Just finished the 24hr of Nurburgring and was awarded a nice F1 :). After that, I promptly entered the Formula Gt this morning and won the first race by 3 laps. The AI was really o challenge whatsoever.

All ready for the Mar 10th instore release...

Yesterday, a friend and I built the cockpit for the DFP...

HELP! I need help with the Mission Hall, Race 6 (I think) where you race a miata round a slight left, then a 180 right. I CANNOT beat this!! I try, get a perfect line, but he seems to have more acceleration than me. PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVISE!!

Just reserved my copy of GT4. I'll pick it up in 45 hours.
I'll try to improve some GT4 Prologue licences meanwhile.

You go around the turn, then you tap the brakes for the right, continue. When you get to the 180 turn you brake later then him. Then, you use him to help you do the turn.

B-spec or A -spec?

i am on that right now. any tips?

You need to pass the first car in or right after the carousel.

Also, one of the turns can be cut the one after the second high-speed section and before the part you need to slow down two third and then 2nd for the next corner.

You have to steer right on the grass.

After that, I only caught the last guy in the last turn.

I just GT4 :) even though its only Tuesday, the guy behind the counter decided to give it to me. I guess he didn't like watching a grown man cry and just wanted me out of the shop ASAP :)

Slow-ish progress here due to lack of playing time & getting used to the wheel!
Getting to like it though. 👍
Now got all gold a licence and 3 more cars in the garage, a Pontiac Sunfire GXP Concept '02, a very cool looking 4WD Acura DN-X '02 concept car with 397HP and a monstrous Nissan Gran Turismo Skyline GT-R '01 with 541HP! Shouldn't have too much trouble completing a few races with what's in the garage so far!

Will do mate 👍 I had a quick go earlier and need three more golds to finish the first licences. Can't remember what that section is called soz. It's going to take a bit of getting used to because I've always been a bit of a late braker and it appears not to like that too much

I will be back on it later. Footie is on the telly and there is no way I would miss that, not even for GT4 ;)

I also bought GT4 yesterday and played a few hours, doing as many licences as I could (1 to 3 attempts per licence) and I'm at 4 gold, 9 silver and 54 bronze.
I also did some missions.
Best experience so far : licence IA-16 at 377 km/h
Second best experience : licence IA-15 on the Nürburgring.
👍

flat-out

Nurburging SUCKS! But I can't wait to race on it! Intense!!! My best on that test was three secs over the silver time! Gotta work on it!! The last turn on the IA-16 was tricky! Crazy HP on that test!

I've never driven any car at 377 km/h for real, but the speed sensation seems much more realistic on that licence than what GT3 could do (let's say a lap at Test Course in a F-094).
The wind, the uneven surface, etc. That makes it a great experience.
However I'm not sure a 20 laps race at that speed would be so great

Hey all,
I'm using the school PC again and can't say when my pc troubles will end.

However, I thought I would drop in and let you all know about my progress...

Lots of cars are owned now. :D
Most of the touring cars and even the BMW LMP V12. 👍
All races are beat in all of the country based events.
Same goes for everything in beginner and pro (except for the gt world champ in pro which I am ruling now that I have the LMP V12).

So basically Im doing well.
37.5% or so. :D

About 60 cars. 👍

Till next time. :sly:

Prize cars don't seem to be random... and some are really crap or stupid.
As it happened in GT3, you need to buy a certain type of car (eg. Ford pick-up) to race in the corresponding events, then you win... the same type of car (eg. Chevy pick-up). That would have been nice to win that car somewhere else so that you don't need to buy the first one that you'll never use again.
I drove my prize pick-up for the FR series : racing BMW M3, Nissan 300ZX, etc in a 495hp Chevy firemen truck, sorry, pick-up.
And then the prize car was a old japanese thing that has no chance to ever get out of my garage.
Sometimes this game is strange. Not to mention the Nike (btw, nikê means 'victory' in greek, and it sounds as the french for '****ed').
...
Still looking for the real Mini.
I hope Enthusia has it if it's not in GT4.

there should be some minis for you flat out :).

