WRS'ers and their ride...

Oh...got an awesome idea coming up...

EDIT: In the mean time. Snapped the rarest picture ever. Rarer then a Veyron, Enzo, etc.

2 V8 Turbos, in the one frame....

(I should have taken his parts....)

Forget about the VR6. It's a great car, but it requires more maintenance than the average VW. If your V8 turbo is already costing you too much money, the VR6 will be out of your reach for sure. But it still is the coolest car of them all. The sound is simply

The Saab is a nice car, but also too expensive to maintain I think. About the Hyundai: I think... well... never mind :D

Forget about the Volvo S40, it's not that well built and drives like a sponge.

I'd go for the Suzuki if I were you. I suspect it's the most Brad's Wacky driving proof. A good Audi 80 Quattro is great too. Extremely well built, but make sure you go for the one with the 5-cylinder engine. One of the best engines ever made 👍

I don't disrespect your own opinion,
but I drive a 1999 VW Golf GTI Turbo and...
... a 2004 Volvo S40 T4 2.0 Sport!

I can't really comment on the standard S40 because mine is a T4.
But I will say that they are quite well made and mine is bloody fast.
0-60mph is about 7.4 seconds,
Top speed is 150mph(ish).
It handles well and gives plenty of four door comfort.

My Golf on the other hand...
Well I don't need to tell you about that one.

Any thing you guys would recommed for max $10,000AUD

You could do much worse than a Volvo.
I was quite impressed by the 2002/3 V8 Commodore SS I drove last year on hols.
If you're not bothered about how many doors it's got I saw a very nice 1993 Honda Prelude (2.2ltr V-Tech Low on Insurance but still fast) for just over $8000AUD. You might be able to find something similar. Just because the Japanese engines are smaller, don't let it put you off, they're still quick.
Good Luck!

The red part says it all :sly: I don't think Casio can afford your version. I only have experience in the normal versions, a 1.8 petrol and a 2.0 td, but I wasn't too fond of the handling. Ofcourse you can't compare those to your version 👍

Got worse, I washed my car for the first time in months yesterday. And found some bastard had scratched my paint with something down the length of the entire C-Pillar.

The one inbetween the back window and one of the sidewindows.

Thats an odd looking scratch mark. I can't imagine how you'd do that accidentally?

Unless someone was leaning on it or you've parked under a prickly shrub of some sort.

Either that or Greg needs to get out the golf clubs. :grumpy:

Yeah, that's what I thought. It's about least a metre long too, it goes all the way down to the tail light and you can even see it on the outside of the rear spoiler. I'm starting to think maybe someone was doing a really **** job of polishing it, or polished it with a knife? I don't think it's a tree or whatever, because the size and distance apart is pretty much uniform down the whole it.

And yes, when I find out who, the sand wedge is coming out.

That's one of the great things about my Jeeps, I doubt I would even notice if someone keyed it. Its got so much "Manzanita pin-striping" on it.

Car got worse on the weekend. It's probably not the cars fault, but I'm going to blame it anyway.

Anyway, so it's 4am on a Saturday morning, I was designated driver at my friends party, after making 4 trips to the pub and back to pick and drop people off, I drop home my last mate. Then just as I leave around the corner...

*cough, cough, burrrrr.......*

And the crappy car runs out of fuel. To make it worse, I had run out of phone battery too. My car never runs out of fuel, I run it under E all the time and it just keeps on going, except then.

I'm also going to blame 7/11, because I've never used their fuel before, and I only did because I was at the late night Kebab store and it was there.

What a stupid car.

I actually stayed at a beach town on the Oregon Coast called Manzanita this past weekend... :sly:
What a stupid car.
Naaaaaaaaaaaah, I'm pretty sure that's a Brad moment there... 👍

Speaking of cars, I sold MY car. The first one I ever owned. The first one I ever broke. The first one I ever damaged. The first one I ever fixed. The first one.............

I sold it to a local kid who actually is a year older than I was when I got it, fresh out of highschool. It's his first car as well. May it teach him much, and maybe return to my hands someday in not too much worse condition... :fingers crossed:

Down to just the 1991 and the Motorcycle now... Feels wierd. Oh well, less money paid on interest now, and a little free'd up to improve the 1991 some more. :indiff:

Yeah, that was pretty much my prognosis. :D

Either that or the V8 turbo's heard the rumours that you're looking at other models. They get like that cars....well cars and women, strange that?

Finally got round to pulling the Mini engine apart again today. Got to have another look at the cam timing again, I've got a funny feeling that I cocked it up first time round which explains why it's been spitting two foot flames out of the exhaust!

I'll let you know how I get on tomorrow night.

No unfortunately...the resulting backfires scared the mother in law so much she nearly fell into my pond so any video footage would've been unwatchable due to the resulting hysterical laughter. :D

Looks like the Mini could be out on its ear fairly soon actually. I've been offered a very cheap Octavia RS which has me seriously tempted...The insurance doesn't look too bad either as it's not going to be that much more than the Mini? But then there is a very long list of mods on the Mini which has bumped up my premiums quite a bit.

Yep, my days of having a clean driving license are numbered. It's probably only a matter of time before PC Gatso rips it to pieces. :nervous:

Fairly well. Unfortunetley I was forced to enter a group which I was way overmatched in, but I could not stay for a long time and wanted to have one of the earlier sessions. Still held on pretty well.

Right on. Hopefully next year I'll actually get around to doing a some autocrossing. That's what I said last year too, though...

So I get a call today from my mum who had taken the V8 Turbo to get a service at the place next to her work

Mum: "I'd tell you all the things wrong with it, but the list is about 100 things wrong and I can't remember them all"

Greg: "Well, if the 100 things cost 1$ each that isn't a big deal"

Mum: "It's going to cost you 500$ today because the brakes are shot, and you'll have to get the other things over time, because the guy can't possibly order in everything he needs this quickly"

So, now more time for serious car shopping....Although anyone want to buy a perfect condition Cordoba first?

EDIT:
Things that were just needed brought

Engine Oil
Oil Filter
Sump Washer
Wiper Washer Additive
Rear Brake Shoes
Rear Wheel Cylinder
Rear Brake Shoes
Brake Fluid
Coolant
Slit Pin

Things that are still wrong:
Plug Leads needs replaced
Power Steering Pump Noisy
Front Engine Mount Worn
R/Cover gasket leaking
Sunroof Not Working
Fuel Filler Cap

Any of those really bad? Or do I need to fix them ASAP?

I'd buy that Cordoba if it wasn't RHD.

And if I had the cash, and the licence. Speaking of licences... Just 8 months to go!

Best to get that rocker cover gasket replaced man, thats oil loss and pressure loss right there.

Id go for a used steering pump though, theyre either gonna be noisy and give up, or theyre gonna last a life time... varies from pump to pump.

@ cantBbeat: thats an interesting JDM front end.
Considering the indicators are european, along with the side mouldings. The plate is a JDM shape though.
Nice Rotas.

and good times in the WRS, well done.

:irked:👍
