got an idea for week 89. If we re-send all PMs to you (Colby) you can create results and when Cyril returns he can check his PMs to confirm they match the times.

up untill now i would have just said we can wait. but sinse it's been two weeks.. i think we need to do something. perhaps create a week 89 "results" thread, that should get every ones attention, and then ask for all the racers to re submit there times.

I wonder if there's going to be any WRS runs using the '95 Nismo GTR LM Road Going Version. It's such a sweet car to look at....

There's a suggestion thread that hasn't been used in a goooood while, post it over there? :)

Why's my discussion thread been archived? Now nobody can post in it, and it hasn't even gotten started yet...
Am I really the ONLY one who continues racing old WRS weeks even when they don't count? I'm actually kinda sad nobody bothered using it, I was expecting at least one person to reply. Maybe I should try again with a better description and title? Right now I was about to bump it but I can't...

I never saw it, but I don't normally look in the WRS forum anyway unless it's results time.

OK, time someone returned the off-topic to this thread: Me.

Two quite interesting things happened:

A) We fried up the brakes in our car. We drove around the mountains, which is just about the best thing I can have as a passenger. The car made this sharp, low noise the whole time, which is currently believed to be something related with the axle, but we didn't mind. However, nearing the end of the mountains, the car started stopping slower. MUCH slower. We stopped it (with the handbrake, but from 30KM/h), and went out. Smoke came out of the front brakes (disks), and the rears smelled awfully (drums)... Guess it's time we replace those.

B) I broke my finger. 4th, right hand. Which means my blind-type is pretty messed up, so excuse me for slow racing-retulats and weird typos. It's pretty nasty...

bad luck metar, hope you mend soon mate.
B) but about those typos i dont know as you only need that finger for L and O (as in slow :-) so all other mistakes are perhaps caused by something mentioned in your story under A)? :irked: :)

It's responsible for P,O,L. Plus, the fat thing hinders the rest of the hand as well and the pain when moving as well.

still doesnt tell me anything about what caused this mishap - was it the faulty brakes, hezbollah or family argument? :)

Well my home computer is in the shop and the start of school is kicking my a$$ so I can't tidy up results or compete this week but rest assured I'll get to it folks 👍

Let me translate this post...

1. PC is in the shop having porn removed, (see translation 2).
2. Can't manage work, new GF keeping you up too late.
3. Can't compete this week...Er, not sure what this means, think it may be blasphemy of some sort?

:sly:

Darren.

Ok, here's the scoop:
After joining the 4 hour Nurb' race and doing about 18 minutes of it, I went to bed. Today, I picked up where I left off and now the times says 1:39'20.816. If my7 math is right then I have been lapping the ring for an hour and 20 minutes NONSTOP. I think I'm strange. Well, time for a little break to browse the forums, then right back to it. :)

Where can I find a sort of leader board for the qualifying laps? I can't join the WRS because I don't have a max drive, but I would still like to know how I compare to the rest of the drivers.

EDIT: Or at least the fastest time, so I'll know how fast +2.000 or whatever is.

The times for the qualifying lap are kept secret so that new members have no idea what they're aiming for. I suggest having a crack at the race then submitting your fastest time to Sphinx who will let you know what division you're in. You will only need to verify your lap if it is one of the top ten overall laps 👍

I did submit a time to see what division I would have been in to Sphinx.

I don't have a max drive.:indiff:

L'espirt de l'escalier!

Yeah, that's a poor excuse. Surely you could find 5 minutes when you're *ahem* Reloading the Firearm *ahem* to bust out a few laps.

Good news everyone! (and maybe bad to some)

I may have a custom max drive, aka AR MAX code cd and a usb flash card. I sent a file to Sphinx to verify if it works, and if it did, I just saved a bunch of money and you guys didn't.

So, while we're passing our time waiting for next week, how 'bout something fun?

160HP Benz Patent Wagen sound fun, doesn't it? A 20,000HP, 4WD Punto sounds fun too, doesn't it?

