Hmm... [IDIOT]I thought changing cars is illegal[/IDIOT]

[FILM-CRITIC]Great clip. Changing of cars was quick and smooth. A backfire even occures at the same time it should've happened on the previous car[/FILM-CRITIC]

Nice one, Jerry.

ROFL
The Benny Hill tune perfect suits the situation.

And the lap is of course perfectly legal,

Nice one Jerry. 👍 (No pun intended).

I laughed even harder the second time round.

Darren.

Man, I just love that... the music is perfect. I'd tick that a million times if I could.

Funny as hell Jerry

I can just see the little old bald guy driving that TVR whilst being slapped on the head by Benny :sly: 👍

Thanks for a good laugh bud

Metar pointed out here, that Div 3 numbers have been fairly thin. I was wondering whether the requirement for all gold times to post replays has been a deterrent for some of the Div 3 drivers who may not have a maxdrive? Any thoughts on this???

The situation was identical in the GT3 WRS 2 years ago.
Division 3 features a high proportion of casual racers who get bored the more easily. So many div3ers register, race a bit and leave.
There are exceptions of course, we have regular div 3 racers, but they are a minority IMO.

Like Cyril stated, Division 3 contains a lot of casual gamers. They play several games and get bored when they have to drive at the back of the pack all the time and then they leave.

GT4 isn't hot anymore also, so the number of new drivers that signs up is limited. And most of the loyal division 3 drivers promote to division 2 sooner or later

It might be a bit of a problem for those who have no MaxDrive, but then again, most of those turning in gold times have invested quite a bit of time in WRS'ing before, and might consider it a reasonable purchase to prove the gold they just produced (Me, rocko[numbers]).

But I think Hugo's reason:

About being at the back of the pack, is the main factor - I myself hated being last on the splits on my first weeks, until I started ignoring the D1 section while checking my own times, and comparing to other D3ers.

And GT4 really isn't a new game, and the only ones who buy it are people like me, in a gaming-uncivilized country where the Driving Force (non-Pro) just arrived two weeks ago.

I'm unfortunately one of those people. Last time I raced in the WRS was when Boom started it up. Raced maybe 4 or so weeks then disappeared. Got caught up in so many other games(still am). I've been thinking about registering again if only to race when I can. :)

Feel free to register and race whenever you have some time and like the combo.

I'm knackered, have a sore throat, stink of diesel fumes and I'm skint. Just spent the day up at Brands Hatch watching truck racing and it was brilliant. :D

Got there about 9:30 this morning and I've just got back in, (about 5:30). Best race of the day was the classic saloon cars. The Aston Martin V8 vantage, (which won), looked like the Holden interceptor from mad max in it's matt black paint scheme, it was a bit battered too but still looked and sounded great and went like the clappers! Right down from that to an old Mini (my personal favourite of course) and an MG Midget with pretty much everything else in between. Mixed in with those was the last ever 2.0l Clio cup race, in it's current form at least, I guess they'll be moving onto the newer Clio's for next years season.

And then there was the trucks. Well, I've seen these things on the TV before and considering they're restricted to 100mph they look really, reeaallly scary up close! We stuck ourselves on the start/finish straight to watch for the day. That was our first mistake...After sitting on the line revving and waiting for the lights to go out when they stormed off up the hill to the first corner they left a rather dirty smelly cloud of fumes that hung in the air until they came hurtling round a minute later, (yeah...One minute laptimes, in a truck :scared:), to dump another load of toxic fumes onto us. :yuck:

I'll try and get some pics up later but we left the digital ones at home in the rush to get out the door, had to pick up some throw-away ones from the garage so I'll have to scan them onto the pooter once they've been developed.

I'm off for a soak in the bath now.

Darren.

After a couple of sessions on this week's tough combo, I decided I needed some "Relaxation-car". And what's better than a used, first-gen Miata?

"Mazda MX-5 S-Special Type I (NA,J) '95 Purchased" popped up seconds later... The joys of a Miata.

Which led me to ask: What cars do you usually use to "relax" after a tough race or OLR combo? I don't think it's a question important enough for it's own thread...

When I've been playing another game and need to get reaquainted with GT4 I go to arcade mode and have a few cars I like to use. For one, I love the Honda beat, so I start with that at Suzuka. Then I need to adjust my 300 HP skills so I take that special Z or the Mustang and try out NY. If it's important to return to those fast cars (like when I go back to a championship and need to improve again) I take the Takata NSX to Sarthe (the chicane one).

Otherwise, to just relax I take a Beat to Suzuka, my tuned Subaru Legacy to NY or an old Japanese car like in M11. Right now I have been using my Lancia Stratos on Rally stages or the Nurb. That Miata does sound like fun though, so I may try it.

Yeah, I ran a family-cup there, OLR-clean except for one slight three-wheel off (Just one in two laps!), for ~50 points, I think. Great fun...

The car in Mad Max is actually a Ford XB GT Falcon 👍

And the trucks are only restricted to 100mph!!!! :nervous:

D'oh! Sorry, I've seen the "pics of yourself" thread recently too so I know your a bit of a Holden fan. Sorry.

And yeah, 100mph trucks are pretty damn scary when they're less than 30 feet away! The marshalls right in front of us that had been in a hut behind the armco barrier all day left that, climbed the six foot bank behind it and hid behind the main catch fencing with us. :nervous: :D

Good fun, was bloody tired at work today though. I must be getting old or something?

Pics have been put in the developers, should be up in the next couple of days. 👍

Darren.
