WRS'ers and their ride...

The world has been brought back to order. At approximately 3:00pm on the 3rd of November I finally got my car back:

I may have used a tiny bit of PhotoShop on that numberplate but it's pretty appropriate for my baby's new ass :)

Repair Costs:
  • Parts - $2373.39
  • Remove & Replace - $572.79
  • Repair & Align - $1189.40
  • Refinish - $967.30
  • Sublet - $60.50
  • G.S.T - $516.33
  • Rear tyres - $460.00
  • Wheel alignment - $60.00
    ----------------------------
  • Total Cost = $6199.71
So if I'm absent a bit more often, I'll be out cruising :sly: 👍
YAY! That's a GRIP of cash, but still. That's not what the rear originally looked like, is it? You should take out that fake looking mesh in the "diffuser" and actually turn it into a diffuser by putting some nice looking black mesh in there that actually allows the air to flow through and adding something that directs the flow upwards...

Looks good though! Other than the performance reducing and weight increasing dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder... :banghead::sly:

I think that's the original bumper. The bodystyling on those Satria's is quite sporty for a standard road car...Fake diffusers, front splitter, exposed arch fixings etc, Colby'll know better than me obviously. The only other thing that looks different from before is the now standard lights, I'm sure he had the Lexus style ones pre-crash?

Darren.

Yeah, I remember now, he had Lexus lights before. Looking at the attached photo which I got from him on MSN the day after the crash, he had Lexus-style lights before.

Ahhh, coolness. Good thing about the standard lights too, lexus style ones bug me... Unless they're stock, usually.

Right on, those ones aren't too bad either...

Anywho, so Colby, you did get matching rear tires now, right? Same all around???

Yep, very first thing I did was get Falken Azenis for the rear so I'm matched 👍 I did have the Altezza style lights but after having the old ones put in, I like them more :D

The twin exhaust is how the original GTi came and when I got the exhaust done I could have gone to single exhaust but there are two gaps under the fake diffuser so I wanted it to look right as well.

She's sweet as now...except for the drivers seat which is all skew-iff so I'm gonna atttempt a swap of passenger and driver seat some time soon.

Ahhh, right on. So when's the next track date? You guys are just coming into summer now, or something like that, right? What've you done suspension wise? Is that car based off of another brand that I might be familiar with?

Proton is Malasiyan (Spelling?), and is the owner of Lotus. I don't think there's a connection between the Elise and Colby's Satria, but who knows? There will always be wind conspiracies.

Well as for another track day, I'm kind of hesitant to do anything with my own car too quickly BUT...I saw this advertised the other day which looked interesting so I might have a crack at it over the Christmas break.

As for the car, Metar is right, it is Malaysian and Proton own Lotus. The handling on the Satria has been done by Lotus and I haven't done anything extra with the suspension. The Satria though is basically a Mitsubishi Mirage body with a Mitsubishi Lancer engine (4G63). I'm not really interested in more power though (maybe a new K&N filter or something) but handling and braking I would like to improve over time 👍

Awesome. How much does the normally aspirated 4G63 put out anyway? A mirage done by lotus... Pretty cool!

Well I know the stock GTi puts out 103kw (138hp) and I've prob got another 10-15 from the exhaust...but as we've already seen I can't even deal with that so no more power for Colb :sly:

Technically not my ride, but it's my dad's birthday today and he brought himself a present.

So now he has the V8 and the Turbo. Although it's kinda scary that the wheels on the VXR are larger then the wheels on the Monaro.

(Still no match for the my purple rocket though....)

Let me tell you now, the specs are "Scary Fast!" I'll let Brad give you the details though (freaks me out just thinking about it for an FF car :scared: )

237 hp, 2 liter turbocharged inline 4.
And 18" wheels.
Take a look here : http://www.supercars.net/cars/3323.html

That's scary-quick, but his V8 has double the cylinders, and the turbo. And it's purple.

[Serious]Isn't this a bit too much power for the front-wheels to handle? The only Astra more powerful than this, so far, was the Astra Xtreme, which was a featherweight, RWD Supercar - basically a road-legal DTM racer[/Serious]

Our version has 235/35 ZR19s
With 237hp on the front wheels only, your dad must pray that the steering assistance doesn't break down or else he won't be able to turn at all.

Just put some new wheels/tires on the front of the car... And reconnected my large swaybar up there... Now, I'm hoping to have some fun for a few days and get some video... Kind of like Colby, although, in a more controlled manner... Hehehehe. Then the rear wheels/tires'll go on. I'll post up the video if I get any. :)

Witch car is that Kyle, the 244 or the 142? Sounds good thou and i can't wait to see your vid 👍

I can't drive yet (Not long now! :D) but I ride in a Suzuki Baleno 1.8 Estate. I don't have any pics of it but I might take some tomorrow.

Washed my girl and took some photos today:

After fiddling with the seat for a few hours yesterday I've got it feeling correct now and my girl is back to her best 👍

Still thinking of maybe getting a new Recaro for the drivers seat at some point but I've probably dumped enough money into her for the moment :sly:

I've seen a Mitsubishi Colt (Mirage, isn't it?) today, and it finally hit me that the Proton is the Lotus-tuned Colt you've said it basically is. The rear lights are the same, and the front is similar, too.

The 142. The 244 was detailed and then parked for the winter... :sly: Sadly, we didn't get any video... The video camera had dead batteries. We just went to a deserted road and did a few cookies with some people in the car and a couple of low speed drifts. Wet assisted of course. But now, I think a spring in the distributor broke and it's stuck at full advance. Argh. Among charging(lack of) issues...
