yeah most arnt too hard Smallhorses, especially if you know the track.

let me know how you go at S - 12 (JGTC 350Z @ suzuka)

It took longer than I hoped but I now have 80 golds 👍

I'm slighty annoyed with myself because it took me so long when I saw that others were breezing it, but 80 golds are 80 golds regardless of how long it took.

Congrats mate 👍.

Which ones gave you trouble?

Now you just have to do the 34 Driving Missions :D. Which arnt very hard compared to golding S license

S-16 gave me the most trouble but I believe the main problem was me trying too hard when knowing that by getting this gold would be the full set. In hindsight I should of done S-16 earlier on and made myself an easier run in.

I haven't started the missions as yet, I hear the first ones are easy and the later ones are there to bite you on the arse :)

Too bad there on S-16, by the time i ran S-16 i knew the ring well so i golded it 2nd clean run.

yeah, I found that as long as you drive smooth and consistent the driving missions are easy, i did them all in 2 days. You dont have to be driving at gold pace to make them.

Just get used to the car and track and run consistent, youd be able to beat them for sure. Driving mission 34 isnt very hard for us PAL guys (apparently NTSC cars go faster so they have to go faster to chase them down) i had a half decent run and i won by 9 seconds. If you know the track well and are familar with your car its easy pickins.

Is there a difference between the PAL and NTSC times on S-12?

S1 took me the longest, El Capitan and Nurburgring also took a while.

Finally, after a brief hiatus, I golded the IA licenses. Time to move on to S. I'm expecting it to be pretty hard judging from what you guys have been saying.

Does the test car go faster or do the AI go slower?
On the NTSC test, the 300SL is doing mid 13.

I'm pretty sure the AI goes faster. I ran a 9:17, and it was the first time I ever even managed to finish second.:scared: I was still over 4 seconds behind the leader. I hear a 9:17 is right around the winning time for PAL. The leader in the attempts I have managed to run has had times from between 9:12.8 to 9:13.3.

This one is a nice challenge, but it pisses me off to no end to have to sit there for 2 minutes just because I made a mistake. Why can't they set start it with the other cars already spaced out on the track? Like I wanna sit there and watch them drive off. On the other one-lap magics it didn't matter because they were easy to the point of being nearly pathetic.👎

S-12 is the same on both PAL and NTSC. 1:55.919. A nice challenge, but not impossible by any means.

Just wanted to let you all know that I am getting my internet connection fixed with in the next 3 days.

yep 9:17.xxx - 9:18.xxx is what the PAL guy runs, But i recently done it and got a 9:08.xxx so its not that hard even for the faster AI NTSC guys.

I'm just now coming to grips with the big Merc, I was running in the high 1'20s for a while. The gears are throwing me off a bit because you're going 100 already when you shift into 3rd. It seems like you're driving slower then you actually are so I kept missing my braking points.:ouch: I'm probably going to try again tonight if I don't fall asleep waiting for 2 minutes in between runs.:grumpy:

Hey all, I am finally back on line with my own PC!!!

Sorry about all the trouble.

Not had too much time to make any progress this week, and I'm off back to England on vacation tomorrow.
Have golded everything up to S-12 so far, and I just got started on that one tonight, can see it'll be a challenge though.
S-licence coffee break was the easiest of all the coffee breaks to gold! Finished in 1'22 something, 11s under gold time!

Thoughts..... S-3, Saleen S7 :yuck: Looks like a Lambo, goes like a Ferrari, handles like a John Deere!
S-9 Viper at El Capitan. Wow! Took me longer than all the previous S-licence tests combined to gold that one!
S-10 Love the sound the Starion Rally car makes at around 2000rpm!!!

See you all in the WRS again when I get back. Have fun! 👍

P.S. Welcome back Kent!!!!

Nice to have you back on-line Kent.
👍
(and not only because of Week 105 results) ;)
Your PC breakdown happened at the best moment : it gave everybody time to discover GT4, and solved the question of when to switch from GT3 o GT4.

Well, I spent the last 3 days doing the Formula Championship, and I was one point ahead going into the last race, and my damn b-spec driver crashed, putting me 5000 feet behind, and I simply couldn't get back in the lead, and all of that time was wasted :(

Hey guys, guess what i finally have my DFP and cockpit built, dad is driving it as i type this.

Pics can be found Here! Can take more pics if anyone is interested. Due to our limited amount of tools (renting a house while we build our new one, hence the wood :) ) Its not finished off with smooth edges and such, but its very nice and rigid and gets the job done very well. We had no plans to go off just had a good picture in our heads of what is needed.

With a bit of luck i will be up to my DS2 speed within a week or so, and then above it! :).

Nice one mate 👍 It's amazing what you can do with a bit of pine these days :)

I'm still undecided about getting a DFP. It's not so much about the cost, but more to do with what the wife would say, or the kill on sight knowing look I would get if I were to walk in the door with one under my arm. It would be something like this but much worse =

just say its the male equivilant of getting nails done and a expensive hair cut/treatment. Your wheel is probably cheaper than that as well 👍.

Try to put it into her words, so she understands it 👍. D/W mum hasnt come home and found out that we have it finished yet . Hopefully she wont be too mad. lol

I have the same as you except for the Power Assist, which I have on. Makes it easier to navigate tight hairpins quickly. Besides, virtually every car today has power steering. Congrats on the purchase, have fun.👍

I'll post my stats for fun...

I just sat down for a nice cuppa and a quick read in the local newspaper (The New Forest Post) lol, and came across this promotion:

"Take the GT4 Challenge at the Grid..."

Part of the GT4 Launch Weekend

Fastest lap over the GT4 Challenge Weekend Wins a Silver PS2

26-27-28 March 2005 @ Beaulieu National Motor Museum

http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/

This is the first I've heard of this event and I only live a few miles from there. I went to their Web site and there is not a mention of this event anywhere and I gave up after 15 mins on hold when trying to phone them. It looks like I will have to pop down there and see for myself what is going on, I'll let you know how things go.

with a bit of luck you can have yourself a silver ps2. And unless Mr P, Hugo Boss, Tannis show up you should win :), otherwise you will have a fight on your hands

True, but I don't think they would want to travel all the way to the south coast of England.

I'm trying to find out what course/car they are using for the challenge, so I can get some practice in before I go. :)