Linkage to Download (Sorry for the YouSendIt.com, but GTP only hosts upto 100KBs)

Some stats on those cars:
  • The Patent Wagen reaches 125MPH using that single gear it has. No clutch means accelleration from idle-RPM, which is painfully slow. Yet, it's still the landspeed record holder for 1901 (which was when gtbadboy drove his famous Nurburgring lap)
  • The 4WD Punto reaches 950KM/h (!). It manages to fry up a set of Superhards already on the first straight of the Testcourse, creating the funny situation in Like the Wind, when the car can't steer into the pits because it's too quick.
  • The Punto is so powerful it actually overrides the rev-limiter when revving on a standstill, creating alienish F1 sounds (probably hits around 20kRPM before the revlimiter manges to cut it out).
  • It manages to clear a whole tank of fuel in just two laps of the testcourse. When revving on the countdown, beware of the rev-limiter. Hitting full throttle during the countdown clears up a whole tank (!), effectively letting you start with no fuel.

got this crazy car save on my second memcard now.
if you pick another car the corrupt game data warnings swarm all around.
but if you go to italy and try to tune the car you can even select a T2 giving another 10.000hp :ill:
what other cars did the man program into this save, metar? he could easily come up with a 1Mhp F1 car with R10 tires and a downforce of 999 :)

Well... There seems to be a problem with the PS2X to MAX conversion, which corrupts about 9/10 hybrids created. So, the 20000HP Punto and the 160HP BenzWagen are the only (hybrids) working on this save. Though, it's a UberSave, so on top of the hybrids you've got everything else as well.

The Punto, with a Stg.2 Turbo, reaches a gargantuan 40,000HP... It's also got a very low front, dunno for what reason.

I wouldn't consider this a double-post, since half a week passed...

So. Anyone remember that video of that speck-organism simulation? Well, I worked on it a while. While? About 10 hours total. Added cool new features :D

  • Creatures have a "direction" (one out of 360 degrees) in which they continue until they bump a wall
  • Creatures hold still for a while while mating
  • Creatures now have personal 'mate-o-meter' meters, which measures the time since the last mating to prevent flooding - when it's above a certain number, the creature can mate again.
  • Food now remains white, and I removed those annoying traces they left behind

Still working on those features:
  • A random-world generator, which'll generate a different world each time. The number of possibilities, running at a resolution of 1400x2000, is practially infinite. Or, a number higher than ever calculated. (The world I'm currently running was created in Photoshop by me, so it doesn't count)
  • 'AI'. I intend to beat PD by building superior AI-mechanics. Plans include: Going towards food when close to starvation, Going towards each other when the mate-o-meter is full, and going around walls.

EDIT: I'm trying to learn Dvorak-typing. The switch is a bit tough... It really makes you reconsider if a word is worth the trouble of typing it, so you guys should see a dramatic decrease in the amount of bull**** that I write on this forum, as well as an increase in the number of typos.

Is it really that more efficient? I don't know exactly how fast I can type, but it's relatively quick, and I can't really think of situation I'd need to type faster. To me Dvorak is just one of those geeky things.

Speaking of geeks, I am now officially one of them. My uni course pretty much just involves talking about and playing video games. This is a sample of one of our tutorials.

(I came second that round, by the way, 16 player Unreal is just way too fun)
We have a LAN club and go on little geeky LAN Gaming Sessions....

But yeah, I thought university was supposed to be all hard work? I don't even own a textbook!

Basically, it should be - the world-record in typing (212WPM) was typed in Dvorak. I'm still too slow with it compared to the my very quick QWERTY typing, but I'm getting the hang of it, slowly but surely.

It sure is... In my 'computer/physics' class, we do 20+ sessions of Unreal and CS1.6.

I'm starting to think the same thing, my Uni classes involve everyone chatting on MSN and playing StickCricket (Along with many other flash games). We probably would pay more attention to the teacher if what we were learning was the slightest bit difficult.

Yup. I'd only be there a week before I worked out which lectures were just a waste of time to go to.

What Uni are you at? Course are you doing?

I'm continuing on from my Vet course in I.T, so I'm now doing my Diploma in I.T at Footscray. I'll probably do another year after this year to get my advanced Diploma, but that's if I can live through another year being poor (because i refuse to work while studying full time).

Which Uni are you at?

I'm at Deakin University in Burwood, doing Information Technology (Multimedia Technology).

I've done both VET IT: II & III, does your course include the Cisco CCNA qualification? I managed to finish it, but by the end I found it to be the most boring thing ever. At the start of the year I thought I was going to do Networking or IT Security as my Major, but by the end I realized I never wanted to do that again.
