Quantum GP700
An Australian take on the open-wheeled supercar, with a tuned Honda K-Series engine producing 522kw... just don't call it an Ariel Atom.

Turkey's first ever mass produced passenger vehicle. The first generation (A1) pictured above actually looks rather nice, almost a hodge-podge of Ford styling cues - a Corsair with the rear end of a Capri, and the overall profile of an elongated Escort. Has the face of a Nissan Pao, too. Only let down by sounding like something you'd pick up from the pharmacy counter.

That certainly doesn't look too bad, although the one in the image looks like it has seen its best days already.

The vehicle in the background looks little bit nicer, though. :sly:

Some massive gains on those X Pack Fords. It's a shame that only the likes of BMW offer anything similar these days with the M Performance range.

Euro Ford's Brand X packs.

Well, even the Fiesta XR2 got some ill gains from that X-Pack boost, those wheelarches are something else. The X-Pack Fords really improved the general product and not just a specific non-performance aspect like most "factory post-purchase" packs such as some of the Mercedes equipped with AMG parts (and are not true AMG models).

It is a shame that Ford didn't do more to the Cortina; yes, it was nearing its death bed and it was more of a grocery-getter than the rest of Ford's British lineup, but just imagine a Cortina V6 with a Zakspeed bodykit and the same modifications which were used in the Capri... Mouth-watering.

This one might not be as significant as the others on here, but this one surprised me. I thought I was a Porsche fanatic! :(

Anyways, I've learned about a 911 Turbo 2.7 liter rather than the 3.0 liter we all know and love. There was only ever one made, so maybe this doesn't count. I find it interesting, because it's the true beginning to a legendary car.

The 911 is Europe's equivalent of the Ford Mustang. So many different models in pretty much the same package.

Meh. The 911 is probably way worse than the Mustang in that case. The current 911 lineup is pretty ridiculous.

Pardon to barge in during this 911 discussion, but I do have another unknown car I would like to share. This one came as a result of a ongoing conversation I have with fellow GTP member @ilikewaffles11 through Facebook, when he shared a couple of car brochures. As it turns out, in the middle of the ones which belonged to Nissan was this particular car;
2000_altra-ev.jpg

The Nissan Altra EV; the first ever li-ion battery-powered EV car in history. In essence, it is not much more than a Nissan R'nessa (another car I wasn't aware of, funny enough) with a new set of electric batteries, but it was still a car that neither me nor waffle we aware of. From what I've gathered, the Altra was used mostly as a fleet car, so it was not exactly a mass-produced EV car...

I was looking up cars that will be legal in the US this year and I learned about these Volkswagen Golfs:

The Mk.2 VW Golf Rallye

In 1989, the Rallye Golf appeared as a rallye "homologation special". Distinguishable by its box-flared wheel arches (similar to the Audi quattro, BMW E30 M3 and Lancia Delta Integrale) and rectangular projector headlamps, this model featured Syncro four-wheel drive, a cable shifted transmission and a G-supercharger 1763 cc (less than the typical 1.8L 1781 cc to meet the engine displacement rules) version of the injected 8 valve G60 1.8 litre engine.

Five thousand cars were built in Volkswagen's Brussels, Belgium, plant, priced at about DM 50,000 each (or roughly twice as much as a base Golf GTI). The Rallye Golf has 161Bhp (118 kW).[7]

None were officially sold in the USA. Two were sent over officially for testing, with five sent over for evaluation. Volkswagen of America vice-president James Fuller was a supporter of its addition to the U.S./Canadian lineup. Fuller died in December 1988 while flying home from Germany aboard Pan Am Flight 103, when a bomb planted by Libyan terrorists exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland; this had a detrimental effect on the Rallye Golf's chances of importation to North America.

Eventually, Volkswagen of America decided that the Rallye Golf would be too expensive to offer for sale in North America, where Volkswagen was perceived as a low-cost brand.[8]

Well, I think I like the Rallye, but I don't care for the country.

The DC Designs CEX1. Apparently the maker of the car wants to be the next Enzo Ferrari. Ha

Hahaha

Hahahaha- oh you don't know what's funny? Well...

A link to information in French.

It may not be an Enzo killer, but the CEX1 did do a pretty good job at killing my own eyes. Good job, Indian designer, now I need icepicks and a Neuralizer to erase this atrocious image from my eyes.

And the greatest kicker is that, according to the French article which was shared, the Rolls that gave its noble life for such a tragedy was a 1995 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit. It is not even a badly-botched Phantom, it's an used Silver Spirit. And would you look at this "wonderful" rear end;

Good god, it even has scissor doors. A true ode to ghastly taste, this "car"...
