Well, i think i am becoming an official member of the series now that i have submitted my WRS qualy run, i'll just have to wait and see in which division goddess fortune has put me in, and i'm looking forward to score my first (:P) points in the actual race.... pretty optimistic, isn't it????, well, no matter how i did, i'm looking for challenge and i'm sure i'll find it (i drive with a DS2.......no DFP here folks), so, good night and cheers from Colombia ;)

3 new registrations again : SuperT and Juanma78 in div 2 ; Teh_Loserer in div 3.
Funny thing is they all have similar times : less than 0.2 between them.

Welcome to the WRS guys, and good luck with the wet track.

Wow, less than two tenths? That's nuts! Anyway, thanks for the welcome, and I look forward to healthy competition from all. 👍

I would like to put myself to the test if that is okay.

I still have not got the jist of what and when I need to do things so if someone could explain it to me it would be much obliged :)

Many thanks,
Dave

Hi, and welcome.

Before you're eligible to race in the Weekly Race Series, you need to qualify. You do that by running the qualifiing race, and then submitting your time by PM to Flat-out. Here is a link to the qualifier:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=75682

Once you've submitted your time, you'll be placed into an appropriate division so that you compete with people of a similar skill level. Division 1, 2 or 3.

Once you qualifier time is in, you're ready to start racing in a WRS Round, like this one:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=79887

Again, you submit your for this race to Flat-out by PM before the deadline.

All the instructions for both these events are provided in the threads I've posted. So, happy racing.

I think that's enough to get you started, but if you've any questions just ask and I or someone else will likely be more than happy to help. :)

OK no worries I've done a few laps through excitement of getting started but I am waiting on my maxdrive being delivered, I just ordered it from play.com.

Should be towards the end of the week before I really get started.

Cheers lads.

Hey buddy, good to see you giving it a try 👍

Just a note though, that you don't *have* to have a MAXDRIVE before you start racing, it's only used to verify your laps if you place in the top 3-5 of each division usually. Good luck racing though, feel free to ask questions in any of the threads here, everyone's helpful here :)

Cheers Mister,

Yes I have one question.

You said I dont need to have maxdrive unless I am in top 3-5 of each division, but how do I prove my time on qualifying and each weekly race?

PS - I went and bought one today so I am ready to go, just finishing my soup and I'm raring to go

You don't need to prove your time for the Qualifier. What would be the point of submitting a time you can't achieve ? One would only be placed in the wrong division and end up racing against much faster racers. Pretty pitiful if you ask me.
And for the weekly, you will only be requested to post a replay if you are among the 3-5 fastest in your div. Yet, it is always appreciated to have racers posting their replays while not requested to do so.

No problem, understood and I agree about lying about your lap times, it makes no sense I just wanted clarification, I hope I didnt sense some patronisising comments in there though :)

One more question. Do I just offer my one best lap time or do I need to offer more?

My driving skills are definitely not good enough for that. I'm mid-div 2 when I have time to race, top-div 2 on Apricot Hill reverse and crap the rest of the time :D

Sorry I have another question, it is just this is a new part of the game I have never utilised before.

At the moment I am doing the qualifying race, and I've done a few decent laps but when I go to save the ghost replay it only gives me the option of save the fastest lap, is that right? Would I only ever be requested to submit a replay of my fastest lap anyway?

You have a first option to 'save replay' which would save the whole session ; and a second option to 'save ghost' which would indeed only save the fastest lap.
For hotlaps (most of the races), you need to submit your fastest clean lap, so you have to use the 'save ghost' function. For multilappers (like week 54), you can only save the whole replay.

And is there any way at all in finding out all your laps in one session because I done about 5 laps there and I know my second last lap wasnt clean so I need to know the times I done elsewhere :indiff:

There is only one way :
- view the replay
- press L3 for triple speed
- note down lap times

What I'm doing usually is that I'm running sessions of 10 or 20 laps and then I save the fastest lap for each session. Then I check that my saved laps are clean and I submit the fastest of them.

Laurence5905 is promoted to div2 due to his 4 consecutive wins... (that is, if his replay turns out to be clean of course).
Congrats mate 👍

Hi Flatout,

Am I right in saying you cannot view ghost replays when they are saved?

I go to the option of loading a ghost replay but it doesnt do anything, it just goes back to the pre race menu.

No. You can view them through the Replay Theatre.

Just select them and play like a normal replay, and you get a one lap replay with a solid car and everything. :)

Just call me the question man chris :)

Where do I get my T1, T2 times from on the reply?

You have to press 'square' twice. So it goes into somemode which name I forgot. Anyway, you should see the speedo, map, times, etc.

When you come across a T-Time it will come up for about 5/10 seconds and you just have to write them down. That's what I do anyway.

Thanks!! Gonna be difficult competing with all the awesome racers in Div. 2 though. But I'll enjoy the challenge, I think. :sly:
Awesome job man! good to have you in D2 👍

Come on flat_out I'm dying to know how I done even although I have a rough idea 💡
I think he'll have it included in the results thread for this week's race(provided you're participating in it and will be submitting a time to him). 👍
