicanes. Full Mulsanne. SoI would draft one guy done and put him in the wall. The. I got tired and left.

^ Thats why i hate Le Mans rooms these days.:indiff:

"you don't have the right to disallow people of their racing preference"

Sorry, but everyone has the right to do whatever they want to their own rooms! If a host thinks that a race is unfair because players (for example) are using traction control or ABS, then they should be 100% free to change those rules. After all it is their room, right?

I'm usually racing X1's so don't encounter stuff as bad as I'm reading about here. Usually the worst is people who argue with the room owner about using an X1 in a room which states that that was the only car allowed. Or people who claim that they're "brilliant", probably because they completed the Vettel challenge. I, like most people, don't mind racing anyone, as long as they're polite and clean, regardless of skill.

I've been reading further and I've noticed how everyone gets annoyed by people in X1's. After my last comment this may be a bit of a surprise, but I agree. I don't ALWAYS race them, and when you're trying to race in normal cars it's ridiculous when people use this overpowered beast. My first encounter with one was when I joined a lobby on Trial Mountain. Myself and someone else were trading lap times in street cars and we were gradually escalating cars. We got up to touring car sort of level when some guy decided to join the fun with an X2010. The guy was clearly trying to be the fastest in the room, which got to me as he was dreadful. I'm not a great driver and got pretty close to his lap in a Formula GT which I still can't drive even now. Eventually I got bored and left. Why do people have to spoil the enjoyment of others?

Sorry if this was a little rambling, as I'm pretty tired right now.

I raced at the Nur Yesterday, was a 3 ~ 7 car race, and I took the new DLC Aston Martin Vantage V12 for a spin, down tuned to 505pp (engine limited to approx 92%), with racing softs, I didn't think I'd be competitive at all, there was a M3 CSL and an M5 in front of me.

To my pleasant surprise, and cool calm and collected effort, I won the race, (7:07s) but the two BMW's were honking their horns behind me the ENTIRE time, and I saved the replay, if only I was quick enough to get this to youtube, sadly, I don't have time to do this (yet) but it was one of the best race I ever endured, (to survive the cause), they had a silly time trying to knock me off the track, I held my own, it was soo rewarding.

Nothing satisfies driving a car 1,500kg+ and having lighter cars trying to bump you off.
I do the same with an Audi RS6, @ 1,840kg stock weight, this car grips the rough surfaces more than cars half it's weight. and it has the Brute Torque and HP to get you to the finish in good sporting style.

Some dirvers, or should I say, several online drivers DESPISE you being in the lead, at ANY time, on the Nordschleife. They will find MANY reasons to kick you for NO apparent valid Reason.

But it's races like this, that makes me come back for more.

Suck it down, and drive like a man, people. Can't win em all!

Online races on the Nordschleife;

Start a race with 14 people attending, and finish with 4 people left because.

They cut a corner, but can't correct their car back on the road properly, spin out and then just quit.

Love it when this happens, cant tell you how many idiots ive avoided just this week who blow it in a corner and then just quit.. Isnt it the greatest when the guy behind you cutting corners cant touch you for his life when youre driving normally on the track?

Another reason i rather race with friends. Random lobbies that i join i end up getting get for one person asking what am i eating, i say "I'm eating Chef Boy ar Dee." Then the host kicks me because he hates Chef Boy ar Dee.:indiff:

I was in a Route X X2011 race. I was nearing the finish line in first when a guy catches up behind me. Turns out, he's squishing people into the wall to gain position. I just noticed this in the replay though. Then the guy drafts me and rams me into the wall to gain the lead position. After the race, he said "LOL rubbins racing dude u r garbage 6th lololol"

I was in a drifting server last weekend and let's just say....there were barely any drifters. Ended up with two (possibly kids) people who only seem to know swears and racial slurs as their vocabulary... Typing in all caps about how the United States "rules." (when one of them was from Canada...) Driving Dodge Rams going the wrong way on the track (enjoyed some of their failed attempts to ram me while drifting) and commenting on how the actual drifters drove ricers. Along with that, commenting on my Skyline 370GT's purple wheels as "gay" and pink. Ignored their idiocy until they left the servers.

Private lounges -idiots -kids -randoms +friends +good times = Epic Win 👍

Said it before & I'll say it again; lounges are the way to go folks! No idiots & only good times, you can't go wrong :)

Thread-digging to ask, why does it have purple wheels anyway?

Last night I was in a room on Special Stage Route X that stated they took ALL cars, but no X2010/2011. Cool, I thought. I joined, time to test out my newly tuned cars. As I get in the room with 14 people, 10 of them have Veyrons. The other 3 weren't on the track. I went and got my Zonda R and participated in a race. I won. I was then harassed in the lobby chat, proceeded to be kicked out of the room, got 2 threatening messages about how I was a "dirty rotten ******* hacker" and that I was reported.

Some people just can't lose.

I think I've been really lucky since I rarely see blatant idiots in rooms but a couple weeks ago one joined our room.

We had an 480pp sports hard race on Nordscleife at night (which is quite a low level for sports hard, we usually use comfort softs but I wanted to drive my stratos which isn't very competitive with comforts) and some belgian took an Elise. I though it's going to be tough racing against that Elise but it wasn't as the guy spun in the very first corner.

I took the lead and ran first all race until we got to the straight. At this point I had completely forgotten about the Elise guy but to my surprise there was a bright light shining at the end of the straight!

He started accelerating and was trying to hit me head on but luckily it was dark so I swerved from side to side and managed to miss him. Others weren't so lucky though.

Later I watched the replay and saw that immediately after he spun out he turned around and drove to the end of the straight and sat there a good 8 minutes blaring his horn constantly.. I mean, who the hell does that?

Yeah, i'm honestly surprised by how good of a car the vantage is. Takes corners with little to no complaint at all.

I had a SSRX room up called "Dirty NASCAR" somebody joined and asked "Dirty NASCAR, right?" I said yes and then we had a 5 lap duel style race, but after 3 laps of me racing dirty (Which was clearly in the room title) he ragequit.

I hate it when im driving around daytona and some 🤬 pulls out from the infield without checking for cars and cuts me off, happened to my tuned C6 Z06 just last week.. I ended up rear ending an accelerating minolta (probably doing highway speed) at 210+ coming out of turn two, because of the closing speed and spot in the corner there was nothing i could do to slow or swerve the vette, resulting in the poor corvette glancing off its rear, spinning and crashing in the grass
