Nope, you can't post a replay or mention the laptime for the Qualifier since it's a race with no deadline.
But don't worry, you can post your replay for each weekly race you take part in. And download other people's replays, so as to learn where you can improve.

You will be SHOCKED to see how good the Div. 1 racers are!!! The top-3 in Div. 1 are so far beyond human, it's just crazy to watch them. We (half-jokingly) call them aliens.

When I first started here, I thought I was a pretty darn good driver. (I could beat all my friends, at least.) Then I got to know the folks here. There are some who are just so far beyond my abilities that I'm in awe watching their replays... And, I've learned from them! I started in Div. 3, but moved to Div. 2 after 8 or 9 weeks (can't remember how long it took, offhand.) But if you download all the replays you can watch (have to be careful of the PAL vs. NTSC thing) you'll definitely get better, and quickly!

Welcome, all, to the WRS! You'll enjoy it!

Actually I have no info that you were promoted. You appear in div 2 in my spreadsheet and in the results history there.

When were you promoted ?

So, how do I get signed up to compete then? - this looks like a lot of fun.

Sorry - I should introduce myself too as I'm new and this is my first post anywhere on these fantastic forum's I've been hanging around the last few weeks... Only found these race one's today. Like it!! :)

You're close, look for the GT4 WRS Qualifier Race, maybe someone can put the link in a reply for you, I'm still new here myself, not sure how to do that yet?

If you can find that it should give you all the info you need. Been racing for the last four weeks and yes, it is alot of fun. 👍

Welcome and enjoy. :)

Hi, and welcome.

Before you're eligible to race in the Weekly Race Series, you need to qualify. You do that by running the qualifiing race, and then submitting your time by PM to Flat-out. Here is a link to the qualifier:

WRS Qualifier

Once you've submitted your time, you'll be placed into an appropriate division so that you compete with people of a similar skill level. Division 1, 2 or 3.

Once you qualifier time is in, you're ready to start racing in a WRS Round, like this one:

Pagan Thunder

Again, you submit your for this race to Flat-out by PM before the deadline.

All the instructions for both these events are provided in the threads I've posted. So, happy racing.

I think that's enough to get you started, but if you've any questions just ask and I or someone else will likely be more than happy to help. :)

There are two ways to put a link in your post. The first is fairly simple - if you just post a URL it will automatically be converted to a link, but you will end up with links that look like the above: http://www.whatever......

If you want to turn text into a link, it's a little more complicated but still easy.

1. Write out the text you want. ie: Link Here
2. Highlight that text and then click the little image in the toolbar that looks like a Earth with a chainlink in the bottom right - the Insert Link button.
3. In the input box that pops up, paste the URL of the link.
4. Hit OK and your text (Link Here) will now be a link to the URL you entered in the input box.

I hope that helps. :)

 ferrari_chris.

Yep, it helped alot, I'm still new to using compooders, this forum stuff can get very complex for a :dunce: like me. 👍

Cyril, judging by the amount of posts asking what to do, maybe you can edit into the first post what to do? I assume people actually read the first post, but maybe not!

Good idea.
I added a link to the Qualifier thread and another link to the FAQ thread.
Hopefully that'll answer 95% of questions.

Sorry for the questions, guys.

I've started doing some practice laps and I have a nice tidy one laid down. I'll spend some time trying to better it when the Cup Final's finished.

One question - where do I get the split times from? Am I being stupid? I tried a search but couldn't find the answer. Sorry...
I had a look in the data logger, that I've never used before, but couldn't see it there...?

I guess that's part of the remaining 5% :D
The T-times are the times shown in the middle of the screen while you race, or when you watch the replay. Red if you're slower than the ghost lap, blue otherwise.

To add to that, when watching the replay you need to push SQUARE twice to change the replay mode to 'Display'.

That'll bring all the data that you see during a race, up on the screen.

:)

Haven't had a reply yet but I didn't send the .max file - is it possible to attach the file to the PM or do I have to upload it to webspace and hyperlink to it?

Sorry, can't help you with the reply I've not done it myself yet but there's plenty of people here that should be able to help you with that. I don't think you need it for the qualifier anyway.

I was told it usually takes three or four days for registration, it only took three days for me to show up on the timesheets and the whole site went down for more than 24 hours whilst my registration was going through!

Get racing anyway, you might not make it onto the official timesheet for this week but you'll at least get a feel for how it all works for now.

Welcome and have fun. 👍

Yeah, I've been busy with RL things recently, and it'll keep going for at least a few weeks. Just run week 56 and submit your time normally, I'll place you in a division tomorrow. And there's no need to post a replay for the Qualifier.

Thanks Flat-out...

I don't know if I'll have the time to get in for week 56 as I'm working late today. If I can't fit it in I'll have a go at week 57.
Look forward to the division list update so I can see where I am... :)

6 new drivers joined this week :
WykidOne, Radicool02 and Midnight Runner in div 2,
oops_1234, darkblueturbo and omelettes in div 3.

Welcome to the WRS guys !

And we're now more than 450 registered drivers.

Thanks. ;)
It took me a while to be bothered with registering, but I think it will be well worth it. Hopefully the WRS can help make me a faster driver.
