Colb, sorry to hear of your accident!:ouch: Did the same thing when I was considerably younger while riding with a bunch of friends, one being a doctor. Yep, you got it. No nothin' other than "hang on this is going to hurt!" It did:scared:

The kicker was we were in the middle of no where and I had to get back on the bike and do 15 miles so I could quit and go home. Now I'm pushing 60 and on cold damp days ........ the @%^%& really gives me a bad time.:grumpy:

Hope you're doing better and don't push the recovery!!

At the end of this year I can actually change my degree to 'Games Development and Design', which would be fun and interesting I imagine, but I'm unsure of the job prospects in Australia.

Be careful about going into school for pure game design only. My brother in law is a programmer and wants to do game design work, and the people he has had interviews with just toss resumes out that list "Game Design School" or similar. Reason being is those people focus only on game design tend to overlook the more real elements of the world and such.

So I would say diversify within Comp Sci stuff. Just safer that way, kinda like how I decided to do Mech Engineering instead of Astrophysics.

That aside, you should make Super Metroid the focus of your game analysis class project deal. Best. Game. Evar.

And Colbs, that sucks. Get better soon!

I actually did 'Lemmings' It was a stupid decision, especially when some of the things required to be explained are things like setting, storyline, characters. But I got my results back 2 days ago, and was only one of 4 people out of 200 to get 100%. I was pretty happy.

And why isn't anyone else up at 4:19am to talk to me. You guys are lame....

... thank God they put me under general anesthetic to put it back in is all I can say! :)

Pussy...:sly:

Have you never seen the die hard films man?!? Simply pop it back with the aid of the nearest immoveable object, a manly grunt and you're all set? And I thought you Aussies were supposed to big rough tough outdoorsy types.

I guess you'll be using the DS2 for a bit then?

In all seriousness though that does kinda suck, especially if you were going on her advice, just means you'll have to ask for a bit of 'special nursing' though? ;)

Get well soon Colby.

Shoulder's on the mend...on a different note though...

Happened today, thought it was pretty groovy :)

Well I actually get to 260 at the top of third, it's limited there, I reckon it would get to 500 if the damn 1.8 litre weren't limited :sly:

There could be a way around the limiter Colby. Just depends which one your cars got?

If it's electronically limited you could have it re-chipped to unleash the full potential. If it's the gearing which is limiting it then that's a bit more costly as a new box with different ratio's isn't gonna be cheap.

But if, (as I suspect), your car is limited by what I think it is then you're in trouble...The limiter I'm referring to is usually located behind the steering wheel. :sly:

I tried out the PS3 and the G25 with the new F1 game today. The graphics looked good, but I was only using a crappy 12" TV. The game play seemed OK, but the AI left something to be desired. Full field of cars and decent handling, but I don't think I'll get a PS3 just for that. I have a feeling GT5 will smash it to bits...

I hear ya Jαke (love the sneaky name change by the way :sly:) When GT5 comes out, I'll be the first one at the shops ready to purchase a PS3

Yes, I am certainly waiting patiently for GT5. I will get the F1 game as well but driving only one type of car would get boring after awhile for sure.

I had to dig for that greek letter "α" :D ...

It's kind of nice that GT5 isn't out right away... It allows time to pass so that the PS3 will go down in price... :sly:

I was sort of thinking the same thing but then again...I'd pay the $1000 or whatever I needed so I could play it now :-)

Thanks to a bad link, I still haven't seen it ;)

Searching there won't come up with it, either.

Damn, I saw a nice Volvo wagon today. Anchient, didn't recognize it, but it looked sleek and hearse-ish with black metallic paint and thin chrome stripes where appropriate. Really small estate, but with a solid, aggresive stance.

Hey Kyle, look what I found:

Volvo 244 2JZZ Swap.

Hotness. At least, compared to other boxy things.
I don't think I've seen that one before... But it seems rather pointless to me. He can easily get that much power from the turbo fours, or he could at least keep it swedish and turbocharge the 960's straight six if he wanted that sound. Hot damn does that engine sound good turbocharged... :scared:

I finally got around to making a steel race frame. The wooden one just didn't cut it :dopey:

Nice one, Jake :sly: Are you planning to create a place for your tv as well? Or do you place a desk at the end of your race frame?

I have 2 TV's on a long wooden fish tank base 💡 right now. the plan is to make a frame using the same steel for the TV as well... I want to have 2 identical setups, side by side.

Sweet rig man! What's that in the background? Under the cover?

It's an old Monte Carlo race car. It used to be the Budweiser car before it was retired from cup racing. Now it just runs leisure laps at Lime Rock. That shop has some neat cars in it...

Cool! Got any engine specs on it?

Jake: awesome rig man! 👍 👍 I gather you did all the welding. Looks really solid.

Next time I'm up that way (if invited) you can give me a driving lesson.:nervous:

spotted the SCCA sticker on the bumper.......Thought you might be running Lime Rock. It's been ages since I've been there.

It's not my car so I don't know much about the specs. I have only sat in it and started the engine. The owner says it has 600HP, and he's selling it...

Yes I did all the welding, I had to borrow my Dad's Miller DVI to get it done. That welder makes it easier people like me to make good welds. :dopey:

Nice racing rig you got there ;) Beats my old coffee table and couch any day of the week...

Bah, I've been dead in here the last 3 or 4 weeks... haven't had much time between work and trying to solve my marriage... which is getting continually harder to do.

Any advice from anybody thats been/is married, because right now there seems to be no similar ground between my wife and I, and I get different bits of advice from my parents and her parents - mine just said "We are sorry this is happening, we'll support you" and hers told me "You work this out or you'll end up without direction and (I kid you not) like that ditsy blond in California in jail (reference to Paris Hilton)." Problem is, I'm starting to think we jumped the gun on getting married, as 6 months later we are feeling more like we should be best friends than a married coupe. Oh how things work out it seems.

So yeah -_-;

Jake, I think you did a great job with one exception. No cup holder for the beer my friend. Don't you get thirsty??

There's no shelf space for the chips and dip either.

💡 I think you should ship that one down here and start over!!

Cupholders and shelf space... I'll add that into the plans :sly:
Wait till you see the tactile transducer and amp setup I have planned. You'll feel the engine, rumbles, bumps, and crashes right through the seat and into your butt. 👍

I'll ship one to you if you want to buy it. It has already gone through a redesign and I plan on building a new version soon...