Im going quite well, should have all gold in IA by monday, then off to S :scared:.

Ive had spent a bit of time on the ring also in arcade mode testing out various cars, had a nice 8:01.xxx in a stock arcade M3 with soft sport tyres.

EDIT!!
well ive golded all uptil IA - 14 (62 Gold). Im about to attempt what would be my first clean lap of the nurb, Pace car lap of the ring in a merc IA - 15. Wish me luck :scared:

EDIT!! 2
THE GUY IS TOO SLOW, i keep hitting him, im drafting him and hitting his bumper at most straights. cant get much past T2 as he slows down too much :grumpy:

IA-15 is rather easy to bronze (lap under 10 mins) if you drive carefully and release the gas in the fast curves. Golding it is another thing, but I'm not that far.

yay, my 1st clean lap and i got a 8:53.098 (9:00.000 for gold) w00t. I drove quite conservative for the last 3rd of the lap as i just wanted to get 1 lap down to see how much i need to push, if the pace car wanst there you could go so much faster, I had to back off in straights to see where i was going as sitting behind him blocks my view and plus he hits the brakes and I hit the back of him. So i have to keep certain distance in order to miss him when he brakes too early for most corners. Even though icould smash the time i just got, i dont think i will, maybe after i have 80 gold.

Help, IA - 16 is a badarse mofo, im not sure if i can do this one. hhmm, maybe have to try tommorow (1:08am atm) after some sleep. definetly not one for the tired especially with DS2.

Any tips, sphinx, Mr P (i can see you :P)

You've not asked me. I hope you don't mind.
Wheel spin, exiting any of the turns, will kill you.
Fight the urge to punch the gas. Roll her on (very) slowly until the car is straight and flat.
Other than that, it's pretty straight-forward.
The demo doesn't make a particularly good start, so there's a bit of padding.

Good luck. 👍

Thanks a lot ODP, the reason why i didnt ask you was not beacue I dont want your advice :P, Mr P and Sphinx were browsing this forum at time of post, and i know both of them could get 80 golds.

Well i will give IA - 16 a go today, last night i wasnt at my best considering it was 1am in the morning. I think my main problem is braking points, so like CFM said in another thread i will watch the demo to get them figured out. If i cant poses the throttle control needed i might wait for when i get my DFP, but im sure im quite talented with the X button so it should suffice.

within 10min i had it, i thought id do about 5 runs and then if i still couldnt get anywhere near id consult the demo, 4th or 5th run i got gold. 1:43.148 (gold is 1:43.400). never shift to 2nd, 3rd is the lowest you go.

HELP!!!! i just started doing driving missions and finished 1-10 and a few others after 10, but 11 seems to be a bit tough for me. Can anyone give me any tips? For the short minded its the toyota gt-2000 mission at new york.
please help a poor man....... :D

The car has crappy brakes.
I had good results using early braking and a bit of coasting.

On the opening straightaway, from the right, brake at the end (laps 2 and 3 brake at the beginning) of the crosshatched striping, down to 2nd (50mph) and coast/turn into the left hander until the car is pointed at the apex and accelerate to the right hander, brake to 45mph, then even throttle ½way around the carousel and accelerate out. Make your way to the left side and brake at the last shadow (on the right), down to 2nd, turning in (45-50mph) and coast until the car points to the apex (38-40mph), accelerate, turn left, quick lift, accelerate, turn right, quick lift, accelerate around both right handers and down the next street, braking at the end of the guardrail (or a bit past) on the right, down to 2nd 48-50mph, turn left and full throttle over the sidewalk. Over to the left and brake at the 2nd crosswalk (maybe a little past) to 50mph, turn right, coast to 45mph and accelerate over the apex and down the street. Move to the right, brake at the beginning of the rumbles (maybe a car length before) while turning left, down to 2nd around 45mph, full throttle over the curb and you should be on the bumper of 5th place. Down the back straight, up to (110-112mph), after the kink, in the last shadow, start braking just past the 2nd set of stripes, down to 2nd, turn right while braking around 60mph until 33-35mph, then accelerate around and down the main straight.

Or something like that.
Managed a 6:43.4
