There are only 3 usb ports if wired controllers use them. T5-R Sony hasn't changed the price of its controllers or memory cards and niether has MS . Controllers for years were $24.99 MC $24.99 untill recently with the $29.99 2 pack. Xbox controller S is still $29.99 at retail chains the MC is $24.99. No prices have changed since day 1.

Well that might be the case of RRP prices (or a difference with prices in the US) but in general they have come down in the UK. Initially the PS2 multitap was a preposterous £35 or so, the memory card an unsuprisingly overpriced £30 and controllers were atleast £20. Theres days its about £20 for the official multitap, £15 for memory card (£25 for 2 usually) and about £15 for the controllers. As usual us europeans get shafted in terms of prices looking at your prices!

, $1000 might not even be enough for a PS3 ;)

damn..... GAH! Looks like I'll be stuck with my PS2 and GCN for a while. I'm not spending 400 dollars. and then 60 for games, **** dude, that will cost too much money. 👎

Yup, look like they are definitely going to start marketing towards older teens with jobs. Parents dont want to spend $60 a pop!

Still cheaper than here in the UK.

It's very likely games will be $60 this coming generation, because development costs will go up.

Of course, this more or less depends on how much they go up, and the choice is ultimately Sony's/Microsoft's.

If Sony/Microsoft feel that development costs are too high, and they are taking a hit too large on their hardware, they will bump up the price of games.

The biggest factor is hardware though. It is estimated at this time that it will cost $496 to manufacture each PS3, so taking a $96 loss would be a very very good reason to see games sell at $60.

Also, the Xbox 360 takes a hit each time they sell their $299 version of the console, and a smaller hit on the $399 version, which is why their accessories are so overpriced. This could also lead to higher games.

Yep, they sell consoles as a loss. I guess for the amount of money lost they make up for by selling dev kits and accessories. I'm just happy they're not charging us 50-100$ more than it cost them right away :) I can live without an extra controller or a memory stick for awhile :D

This is the pricing we have in the UK at Play.com. Notice the reduction in game price!

Call me dense but can I save games with the hard drive or do I still need to get the 64MB memory unit? And if it does but you, buy the Core version, you need to spend £17.99 on the memory unit right away! Why don't they include it with the console and simply increase the price?

Looking at things I want two games and another controller (wired) so thats £98 right there. Plus £12.99 for the recharge pack that I must use with my "free" wireless controller? So £111 and £279 = £390! And if I have to get a memory unit that's another £17.99. Crikey, looks like I need to save extra pennies!

Well then, you obviously havn't been looking. There seems to be plently of good games coming out for it.

I'm going to play code_kev's part really quick...

"you can't say a games good without having played it. Just seeing videos and screen shots can't tell you how good a game is".

I know there will be good games, I just thought it would be kinda funny :)

I´ve seen a lot of good game's trailers for the X360. They don´t impress very much graphically (besides Gears Of War), but they still look like very fun games.

I don´t see myself buying an X360 or PS3 before 2007 though.

I said there "seems to be plenty of good games coming out", meaning that I don't know if they are good. :D. Phew you almost had me there.

Ye graphically they are nothing exciting and for the first time in my life i couldnt care less for the next gen.

Yup, I know what you mean. Dreamcast ruined the PS2 launch for me cause I had higher expectations. The GFX wernt much better.

Young Warrior, games like Gears of War and Ghost Recon 3 looks freaking incredible. Those two games are imo graphically exciting, and pretty much widdle on most stuff today.

Ghost Recon 3 is freaking amazing!
Aren't they going to be releasing a demo soon just to get a taste of it?

condemned looks boring from all the videos I've seen. wether its pc or x360 it looks dull. Very uninspiring and graphics look the part of swat 4 , FEAR and Riddick.

Gears of war is the one i'm anticipating the most.

But Quake 4 and WarDevil look promising.

I just hope they bring Enemy Territory: Quake Wars to 360...

but I doubt they will..
